Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Eagle's Landing is an attractive and large house on a smaller cove of Deep Creek Lake (near the dam, although you can't see the dam from the house). It has a nice dock, a decent hot tub, a pool table, and small/medium decks off the living room/MBR and kitchen (a downside is that there are no stairways from either deck to ground level, which would make getting to the lake/dock easier). The living and dining area is comfortable with near floor-to-ceiling windows to the lake, and there is an attractive stone fireplace.
The house's condition, although acceptable, leaves something to be desired. Basically, my impression is that it is a house that was loved quite a lot by the owners and their family a few years back, but that they don't spend as much time there as they used to, and don't invest much more than the bare minimum in its upkeep. For example, the mattresses on the twin beds in the downstairs bedroom are just terrible -- I don't think anyone could possibly spend a comfortable night on either of them (which makes me think the owners don't really inspect the place very often). Most of the glassware in the kitchen consists of cheap plastic tumblers that are so dingy and scratched that they must have been purchased a decade ago. The path from the house to the dock has several loose stones that make it somewhat dangerous/difficult for an elderly person to negotiate. The house itself looks like it could use a good coat of paint/stain. Like I said, the overall condition of the place is acceptable, but when a weekly rental runs over $2000 . . . .
Bottom line: don't expect anything close to luxury.
(Basically, I think a lot of these deficiencies could be remedied without significant expense. For example, one could buy decent and inexpensive mattresses and glassware at Walmart, Target, or Ikea; a few more stones for the path to the lake could be picked up at Home Depot or Lowe's, etc.) -

The setting was perfect. Beds were uncomfortable. Pots & pans were in bad shape. No room had switched outlets ( you had to enter a dark room to turn on a lamp). No cable news, sports, or design shows. Most people are not on vacation to watch tv or cook, so these things won't matter. Loved the rest of the house, inside with views, outside with the dock and lake. Far from most restaurants and activities, but worth it if you like privacy and quiet ( which we loved).

Left on 07/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This was our first trip to DCL, and the house was a great introduction to the area and lake rentals. Look at comps - I don't think you can find a lovelier home in this price-range. The house is located in one of the many many coves around the lake. The view is amazing. Swimming off the floating dock was perfect for everyone including 8yr old daughter, there was a ladder on the deck as well. We rented a boat for the week at Deep Creek Marina. Call around to get best rental price. Go tubing on the lake. During the summer months consider bringing add'l fans. If you are bringing food, think of as much as possible to bring because going back-n-forth to the store is time-consuming. The distance between back door and dock is reasonable, but mostly stairs or rocky path. Go to Swallow Falls State Park.
This was a really really pretty home in really good condition, nicely kept up, great for families and pets. -

Eagles Landing was almost perfect in that it had a tremendous Mountain House feel to it, beautiful views of the Lakefront, Incredible amenities for a adults and Kids, and plenty of space. The one thing Eagles Lansing was missing, which would be a showstopper for us in the future, was a few premium channels on Cable. Specifically Espn for us which is normal a part of any standard cable line-up. For us part of the weekend was to enjoy some good College Bowl games together. Other then that the house is perfect and if Espn were added in we would come back every year.

Best rental yet! Would give the location another star if possible! No traffic. Beautiful location. Quiet cove. Home provides the ultimate in comfort. Owners have thought of every detail and we noticed and enjoyed! The book, CD and DVD selection were incredible. We had the best week we have ever spent on a vacation while in this home @ my beloved DCL. Thank you to the owners and Long and Foster for such a wonderful experience. Our return to Eagle's Landing is guaranteed!

Beautiful waterfront home, amazing views and overall a perfect place for a large family gathering. In addition the outdoor decks made an ideal setting for a lakeside wedding. Although the kitchen is well equipped the major appliances need updating. Overall the house is very comfortable, many large screen Tv's, great for kids and adults. The location is very quiet--no road noise and very little boat noise even on the holiday weekend.

This was our first experience renting a house on a lake & it was a great one. We were very happy with the house, the space and the lakefront lot, and very happy we could bring our pets as well. The house is very inviting, spacious & comfortable. We liked the location of the house and having some space and not being right next door to other homes. We did wish there were some chairs on lower level that we could sit in or use to sit on the dock or around fire pit. The kitchen had everything we needed. We did our grocery shopping at the Super Walmart and enjoyed cooking some awesome meals all week long! We enjoyed playing volleyball & horseshoes & the pool table & listening to the variety of Cd's that were available. Our son brought his jet ski & had a blast using it all week, it was great to be able to keep it docked right at the house. We also rented a pontoon boat for a couple days and that was great as well -- it really is a beautiful lake. Swallow Falls is a must see as well! We enjoyed having no schedule and just doing whatever we felt like and not watching the clock. It was a great trip & we would highly recommend this property/house to friends/family and would love to visit again. We would like to thank the owner's for opening up their beautiful home for others to enjoy. We were very happy with the whole rental process provided by Long & Foster as well! It truly was a great trip and none of us wanted to leave!

My husband and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eagles Landing. Our yellow lab especially loved it and we couldn't keep him out of the water! The location was perfect. Right on the lake in a secluded and quiet cove. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and playing volleyball or pool during the day and enjoyed movies, games and the hot tub under the stars at night. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing vacation by the lake!

Rate it 11. We took 10 men from our church on a retreat that everyone enjoyed and will remember. Eagles Landing far exceeded our expectations.
All we had to do was to reach out our hand and there it was. We wanted for nothing!
Eagles Landing made the whole experience. -

We will be booking more weeks in the future.

We've been to Eagle's Landing numerous times now, and we always have a wonderful time. The location is perfect - a quiet little cove on one end of the lake. Our dog can swim to her heart's content with no danger of boaters, and my husband can "play" with his remote control boat for the same reason.
The house itself it beautiful, but could be cleaner. There's no shortage of dust and cobwebs, and I don't know the last time the lakeview windows were washed. Additionally, some of the furniture is literally falling apart, specifically some dining chairs and the loveseat.
Overall this is our vacation spot of choice. It's so peaceful! We love the cove and the lakeside hiking trail. We've stayed other spots and this one hadn't been beaten! -

Franklin, WVLovely home
Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This is the second year we have stayed at Eagles Landing. We really like the location, the size of the home, the fact that we can bring our dogs, easy access to the main floor for our elderly in-laws. The one problem we have found is the fact that there is no TV in the upstairs living room. Our in-laws cannot manage the stairs to go down to watch TV and be with the family. Tv's in the bedrooms are not necessary, having one in the upstairs living room is. The perfect place for a flat screen is over the doors (going out on to the right hand deck). Since we vacation with our in-laws we will have to look for another home that has a TV in the main living room unless the owners make a few changes.
The other complaint we had was there were only 5 TV channels to pick from. Last year there were over 50 channels at the same house. Whats up with that?
I will be checking with Long and Foster to see if any changes have been made before I pick our vacation home for next year. -

We really appreciated that this house had such beautiful views, was so secluded and accepted pets. It was great to stay on the "other side" of the lake and will do it again versus dealing with the congestion in McHenry and the Garret Hwy. There were several maintenance issues that need attention. We took a completed list to Long& Foster. Also, while I understand turn-around is high this time of the year, the house is in dire need of a good long cleaning. For the price we paid, I shouldn't have to clean cobwebs off of the dining room table light. Other than that...would we come back? Most likely, yes.

The location of Eagle's landing is perfect for our family. The house fits all of our needs. Even though the house is a rental it needs some TLC. The lake is quiet and relaxing and the walking trail is great. Our vacation was spoiled by the odors from the sewer. On two occasions the repair men were at the house working. The problem was finally fixed on our last day of vacation.

When you look at the calendar for Eagle's Landing and see that it is booked through most of the summer and then view the pictures, it appears that this is the house to rent.
While the house is very roomy and has relatively easy access to the lake, getting there is half of the problem. The house is located quite a ways off of Route 219. All three of the cars in our party drove past the house. It is difficult to maneuver cars on the drive. I scraped a bit of paint off of my bumper as a tried to back around the curved rock wall in front of the house.
Inside, the house is very roomy. However, it is beginning to show signs of wear. The sofas have holes in the upholstery, in addition to being dirty, as are the bed coverings. The house could also use a good cleaning. Apparently the cleaning service does not believe in mopping the floor or vacuuming for dirt under the beds.
I will admit that we did have a very restful weekend in this house. -

Left on 10/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This was a perfect house for a group of 10 ladies. The Great Room with cathedral ceiling and a gorgeous view of the lake was the centerpoint to our weekend and we didn't want to leave. The kitchen is well appointed and the bedrooms very nice. Being extremely close to the water gave us a lovely view of the water and the mist that swirled each morning. The hot tub was a terrific addition. The thermostats were not accurate, and rooms heated to 10 or more degrees above what was set. So we had to experiment with open windows and resetting or turning off the thermostat, even at freezing temps.

Long and Foster at Deep Creek was great. Very easy to work with. April Teets was so helpful.
The home was realy nice, plenty of room for all of my family and most importantly we could bring our dogs. We really appreciate that, we won't rent a house that does not allow a dog.
The location was secluded and private with beautiful views. Amenities were great...there were just a couple of things that could be changed to make the stay a little more enjoyable. There should be a TV in the upstairs living room. None of our family watches a TV in the bedroom and the TV in the downstairs LR was hard for our elderly relatives to get up and down the stairs to watch it and not enough seating for everyone. It would be a real plus to add a TV to the living room upstairs, then some could be down stairs watching one channel and the rest upstairs watching something else. Also the open room in the basement with the humidifier running constantly was very noisy.
Otherwise we loved the home and plan to come back to the same house next year.
