Sand Walker is a two bedroom, one and one half bathroom home located in the West Beach portion of beautiful Oak Island, NC. The property features one queen, three singles, and one sofa bed. West Beach, stretching almost four and a half miles from Middleton Avenue west to the point of the island, is the most secluded stretch of beach on Oak Island. With more quiet beaches than most of Oak Island, and only a few houses deep at its widest, this stretch of land has virtually no commercial properties and is ideal for vacationers looking to get away from it all. If you're looking for a house right on the beach where you can sit on a covered porch and watch the ocean or walk 50 feet to the beach and luxury is not high on your priority list, this house is perfect! We spent the majority of our time on the porch--reading, eating, snoozing, or just enjoying the view (dolphins!). There's an empty lot on the south but the neighbors you can reach out and touch the neighbors to the north, so you hope to co-exist easily (we did). The house is small and certainly not luxurious, but it met our needs just fine. We had a blast!

This home has a very special place in my heart. I 2007 I picked this home because I wanted to take my elderly father to the beach. I wanted ocean front. I seen this home in your booklet, and decided this what I was looking for. The charm and simplicity speaks for itself. Since then I have booked this home in the fall. I have since lost my dad in 2009. My memories are worth all the gold on earth that I have there. I look forward to my stay there every year and like to think my father is rocking in the rocking chair beside me as I sit on the porch overlooking the ocean. Oak island accommodations has been wonderful in helping me keep those memories I will always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you.

This house was great except for the living room furniture. It would have been difficult to find more uncomfortable furniture. It was the worst. My children kept bumping their heads on the wooden frame because the cushions were so inadequate. The only other problems we had were with the tv, which was fixed quickly by the realty company, and difficulty getting some electronic equipment charged up. Some of the outlets didn't seem to carry enough current to get the charge to work.
