Great place just not being taken care of properly

Left on 05/22/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Let me start by first saying the cabin was very cute and cozy in style, but the cleanliness was a turn off. The deck was terrible, the grill rusted and dirty from being uncovered, the cover was ripped up and shoved in a corner, same for the fire pit. There was trash all around the yard and on the deck area. The inside of the house smelled of urine from the previous animals stay. Bathrooms were filthy and so was the kitchen. It was hard to get comfortable considering everything smelled of dog including blankets, couches and carpet in the bathroom. I was disappointed bc we paid an early check in fee to have he cabin "ready" for us earlier...and needless to say, someone basically wiped things down (barely) and put out some towels. I will most likely not return to this property unless some carpets are tipped up an furniture is replaced. Let me end by saying that aside from the cleanliness we had a great time and will be usin Long ad foster again, after they fire their cleaning company ;)

Very easy to check-in/out. I was happy to have the house filled with everything you might need to stay. Very clean home and a happy stay!

      Not Pleased

Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We reserved the cabin for the New Years weekend and were driving up from Florida as well as meeting family from Delaware there.

The road is not marked well at all, the houses are not lit at the driveway and the road is not plowed or salted. As a result, we were unable to get up the road to even find the cabin much less get in the driveway. Our tires just kept spinning and we kept sliding. There is also not enough room for more than one car on the road. We lost the entire amount paid. Very very disappointed. Do not recommend this place in the winter at all. Will not do business with this rental agency again.

      Ok Vacation

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The cabin was pretty good except the tv and phone did not work, we missed the opening of Olympics. Also, brought fleas home! They need to get rid of the rugs, fleas love rugs!!!

We had a wonderful time the only complaint was the gas fireplace. The maintence man fixed it once but my husband could not make it work after that. We really enjoyed the bear theme and we would like to come back again soon

We had a very relaxing family vacation.

Left on 10/23/2010 for a stay in October 2010

I would recommend Long and Foster and Bear Springs to a friend. This was our first trip to Deep Creek and our accomodations were great. We probably will not choose Bear Springs again only because of the gaps in the banister and stairs leading to the loft leave room for a child to get through. Next year our son will be able to walk up the stairs and we feel that it would be an unsafe situation. For 1-2 adult couples or a group of friends, this chalet would be perfect.

      Relaxing, peaceful and comfortable

Very nice comfortable cabin in a secluded location. Great if you really want to get away from it all. Short ride to lake and activities. Not a new home and lacks amenities such as a hot tub and wireless internet.

Had a great time at Bear Springs!

Left on 05/29/2010 for a stay in May 2010

We stayed for a week in early May. It rained several days while we were there, with cold temps, so we ended up staying at the house more than planned. The cabin is tucked away from activity and yet still close to all Deep Creek has to offer. The cabin is cozy and comfy; love the big soaking tub upstairs. Heard and saw many bird species and also just basked in the relative peace and quiet.

      Five Stars for Bear Springs!!

Left on 08/21/2009 for a stay in August 2009

My husband, our two sons and I had a wonderful stay at Bear Springs in Deep Creek. The Long and Foster staff was very helpful and friendly. When we arrived at the chalet it was in perfect order. We had visited Deep Creek before but this was our first stay at Bear Springs. It was just lovely. We felt right at home. Our boys (ages 9 & 11) loved having the loft to themselves. We would definitely return. It was on a quite road but the neighbors we did see were very friendly.
