Sun Princess is a three bedroom, two bathroom home located in the East Beach portion of beautiful Oak Island, NC. The property features one king, two sets of bunk beds, and two single beds. East Beach, which runs just over three miles from Southeast 58th Street west to Middleton Avenue is a popular stretch of Oak Island sand. My husband and I stayed at The Sun Princess while in Oak Island for a family wedding. The location was perfect for us. The house was very comfortable and spacious with great access to the beach. In the garage below the house there are the basics for the beach - chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards. Enough to keep us entertained! We will for sure stay again at the Sun Princess and hope to bring our three young children back with us next time. It would be a great place for a family getaway!

we have been staying on oak island for 35+ years and have been in many, many houses there. this one had so much potential and looked perfect online.
the living room as pictured did not have any other seating except for the two couches - no rocking chairs or anything else in there. the floors under the couches were disgusting. there was a nasty smell in one of the closets. the screened porch was missing whole sections of screen. we called the day we checked in and they said they would put in a work order but nothing ever came of it. pretty disappointing to spend that money and not have one of the selling points functional.
the check-in process was a nightmare. they would not release any keys until 3:00 and the line of guests was around the building and moving so slow. it was sad how little Oak Island accommodations cared about that mess, too.
the cottage had a great view - and a huge living space. it really would be perfect with just a little TLC and/or a rental company who cared. -

We had a great week at the Sun Princess. The House was perfect for the four of us. The view was wonderful from the living room and master bedroom and we listened to the ocean and waves crash at night leaving the windows open with wonderful weather. The rental company was great even bringing us a new dvd player when the one that was there didn't play for us. The island is perfect this time of year. Would definitely recommend this property.

The house and the view were wonderful and we could open the windows and enjoy the ocean breeze day and night. The master bedroom faces the ocean; we enjoyed the sounds of the surf as well. We appreciated the nice deck and screened porch and especially the gates on the deck so our dog Ginger could enjoy the ocean scenery too.

We have a hard time finding a nice pet friendly house that is small. It's just the two of us and my miniature schnauzer. Most of the super nice places are for large groups and the price reflects that. We were pleased with the Sun Princess. The location is fabulous (walking distance to restaurant Island Way), the furnishings very nice, and the hardwood floors were great...no doggy smell or stains like in other pet friendly places we've stayed. The kitchen is well equipped with nice glassware/dinnerware. The 2 extra bedrooms have bunks built on the walls. We used those as dressing rooms/closets. On the downside, the screened porch (one of the reasons we chose this house) was in terrible shape with screens flapping in the breeze, outdoor seating was limited to 1 broken rocker and 2 well-weathered rockers, and there is no grill. The positives far outweighed the negatives and we'd stay here again.

The Sun Princess house was a beautiful retreat for our weekend visit. Our trip was short, so it was pricey for a 2 night stay, but exactly what we wanted: oceanfront and pet friendly. The home was lovely and clean - the deck and outdoor chairs needed some work, but otherwise quite neat and thoughtfully appointed. We really enjoyed our visit. 4/5 stars for service b/c we offered a bid on a separate property and never heard back from the agency; however, they were helpful in booking the Sun Princess rental.
