Started out poorly. Given wrong key; had to drive back to office for correct key. Cleaning staff showed up at 4:00 (our supposed check-in time) and we had to wait outside for
1 1/2 hours while they cleaned the house. Cleaning not very thorough. Had to call housekeeping next day to remove dirty linens from front porch. One refrigerator broken. Location next to lake very nice. However, disappointed that there was no walking area by home - had to drive to a park area. Disappointed there was no beach area by the lake. -

Dcl is excellent - the weather was wonderful and there's a lot to do - fun for all ages. Our extended family has vacationed here every summer since 1996. However, the house we have been renting is showing signs of age and is not being cared for by the owners. They are trying to sell the house so that's not surprising. A simple example - this home sleeps 21 people and there's a nice big kitchen, but there are no longer any hot pads, knives that actually cut, pans that aren't completely burned, etc. They haven't replaced anything that's been lost or broken. Many repairs are needed. We mentioned this to Railey last year, but there have been no improvements.

Everything was to our liking from the easy check-in to the very easy check-out. The house exactly fit our needs. We rented a pontoon boat and kayaks so we particularly enjoyed the convenience of being on the lake with a boat slip. We had a full house but never felt cramped. It was just a great weekend.

Enchantment is an understatement. My family and I visited Deep Creek for the first time and stayed in the "Enchantment" which we enjoyed so much that we have started a tradition of visiting Deep Creek every year around the same time, we have rented other houses some with pools others without but none of them compare to the Enchantment, maybe because it was our first or maybe because it was more of a "home" than a "house". Enchantment is wonderful a home away from home, comfortable, affordable and close to everything movie theater, Wal-Mart, etc. We just really felt at home in the Enchantment.

We stayed at the house over Labor Day weekend. The 3rd free night is a wonderful promotion. The house was roomy and clean. We did have few problems: We had an issue with bees several people were stung. The kids could not go play outside in fear of being stung. After calling an exterminator we had to cancel plans to make sure we were home when he came. He came and took care of the bee problem by spraying the several hives he discovered.
However after he left we discovered other large volleyball sized hive under the deck. We were not able to go enjoy the large deck of the house (a few people were allergic to bees) lucky they were not stung however some kids were while playing on the deck.
The weather was beautiful and the house had a beautiful view but we could not enjoy it properly. We have pictures and video of the bee hives if you are interested. Now that outdoor actives were not an option we decided to watch home movies from a camcorder. After checking the TV we discovered the TV?s were old and none had a connection we could use.
We purchased full insurance and all the extras so we would be able to enjoy our vacation. I don?t believe it was fair we had to go through this ordeal on a vacation. If this was my house I would take care of it. I certainly did not plan on wasting my ?vacation? dealing with bees.

What a beautiful and spacious home! My family had a reunion to celebrate my 40th birthday and I couldn't have hoped for a more perfect weekend. There were 24 of us (ranging from 1 -82 yrs) and we were all comfortable and cozy thew whole time. The house is perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The service was great too.
Our only suggestion is to have a cover for the fire pit.
