Island Delight is a three bedroom, two bathroom home located in the residential area of East Beach. The property features two queen beds and two single beds. Amenities include a screened in porch with table and chairs, and an enclosed outdoor shower. There is easy beach access on SE 40th Street and the Intracoastal Waterway is just a half block away. East Beach, which runs just over three miles from Southeast 58th Street west to Middleton Avenue is a popular stretch of Oak Island sand. Island Delight is a newer home on the back side of Oak Island. The home was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We were in the area on business and it was so relaxing to have a nice place to come home to at the end of the day instead of the typical hotel room.
I would caution prospective renters to look into the location of any home on Oak Island before renting. The island is much wider than most on the Carolina coast. This particular home was about a 20 minute walk to the beach. In the listing it mentions that the home is only 1/2 block from the waterway, which it is. However, all of the land along the waterway is privately owned so you cannot access it.
For our purposes, Island Delight exceeded our expectations. If we are in the area again, I will check with Oak Island accomodations first.
