BasingstokeFabulous little villa - cannot recommend enough
Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Frangipani Villa was lovely, we were met at the airport and transported back to the Villa, a journey of about half an hour. The place was spotless and they had stocked the fridge for us with fruit, bacon, eggs etc, that was a lovely touch as the last thing we wanted to do was go out shopping. The pool was lovely and just perfect for my young children learning to swim. Everything we needed was there, stereo, tv, DVD player and wifi (this wasn't working when we arrived but it was fixed as soon as it could be).
I can't recommend this place enough, it was a little bit out of the main drag but this suited us and the taxis are very cheap and are there almost instantly when you call for one.
There is a lovely restaurant in Nusa Dua that we went to a few times called Nyomens, they picked you up and dropped you home for free. There was a real wide range of food. There were 14 of us there for dinner and they were so accommodating, all of us had lovely meals there too and it was very reasonable. Also, all of the shops along there stay open fairly late so if you are after last minute souvenirs as you were too busy sunbathing during the day, it's perfect.
If you get the opportunity to rent this property - do! You're getting so much for your money.Response from Michelle and John - 05/07/2013

Hi Caroline I am glad you all had a wonderful time. Nyomens is one of our favourites too. Thank you for the love,y review.

We stayed here for a getaway in February 2013 and we couldn't have been happier. Everything about this place screamed 'relaxing'.
The layout of the villa is superb and the presentation is exceptional, we enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't want to leave.
This villa is well presented and very well serviced by the staff, the pool is beautiful and the living areas are spacious enough for families or friends to stay.
Highly recommend everyone consider staying here. -

Thank you,
I have travelled to Bali many times and this by far was the most relaxing stay that I have had. Villa Frangipani has just had a fresh make over and was so immaculately clean, enveloping and welcoming. I really enjoyed the close location to the beautiful white beaches, although the privacy of the private pool was great for working on the tan!! Nestled amongst a local village was a true Balinese experience. Totally enjoyable and relaxing, thanks to the wonderful staff. -

Thanks for organizing all the goodies in the fridge for us...was nice not to have to shop before we settled comfortably into Frangipani...the villa looks great after all the recent work done ...immaculate as always..Leo and El are wonderfully helpful...as as we come to bali often we will see you again in the not to distant future.
I recommend Frangipani Villa for its value and location and above all privacy!! -

We were serviced by a very lovely lady each day who left the place immaculate.
Loved the lay out of the place and especially loved the separate room we had with ensuite and fridge and plenty of romm for suitcases and to hang clothes.
Is not close to restaurnts or shops but very easy to get a cab or hire a driver for the day. -

We were picked up at the airport by Leo and driven to our villa in Nusa Dua (Wisma Dua). When we arrived we were greeted by Ronni who was ensuring everything was in order and informed us she would be doing the housekeeping each day (excluding Sunday while Tiki was away) and that if we needed anything at all we could contact here or leave a message prior to heading out and she would do her upmost to get sorted. We walked around for the first couple of days Its a great way to meet the locals and its so great to be greeted with a smile and a wave. Dont be concerned with the traffic...safe as houses I reckon. It was Ramadan so a few of the local stores were closed but reopened on our last couple of days so we shopped local (great prices). We ate out most lunches and dinners. We were here more for a wedding so touristy things weren't high on the agenda so it was great to come back to a clean villa, fresh water, a pool and a great aircon. Bedrooms were more than ample, security was great - not that we needed it as everyone around us were great and friendly. Leo advised if we were travelling local to use taxis (only use Blue Bird or the metered taxis - honest system) If you are heading into Kuta, get a driver and car and negotiate the price. Leo can help out with this. I used some locals and got quite good prices, they will even wait for you. We had a driver for 4 hours and it cost $26 aUD and took us to some great market areas. I was so glad we stayed at the frangipanni - it was so relaxing. Overall I was very satisfied staying at the villa. Only negative if you can call it that was the water cooler didnt cool the water...and my daughter kept using all the hot water...teenagers gotta luv em lol. I will deffinatley be coming back and will also be seriously considering these villas.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Frangipani Villa.
The villa is beautiful, well maintined and was well stocked with supplies and untensils. Though a taxi ride to the beach we did not find this problematic. Our family really enjoyed the village experience. Hubby played soccer with local children and we ate at the local resturant a short walk away every day. I loved my free massage (thanks) and happily enjoyed a few more! We would stay at Frangipani Villa again. Thanks Michelle. You were great with communicating re our booking and giving us lots of tips for our first trip to Bali.

PerthExcellent for young kids and families
Left on 08/22/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We recently stayed at the Frangipanni Villa in the outskirts of Nusa Dua. We have two young children (9 months and 2.5 years). The villa was clean and well set up for families. We were right in a village with local people and felt we had a great cultural experience. Anywhere near by was done by taxi, but you wouldn't walk anyways with all the scooters on the road. Cost of a taxi to the beach (which was very nice by Bali standards), the Bali Collection, the Museum Pacifika or Hardy's was around $2 australian in metered, clean, aircon taxis. A trip to Jimbaran Bay or Kuta is about 20-30 minutes and costs around $8-10. Local food was amazing. Restaurants in Nusa Dua will pick you up and drop you at the villa.
Pool was perfect for our 2.5 year old, the villa was secure and the local salon only minutes down the road for great massages and pampering. The villa is beautifully finished off and well maintained by excellent staff. We would stay there again and recommend it to only our closest of friends so we can get back in again soon.
Thanks so much for making our first trip to Bali a wonderful experience. No need to stay in Kuta or in the big hotels, this place has it all and the privacy to really relax and enjoy Bali.Response from Michelle and John - 09/09/2011

I stayed at Frangipani Villa Nusa Dua with a friend and her 14 year old daughter for 6 days last September...and we have nothing but praise for the place. The villa is very spacious, clean, modern and very comfy, in fact, we felt very much at home after a few hours and it was wonderful to come home to after a busy day out.
The pool is excellent, and along with the welcome fruit platter waiting in the fridge, very refreshing ... so nice to jump in the pool and cool off in the privacy of the villa courtyard. The price was good too, and Michelle (owner) was quick to answer my emails regarding renting the villa and arranged for a driver, Leo, to meet us in Kuta - taxis are easy to get from outside and once we found a good driver we stuck to him for our whole stay (would have used Leo, but he was already booked for the week.)
We would both book this villa again next time we come to Bali, as the stability of having a whole house to come home to after the busyness of the day is too good to pass up. There are some good restaurants within walking distance, and a few cute little shops with basics, + a big supermarket not far away (Hardy's).. + very cheap internet close by as well. Basically, nothing to complain about this great villa - oh, laundry can be done locally too, very quick and cheaply.
Great villa, great staff, peaceful sweet little neighourhood...all good, all very good! -

We stayed at the villa in april. Michelle was extremely patient with answering our many questions and responds very promptly to enquiries which is fab. We stayed with two children under three. The villa is quite small, in terms of the main house, although there is a detached bedroom too, but I don't think it would be too comfortable to more than one couple staying in the main villa, but it was enough for us. Luckily it didn't rain too much, or it would have been difficult to entertain small kids indoors in the space for very long. However, the pool is great for young kids - waist high water and there were even some pool accessories for kids provided. The villa contains a good travel cot and a high chair, both of which came in handy and we were even provided with one carseat which was great. Leo and Tuki were brilliant. Tuki is just lovely and does a great job coming every day and cleaning up. She also organised the dirty laundry which was cheap to do and came back the next day. The location isn't great if you expect to be able to walk out of the door and be somewhere, however, getting a taxi is quite easy, and then you're 10 minutes away from the beach and restaurants etc. The villa itself i would recommend but maybe not the location so much, unless you really want a beach holiday - the traffic in and out of Nusa Dua is a pain.

The overall experience was great. Clean, cozy villa with good size bedrooms and both Tuki and Leo were great. The villa is in a quiet neighbourhood and the nearby Wisma spa is great value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to friends. Only one suggestion pls put a standing fan in the main room in the villa as it can get quite warm at night and the ac covers only the living room.

Glad you had a great time at the villa and we would be pleased to have you back any time.
When the aircon is set on the correct setting and all external doors and windows are closed the aircon reaches all rooms in the villa. We stayed there recently and had to turn off the aircon on many occasions as it got quite cold. -

We stayed here for about 12 nights over the Christmas holidays. Leo picked us up and the airport and our young son wasn't feeling too well. He took us to a clinic and waited for about 2 hours late at night for us... amazing.
The villa is in a very quiet local neighborhood away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the city. We had breakfast delivered to us each morning which was fantastic and very inexpensive. We spent the majority of the time in the pool and just relaxing.
Tuki, who takes care of the villa daily, is amazing and very helpful.
I would recommend renting a car... you can get one for about 15000 rupiah per day (or about 17 USD) with unlimited kilometers delivered right to the villa. Much easier than trying to find a cab or calling one whenever you want to go out.
The grocery store (Hardy's) is not within walking distance, but there are a few small shops close by for drinks and snacks. A small restaurant around the corner is also good.
The Internet is not wireless as stated... you have to plug in a cable to your laptop. So make sure your device has an ethernet port. Having said that, the Internet was speedy and always worked.
I would highly recommend the villa for those looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Everything, from the pickup and drop off, to breakfast and housekeeping, was perfect and made for a very enjoyable time. We would love to return again.Response from Michelle and John - 01/08/2011

I have just returned from a couple of weeks in Bali with a friend and her 14 year old daughter. For 5 days we stayed at Frangipani Villa in Wisma Dua near Nusa Dua. The villa soon became our "home away from home" and I really did start to feel very at home there, and could have easily stayed for longer if I didn't have other plans. Each day we traveled to Ungasan by local taxi to help out at an orphanage there, and would come back each afternoon and either have a cooling swim in the pool or a quick shower and then relax in the very comfortable lounge area. The local shops are just a short walk away and there is a very excellent Chinese Indonesian Cafe which we enjoyed often, bringing home the food to eat in the outdoor area which is fully enclosed and very private.
Booking the villa was very easy via email and Michelle was very prompt and helpful with all her communications. Tuki, the housekeeper comes 6 days a week to tidy up and is very sweet + she has a local contact for a very cheap laundry service. Although Wisma Dua is a little out of the way - that is part of its' appeal, and local taxis are not expensive at all. Once we found Gus Tuk on day one, we used him all the time and he would be at the villa gate and happily took us all over Bali. I hope to return to Bali next year and will definately try and book into Frangipani Villa again. Thank you Michelle and John for making your villa available. This is a lovely holiday villa, with all mod cons. The kitchen could do with some more pots and pans if you want to get involved in some home cooking. There are plenty of nice restaurants to choose from though but we found a car to be very handy as they are not at walking distance, nor are the beaches but the taxi service works very well too and it is cheap. We can recommend the tour guide Leo. A lovely thought are the welcome massage, fruit platter and basic food supplies. If this all sounds great to you and you don't mind the usual hustle and bustle that accompanies staying in a local village, book Frangipani and you will not be disappointed. I would also like to add that during our stay there was an inconvenience (nothing tho do with the villa) which the owner solved for us very swiftly which was impressing. We had a lovely time!

Once you get behind the gate you can truely relax and unwind without the hassle of other holidayers. The inside of the villa is beautiful and very clean thanks to the villas housekeeper Tuki. The people of the village are so friendly and always gave us a huge smile. The villa is only a 3-5 minute taxi ride to Bali Collections where we went many a night for dinner. The overall experience at Frangipani Villa was easy and great. Leo, the driver who is more than a driver, picked us up from our place in Ubud, showed us the surrounds in Nusa Dua, gave us the run-down of the villa (everything you might need) and made us feel at home.
While I spent every day at a conference, my wife stayed and worked backed at the villa, went for walks in the local area and loved it. Friendly neighbours, a community.
It was very hot and humid when we were there, possibly a reflection of coming from Melbourne, so we were happy for air-con in the evenings, and a splash in the pool to cool us ready for bed.

Stayed in Frangipani villa for our 1 week conference in Bali. It's a 10mins taxi ride to the Bali Westin Convention Center. Very convenient & value-for-$ accomodation.
We made all our villa arrangement via emails & our queries are replied promptly & booking was hassle-free.
Our flight was delayed, got into Bali at midnight & we flew off in the wee morning 6am flight & Leo, the villa driver did an excellent job in receiving & sending us off.
Frangipani Villa is well-maintained & clean. We love the large bathroom in the main hall. 2 bedrooms (1 with a double decker bed, another with a queen size bed) are found in the main hall. Another queen size bedroom with attached bathroom in a seperate quarter. Kitchen is well-stocked with the basic amenities & there is a distilled cold & hot water dispenser for our daily usage, thus no need for us to stock up on clean drinking water. Good selection of family DVDs.
Tuti, the housekeeper comes in daily to make the bed & change fresh bathing towels. Location of the villa can be secluded, well tucked in the local community enclave where you can get cheap & good local food abt 15 mins walk away. Do not expect buzzling retails shops or F&B outlets in the vicinity. Due to the secluded location, I do not recommend an all-girls travellers to stay in Frangipani villa.
Travellers who need WIFI has to make do with 1 LAN cable line. It doesn't matter to us as we are out of the villa between 9am to 11pm everyday for the conference.
We flew in on a late Saturday night. Frangipani Villa welcomed us with a fresh fruit platter, bacon & bread & juices for our next day's breakfast. Unfortunately, we were't communicated Tuti, the housekeeper would not turn up on a Sunday(she does not live in the villa)& we only knew those food in the fridge were meant for us when we saw Tuti on Monday.
It took us some days to figure out how to turn on the water heater.
Would recommend this Villa for convention attendees. =)Response from Michelle and John - 05/11/2010

We literally booked hours before staying at the villa and Michelle and the house staff made the entire experience stress free. The house was clean and well stocked to make you feel like home (soap, fresh-clean-wonderful smelling towels, crisp linens, stereo with a selection of cds, satellite tv, internet, hairdryer, etc.) You could tell the owners really put a lot of care and attention to ensure their guests have the most comfortable and pleasant stay possible. The villa is not the most conveniently located; however, it was not a problem for us as we had a car. I would recommend anyone staying for more than a few days to rent a car--you can rent one in Kuta for less than 10 Euros a day including insurance.

Left on 03/07/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We stayed in the Frangipani Villa for two weeks. The Villa was perfect for our family of two adults and two children under 7. The highlight is the refreshing pool which was used relentlessly by our kids and we enjoyed it in peace at night-time.
The kitchen is functional for what we needed but as it is not aircon can get quite hot if cooking etc but we easily cooled off in the aircon lounge or pool so not too much of a discomfort. The housekeeper/manager Tuki kept everything spotless and well maintained and she was lovely to meet and nothing was a problem for her to attend to,(our son especially fond of Tuki, becoming her shadow!).
The speedy internet connection was very convenient, however the location of the villa is not within walking distance to the village for us with small kids but hubby ventured out and said the walk was not too bad but in the heat not really worth it. Taxi's were easy to call to the villa arriving within minutes to take us down the hill into Bualu village for dinner etc. for only a few aussie dollars. The neighbours were all friendly locals and happy to offer smiles or conversations.
Our driver Leo was sincere, honest and a true pleasure to meet and have show us around for a day, highly recommended for any transport/tours etc.
Gerger beach is a few minutes drive away and so lovely, quiet and free from hassling hawkers (only one or two, not pushy). The waves small and perfect for small kids.
Michelle(owner) is great to communicate with and took the time to follow up our arrival to ensure all was well and any problems dealt with quickly and smooth transactions with payments etc.
I would definitely recommend this villa if you are looking to stay in Nusa Dua, especially over the high priced resorts where you are paying way too much for simply being closer to the beach and having much less living space. Our stay was relaxing and private, feeling more like a home than just a "holiday". Sad to have to leave but hoping to return one day!Response from Michelle and John - 03/10/2010

The most important value that I was looking for in my holiday was peace of mind. To know that I would feel safe and secure. If this concerns you too...don't look any further because that is exactly what Michelle and John provided. A safe, secure, private and spacious villa with all the comforts from home. Nothing spared. Nestled amongst the local community of Nusa Dua, the people are so friendly and respectful of your privacy. Their driver Leo was amazing, so helpful, willing to please, driving us around tirelessley and always so polite and with a smile. I wont forget this holiday. Thank you Michelle and John, I will definately be returning to Bali and I definately know where I will be staying!

Everything ran smoothly from stepping off the plane.Leo picked us up from the airport and stopped for a bit of shopping along the way..
We just loved frangipani villa..it was welcoming and very comfortable with everything we needed.
Loved the private guest room and the private pool, after a long hot day out and about the pool was just the thing...we enjoyed early morning and late night swimms daily.
Not far to beach and restaurants of which many came and picked us all up and brought us home free of charge...loved that service.
Tuki our house keeper was a delight and very efficient and prepared fresh fruit for us each day..
The only thing I didnt like was leaving Frangipani..we will definatley stay again.. -

We'd like to thanks John and Michelle for the use of their Villa in Nusa Dua. NOt only was the villa a pleasure to stay in the area in which it's located is central to many attactions and the village area very quaint.
The neighbours either side of the Villa were very quiet and we really relaxed without the hustle bustle of main stream Bali.
We will be certainly booking the villa again when we return to Bali.
Thankyou -

Frangipani Villa serpased our exectations it is situated in a quiet village in Nusa Dua and all the people are so friendly. This was our first experience of staying in a private villa. The freedom of having your own residence is magical, able to swim at any time of the day or night.
We loved the idea of being able to cook for ourselves if we didn't want to go out. Our teenage son loved staying in the seperate guest room, he could come and go as he pleased without disturbing us. We hired Leo for the day and he took us all over Bali, he knows all the good places to go and super cheap.
This property is highly recommended and we have booked again for next year.

Beautifully decorated and the splash pool is gorgeus, especially after a day in the heat shopping! Very clean and close to all shops and nightlife. John and Michelle even adviced on transport, restuarants and site seeing. They have a wealth of knowledge of the area which helps with planning your trip.
