Middleburg Hts, OHExcellent but need one minor upgrade
Left on 06/15/2011 for a stay in May 2011
It was a good vacation, and the Rocky Top property was very good mostly. It was spacious, clean, and all the amenities were the way they were described on the website.
One little problem we had was the non-availability of internet connection or wireless internet specifically. There was no cell signal because of the woods and we had cell phones from ATT and verizon both. So it would have been really helpful, if we could get our phones connect to some wireless network for surfing the internet. -

It was perfect in every way---except the advertised WiFI was woefully inadequate. My son was on call at work and needed that expected service.

Pittsburgh, PaNice place, better hope nothing goes wrong though
Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Pros:
clean and very nice
location was private and easy to access
Cons:
cheap owners
nice but questionable management
The hot tub was broke. The management company didn't contact me until the day of arrival, after the check in time actually. They offered a $50 refund. IMO a hot tub is worth more than $25 a night. Upon my request for an additional refund, they offered $75. There are 4 rooms, a minimum no hassle refund should be at least $100. Very disappointed in how this was handled.
To top it off, a small amount of treated wood was provided for firewood. 1. you don't burn treated wood. 2. enough wood should be provided to last the weekend. Upon request, management delivered a bundle of wood. -

Washington, DCGreat house, but a few problems
Left on 02/01/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Rocky Top is a great house (really cozy and well decorated)-- but it would have been a lot better if the hot tub actually worked. We had confirmed in advance that all of the key features were in good condition (the hot tub being a particularly important one for our group), but we arrived Friday to find someone working on the hot tub outside. Why wasn't this handled earlier that week when there would have been time to fix it? That's still not clear to me, but we were then told they couldn't find the part they needed and we would not have a functioning hot tub that weekend. A huge disappointment. Additionally, as we tried to warm up and make the most of indoor fun, we were frustrated to find the fire wood we were given for the fireplace was rotten and wouldn't light. So, no fire the first night (we had to ask for fresh wood for the second night). The ice cold shower certainly didn't help lift spirits (we were a group of 10 and I think only the first 3 or 4 in the shower actually had warm water). Great house, but a disappointing experience.

A few minor requests to an overall very pleasant stay:
- on-site trash containers
- proper directions from property to office (incorrect on welcome email) -
Annandale, VALovely house, but there were a few issues
Left on 12/28/2010 for a stay in December 2010
We thought the house was lovely, but there were a few things that we felt were not acceptable-- especially since we paid almost $1,400 for 4 nights:
1. The house was VERY under-equipped. There was not even a full set of glasses. For a property that accomodates 10 people, don't you think there should be more than ONE serving bowl? There were certainly nowhere near enough coffee mugs. It was really bare bones.
2. If you say a property can accomodate 10, then it needs to accomodate 10. We pulled out the queen sleeper sofa on the lower level and the spring was broken, which meant the mattress fell through to the floor. That meant 2 less spaces to sleep. Unless that just happened to the last occupants, then that problem should have been fixed before we arrived.
3. The property was not clean. In rooms with exposed beams, dust and cobwebs were hanging from the beams. There was hair in the main level bath when we got there.
4. You should have been upfront about guests having to haul trash away-- big inconvenience.
We had a good time during our trip, but not sure I'd want that property again without assurances that the problems were taken care of. -

We were delighted to have our son's family and our daughter's family together for Thanksgiving. Our paratrooper son is being restationed to the west coast and so this may be the last Thanksgiving for all of us together for several years. We were very pleased that it was in such a nice location and such a beautiful home.

My brothers & sister & I and our families go on vacation every other summer. We've been to Chicago, Illinois and Wilmington Beach, North Carolina. Since we did big city & beach, I decided to do mountain as this summer's choice was mine. I spent a wknd in March looking at the actual properties after using the real estate book to narrow down our choices. Rocky Top turned out to be the absolute perfect choice. The boys (age 10 and 11) had so much fun imagining many battle scenarios in the woods behind the house. I loved the hot tub. The girls (age 16, 14, 13) loved having their own room and also spent lots of time on the deck talking about whatever it is that teenage girls talk about (boys, driving, school, etc). We loved beyond belief the Mountain Coaster. The pontoon boat we rented for 4hrs was fantastic. Oh, and the ice cream is divine! We had a blast! As a matter of fact, a group of moms I know are considering renting from Taylor-Made in a few summers.
Thanks for a wonderful family experience! -

My friend and I rented this cabin to take our wives away for the weekend. The home was in a great location, about 5-7 minutes from the Super Walmart, and 5 minutes or so away from most attractions.
The home is beautiful with cathedral ceilings, a loft, recreation room, etc. I loved opening the windows and hearing the stream of water run down the mountain near the home.
Our only complaint was that trash was left on the front porch from the previous renters. And also a few minor items which are not worth mentioning. Overall our stay was great.Response from Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations - 03/23/2010

Overall it was a nice place to stay. There were some problems with the hot tub thermostat which were not completely resolved during our stay. Also, the basement sleeping areas were much colder compared to the rest of the house, but if you like to sleep cooler, you won't mind. It was a short drive to Wisp Ski Resort which was great. We would rent this property again.
