Pittsburgh, PAWe had a great time in the spacious, clean and super comfortable
Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Service was excellent.
The house was absolutely beautiful.
The location was personally not remote enough and the home is situated in a woodsy court, with close-by neighbors.
All of the rooms were spacious. The entertainment area, loft space, deck and hot tub room were the best! We enjoyed spending lots of time relaxing here!
We liked the comfortable atmosphere the best and the closeness of neighbors the least. -

Columbia, MDDecent
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We had a very good stay in the house. Not any issues in it. The maintenance guy was very present in the community whih was nice and he was very friendly. I had sincere difficulties with the rental agency, Long and Foster and their representative Jeannette. No email or phone call was ever retruned on her part. Even in a situation where I was trying to pay the remainder of my balance she didn't care enough to respond. The receptionist was always helpful and really deserves any commision made off this sale.
We are pretty certain that we want to go to Deep Creek again next year but not entirely sure if I want to go through Long and Foster again. -

New Brighton PAVery relaxing...a home a way from home!
Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet around the cabin. The cabin its self was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed to make our stay as carefree as possible. We love the Deep Creek area. All the people are friendly and the weather is amazing! If you need to get away from it all without any effort I would definately suggest Deep Creek. It has become our favorite place to go and we will be back every year!

Ellwood City, PAA Great Getaway Weekend!
Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012
The service was very good and this was our 4th? stay at this cabin. We like the homey atmosphere of the cabin. It is equipped nice with amenties, wood, plenty of extra blankets etc. We enjoy the wood fireplace, but sometimes have difficulty getting it going. The only thing I could suggest is a railing on the steps on the porch. I have a bad knee and arthritis and have to have support with steps. A railing would be very helpful.

Left on 05/02/2012 for a stay in April 2012
One of our best rental experiences ever at DCL. A great cabin atmosphere in a great location. We had a very relaxing weekend-just what we needed. The home was very spacious and had a must-have option for us, a log-burning fireplace with plenty of wood to burn.

MarylandPerfect Christmas!!
Left on 12/29/2011 for a stay in December 2011
From the moment we drove up to a house lit with Christmas lights to relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day, it was a wonderful holiday. We were in the process of moving and with family states away we were "homeless" for the weekend. So it was a wonderful surprise to arrive at a home decorated throughout for the Christmas. Well stocked kitchen and upscale touches throughout. One thing that would have been greatly appreciated was one role of toilet paper to start off with before a grocery run. The hike at Swallow Falls and the waterfalls were beautiful! Enjoyed coffee at Traders. Kids loved the game table.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you had a perfect Christmas-and what a more magical venue! I have noted your suggestion of the toilet paper and we actually are trying to work out a program where we are doing just that because we understand exactly where you are coming from!

Deep Creek Lake, MDFamily friendly
Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our family had a very enjoyable time. Our 6 and 3 yr. old boys liked their own space in the cabin and gave us a nice relaxing time, too. The community the cabin was in is family friendly and a good place for them to ride their bikes safely. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, and my favorite -swinging on the front porch swing.

Bethesda, MDFun Trip, but Hot Tub Was Infected
Left on 12/30/2010 for a stay in December 2010
This was our second trip to the Grin Inn Bear It. The hot tub, fireplaces, soft beds, and general comfy atmosphere are what drew us back. I also like how the place was fully decorated for the holidays. We did the snow tubing at wisp one day, which was a lot of fun.
While we really enjoyed our time here, we did encounter a few obstacles. First of all, the power supply was being finicky. It never completely went out, but specific things, like the stereo and dishwasher would arbitrarily shut off in the middle of use. More importantly, we fear the hot tub wasn't cleaned thoroughly before our visit. All 8 of us ended up contracting Hot Tub Folliculitis, a bacterial infection that leads to numerous red sores on the skin. It took a full week for mine to go away. While I know this is inevitable with hot tubs sometimes (and a risk you take by getting in), we all took the reccomended precautions, like showering.
All in all, it was a good trip that ended bittersweet because of the hot tub incident. We notified Long and Foster, but they didn't offer anything to make the situation right, which was disappointing.
If you stay here or at any other vacation rental with a hot tub, make sure you use it with care. -

My wife and children with spouses and grandchild came for the first time. We had a wonderful time. The condition was great, the furnishings were complete and nice, so we had a relaxing time. The hot tub worked well, the beds were comfortable, the televisions were nice, and we really enjoyed the fireplace. Our children all want to return next year.

Perry Hall, MDIt was a relaxing vacation.
Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The week we stayed was a warm and humid week. The owner of the house had a lockout control on the air conditioner thermostat. It took 2 1/2 days for this issue to be resolved. So those were some warm days in the house.

Elverson, PennsylvaniaThis was our "best ever" family vacation!
Left on 07/14/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This cabin was perfect for us - my husband and me, our two daughters and their husbands. A bedroom and bathroom was located on each of the three floors, giving every couple "private space". We cooked all of our own meals and enjoyed all the comforts of home away from home. It was located very conveniently to the state park, where we used our boat almost every day, as well as other attractions. We especially appreciated that the state park pass was included in the price of the rental. We were very sad to have the week come to an end, and unanimously agreed that we will return to this same cabin again for a future vacation!

Left on 06/19/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We were granted early check in by 2 hours which was a plus. We were in awe of the cute community of cabins. The grounds were very well landscaped and clean - very close in driving distance to the state park beach and Nature Center. The cabin was fantastic, fairly new and clean! With the Tv's, game system, air hockey/pool table and hot tub even when we were back at the cabin we had lots of fun! We are definately planning another trip during the fall or winter so we can use the fireplaces(especially the one on the hot tub porch)! Awesome!

My wife and I stayed at Grin Inn Bear It for a weekend in May 2010 and we couldn't be more pleased. The online pictures don't capture how warm and inviting this and the other similar cabins actually are. They were extremely well appointed and comfortable. We will definately be back.

Leonardtown, MDWe had the perfect family vacation here.
Left on 04/21/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Our family decided to take a last minute Spring Break vacation. My husband and I loved tent camping at Deep Creek State Park fifteen years ago, and thought it would be fun to go back now that we have children. We decided to rent a house instead of camping, though, simply to make things easier all around. After much searching online, we decided to rent Grin Inn Bear It in the Yellowstone Village Community. When we arrived at the house, I was absolutely tickled. It is a real log cabin, but with all the modern amenities! It has all the charm of a rustic getaway, but it also has all the gadgets that will keep the whole family happy. The four children loved the pool table, playstation and hot tub. My husband liked the six flat screen cable tv's and broadband wireless internet. I liked that all linens were supplied... sheets, towels, etc., and the beds were already made! The kitchen had all the modern conveniences. We only went out to eat one time (Uno's Restaurant...yum!) in the four days we were there, because it was so easy (and cheaper)to eat in. The house was very neat and clean, the furniture was very comfortable, and the hot tub had been pre-heated for us! We were five minutes away from the local market, movie theaters and Deep Creek State Park, all of which we went to. Everyone in our family agreed the log cabin made the vacation, because it was so comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. We would definitely rent Grin Inn Bear It again!

Rest and Relaxation
Martinsburg, WVExcellent...as always!
Left on 04/02/2010 for a stay in March 2010
This is the second time we have stayed at Grin Inn Bear It, the fourth time we have stayed at Yellowstone Cabins. If you are looking for rest and relaxation with all the ammenities, this is truely the place. We had a fire in the stone fireplaces virtually the whole time we were there- both in the living room and in the hot tub room. The days seemed to last forever, which is exactly what we where hoping for- deciding what our next meal would be, what movie to watch, or what game to play were our toughest decisions. We look forward to this little getaway every March, when there is still snow on the ground yet you are still able to hike the falls (this year in a tee shirt), and the rates drop due to being out of season. Our thanks to the owners of this cabin- no detail is spared to make a wonderful experience. We are already looking forward to our next trip.

Birthday Ski Weekend let down
Herndon, VABeautiful home but missed being great by some big issues
Left on 02/25/2010 for a stay in February 2010
This home is just as it appears on the website cute and charming. We were not diappointed when we walked in at all. That is once we got in - the house we not ready for check in - had not been cleaned -the incline in the road was so steep that we could not drive up. Had to park in an unrented home and carry our things to the house through a ton of snow. Good for sking not for rolling suitcase and gear. No one told us there was a second entrance we could use! Then the hot tub smelled so bad we could not use it all weekend - huge disappointed as this was a primary feature we wanted in renting the house. The house was not ready at checkin and we had to wait - were give $25 for dinner for 5 people. Rented the house for the 3 bedrooms but the bottom floor and king bedroom never got above 59 degrees so that floor was unuseable. Other minor items that were an aggravation from unshoveled steps, to full garbage and no paper towels. I really loved the house but the 3rd floor is a huge issue and the hot tub. We called to have it looked at as instructed and no one came or ever called back to update us that nothing would be done. We were given a late checkout the last day but that in no way made up for the level of inconvenience we experienced.

Frederick, MDMost Relaxing Vacation Ever!
Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We have been using Long and Foster, inc. Deep Creek Office for four years now for our annual vacation to Deep Creek and they have been nothing but easy to work with and completely professional. We have enjoyed the cabins in the yellowstone neighborhood immensely and can't think of a better place for us. The properties are easy to get to and they are fully stocked from the enclosed hot tub room to the flat screen tvs in every room. And we love having a fireplace in the living room and the hot tub area! Favorite part - the hot tub! Least favorite - the heating doesn't seem to fully reach the basement. All in all, a great vacation!

Washington, PAA Weekend With The Girls!
Left on 10/31/2009 for a stay in October 2009
I rented this home for the weekend for a short vacation with my girlfriends. We travel to Deep Creek every year because it is a central location for the 6 of us who all come from different locations in PA and MD. It is the perfect time for all of us to get away from the every day grind of normal life and relax away from husbands and kids and catch up. We have stayed in several other homes, but this one was the best. It was very clean and it really felt like a home. It was cozy and the people (what few there are in October) are friendly and quiet. Its the perfect retreat to spend a quiet weekend with family and friends. Very relaxing. We had a great time! I highly recommend this home to anyone!

Columbia, MdNew Logcabin in a great location at Deep Creek Lake
Left on 06/28/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Comfortable beds made up with fresh linens. New kitchen appliances. TVs in all rooms and games to keep you busy on a rainy day. We loved the peace & quiet area. The yard was beautiful and well kept. The hot tub is located in a closed room, which is wonderful, and there is a TV in that room also. Only suggestion is, a chair is needed in each bedroom.
