ODE TO CLARALEA
1. In a glorious setting, among cedars and oaks
The wooded paradise, ClaraLea, welcomes all folks.
To this wood-paneled palace, built with perfection and care,
Came ten happy travelers to spend a week there.
2. The house was set by a cove on a lake.
Cedars and oaks shaded pathways did make.
Mountain laurel and rhododendron sipped at the shore.
Eastern yellow swallowtails and dragonflies flew outside the door.
3. Chipmunks and squirrels sought their daily bread.
Robins and cardinals sang below. Geese honked overhead,
Mr. and Mrs. Mallard Green-Head swam by for a crust.
And our little grand daughter knew that feed them she must.
4. The water was bracing, and a buoy did call
for swimmers to round it, one and all.
One swam 4 laps and 3 swam just two.
Followed by a guard in a kayak who knew what to do.
5. And the deck served for reading and grilling and such.
And eating by sunset of food there was much.
Pancakes were cooked on a griddle so fine,
and many toasts were made with raised glasses of wine.
6. The dock was a place for getting some sun.
And spreading much sunscreen on every one.
As the the sun set in the west, all happily agreed
That no other vacation ever did this one exceed. -
Mechanicsville, VAOutstanding
Left on 03/17/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This house was one of the best we have ever rented and we usually rent a house for vacation at least once a year. This house was outstanding. The kitchen was also one of the best equipped kitchens. There were eight of us and we had everything we needed. Check in is also very easy. We really liked the keyless entry. Since there were so many of us we did not have to worry about keys and keeping track of them. The location is beautiful and there was something for everyone to do. Our thanks to the owners for sharing their wonderful home.

Strongstown, PAClaralea Lodge
Left on 08/30/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We have vacationed in Deep Creek for several years. We were not happy with our house this year. The water heater needs to be much bigger, as I never got a hot shower. The dock should not be advertised for swimming, fishing, or boating as you can not do anything there because of being so shallow. We damaged our boat prop by trying to get in there. There was a strong smell of sewer at the dock on several occassions. The temperature control for the whole house was not good in that it was great in the main area, hot upstairs and freezing in the basement. My thoughts are if you are charging this much for a house, it should be in perfect condition. We have stayed in houses much cheaper but offered much more.

Ashburn, VAClaralea Lodge was Fantastic!
Left on 08/16/2010 for a stay in August 2010
House was great! Very well stocked, especially the kitchen! Had a slight problem with the master bath toilet....tank wouldn't fill unless we adjusted it each time. called mgmt and somehow the maintenance guy (Jeremy) got the message the tv wasn't working instead of the he came, checked out the tvs and left. never fixed the toilet...wasn't a big deal, we just dealt with it. (my mom was there when he came but didn't know we had called about it so wondered why we called about the tvs when they were all working...) no big deal! We LOVED the house and hope to return. rental process was a breeze. glad we switched houses becuz we had originally rented another one and this one turned out to be amazing! thanks so much and hope to return to experience Deep Creek in the wintertime!

This home is really beautiful! The property is amazing - situated at the end of a quiet cove. Great swimming and fishing right from the dock. We had a super visit and hope to come again soon!
