It was the perfect house for our family. The bedrooms on every level make it nice for some privacy and the large kitchen/family room was great for dinner time.

We just felt at home from the minute we walked thru the door... I just could not believe that the owners left everything open for us to use... everything. We are so used to all the good stuff ie pots and pans, a spice if you need it to cook etc. all locked up. We are booking another stay soon!

Our family loved Rustic Retreat! The trip to the area was a Christmas present to our four kids, my mom and dad, my brother, sister-in-law and a very excited niece. We were so pleased to find a home which has so much to offer in the way of bedrooms and living space.We really enjoyed the great room where we all could gather after a day on the slopes or tubing or hiking. The kitchen was the best equipped that we have ever experienced from a rental home. Everytime we needed a certain pot or pan or serving bowl, it was right there at our fingertips. The dining table was big enough that we could seat all of us and this was great because we did dine in quite a bit. We loved the fireplace and kept a nice fire going day and night.We also enjoyed the "lodge type" decor throughout the house with all the bears, ducks, moose, etc. We also spotted some real live turkeys and deer out in the woods which was exciting! We think that Rustic Retreat would be wonderful for all seasons and it certainly passed the test for the coldest of times!

House is beautiful and comfortable, has dish tv and xbox.
Location is very convenient to slopes and swallow falls (great trails for cross-country skiing).
Only way to improve would be to add hottub or pool table :)
Driveway was definitely manageable, even in 8 inches of snow. -

We arrived late, in a light snow. The lights were left on, and we had a welcome pack. Off Lake rental personnel readily available and helpful. Tons of wood on the porch. Home was cozy, very clean, very well-stocked and we had a great time. The grill on the deck was out of propane, so we cooked steaks inside. The children loved the snowy woods and using the snow tube. Having the sectionals, downstairs fireplace and TV was great for some adult time. We would gladly stay again. A little bit of a drive to the slopes, and roads fairly snowy, esp. late at night. No possibility of reaching this house without 4 wheel drive, when there is snow. Steep driveway.
A great place for 2 families to share!
Note: No area for skis, boots, poles, or outerwear to be adequately stored when entering a ski home. We missed this from other rentals.Response from Offlake Rentals - 01/07/2010

Beautiful home with all the amenities you need. The rental process was very easy, the home was affordable to rent and it felt like I was at home. I would definitely recommend this very cozy vacation spot.
