Hnaover, PASpectacularly awesome!
Left on 01/01/2011 for a stay in December 2010
It's not often when an entire family can get away during the holidays for some R & R! A last minute decision was made and Railey Mountain Vacation, specifically "Creature Comforts" vacation home provided the venue for our family to obtain the holiday vacation that we sought! We had an awsome time, the amenities and activities were superb!

Need directions on some of the TVs and main level speakers. Stereo in basement did not work - radio stations. Tv in basement was nice but not good reception. Beautiful view and had a lot of perks - Hot tub, fire pit and boat launch. Nice house. Plenty of room for 12 people.

Second year in a row we stayed here for a little weekend getaway...it was perfect! We had awesome weather which made a huge difference as well. The drive from Pittsburgh is so nice and quick...and we loved the house. There were 12 of us total and we all had a wonderful time!

North HuntingdonGreat home, nice cove, awesome vacation!
Left on 08/05/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed at Creature Comforts with our family and extended family, 14 total. This home has comfortable beds (larger than what we thought we were getting) beautiful furnishing with plenty of storage space. We love how most of the bedrooms are located seperate from the main living areas of the home, great for the babies (and parents)! The kitchen is very well stocked, much more than other homes we've stayed, plenty of utensils and eating ware, and lots of extras, the owners are really thinking about the renters in this home. The expansive deck gives to beautiful views with plenty of outdoor as well as indoor seating. The fire ring down by the water made for great smore making and late night conversation. Great dock with a storage box for water toys, in a nice cove. The natural current pushes toward the dock in this area so be careful docking your boat (this wasn't a huge problem, just had to aim to to the right of the dock). The hot tub is a little older but suited us just fine, hot and bubbly! The master bath in this home houses an enormous jetted tub, which was a great thing or the kids, they loved it! I see how the driveway would be a problem in the winter, it's very steep, but we were still able to back two seadoos in and fit the rest of the cars, so summer time isn't a problem. This is a lovely home, tastefully decorated and nicely landscaped as well. We loved it here and think you will too!

Shrewsbury, PAExperienced Deep Creek renter found pluses and minuses
Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010
I've rented six houses at Deep Creek since 2004 for trips with extended family. Creature Comforts provided some great features... A large deck that could have easily fit double the occupancy limit of the house, A great lake view from a beautiful wooded setting (comfortably away from main roads), an excellent and safe dock with deep water access, a short drive from Railey Mtn headquarters, large bedrooms, a pool table and big screen TV and working high speed wi-fi and a computer. The house also welcomed our dogs. All these amenities served us well and left us longing for next years trip. But in fairness, we found the following negatives... The beds and blankets were sub-hotel quality (clean sheets were provided by Railey), bathrooms were clean but older... mold in the corners, etc. The hot tub was less than inviting - older, water was clear but lots woodsy stuff floating on it, jets shot water out of the tub, no grass area or level area for play (beautiful landscaping and gardens, just don't count on play area), Kitchen was decidedly one cook at a time, but had all the features as advertised, for a six bedroom house, the in-door gathering areas were small - no large great room as in many rentals this size.. (but as noted before, maybe the deck made up for this deficiency)

Arlington, VAGreat property!
Left on 01/07/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We did a 4 day 3 night rental for the New Year holiday. When they say to use caution on the driveway in winter conditions they aren't kidding. In addition to the snow we received the week before, we got an additional 6 inches while we were there which made it impossible to use the gravel steep drive without 4 wheel and even then we had some problems.
This really is a great property and has some great lake front access. It is located only like 5 or 7 minutes from the rental office, not the 15 or 20 they instructed us when we arrived. All of the furniture is very modern. A better television is needed in the upstairs living room though. -

Cambridge, MDBeauiful home on the water and in the woods.

The home was very comfortable and well decorated. It was nice to have the floating dock for the small boat we brought with us. The children enjoyed fishing from the dock and having campfires.

Long Island, New Yorkthree generation family vacation
Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The living arrangements fit our needs but the property was too steep and in need of repair. Made walking very dangerous for my parents (in their 80's) You really need 4 wheel drive for the driveway. This should be disclosed when rented. The walkway down to the dock was very dangerous. Needs some kind of railing and new steps. The house could also have been cleaner especially the screened in room and decks. The dock met all our needs.

Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Nice roomy house with a large kitchen with all the ammenities for home cooking. Pool table and big screen TV in the downstairs living room are a big plus for this rental. Also, the large dock was great for our boating/fishing needs. We stay here ever year!
