Turtle Sands is a three bedroom, two bathroom home located in the East Beach portion of beautiful Oak Island, NC. The property features one queen, three doubles, and one single bed. East Beach, which runs just over three miles from Southeast 58th Street west to Middleton Avenue is a popular stretch of Oak Island sand. Not quite as quiet or secluded as West Beach, its location closer to the island's shops and restaurants make it perfect for the vacationer looking for a blend of relaxation and convenience. The location was great, but didn't know that the dunes would be so high that you wouldn't be able to see the sand meeting the ocean. Disapponting because some of the second row places acually had better views. The master bathroom floor had black discoloration from water damage. It appeared that noone had stayed there for a while. Very dusty!! When it hasn't been rented for awhile, housekeepibg should do a thorough dusting. The beach access was great and the house was older, but quaint and comfortable. We will probably look for a better view next time, but enjoyed the trip overall.

Loved the location of this home. Was a little disappointed in the upkeep and the cleanliness. We arrived late in the evening and did not call for housekeeping and just decided to do what needed to be done ourselves. We loved the cottage style details and the overall ammenities were very good. Not sure I would rent this home again but plan to visit again in July 2011 and stay oceanfront as well.
