Description from the manager
Perched on a hillside at the end of a quiet country road, Grand View overlooks shimmering blue lake water and the surrounding mountains. Recently redecorated, the stylish décor, hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings further enhance this already elegant chalet. Watch the sun rise over the trees, reflecting onto the misty morning water, as you relax on the deck and sip your morning coffee. The private dock is a summertime essential where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating or simply lounging in the sun. Centrally located, you’re just a short drive from many area activities. Skiing, golf, restaurants and more are all within 10 minutes....Read more

BaltimoreIt is a grand view
Left on 11/26/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We have been vacationing in Deep Creek for over 20 years and this is by far the very best house and view. I can't say enough about the view as it is beautiful in the morning, at sunset and even at night! Grand View was also very clean - you would never know it is a dog house. I hope to return.

Frederick, MDSpacious, comfortable house, needs more chairs and more parking
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Apparently the previuos tenant trashed the house so we had to wait while clean up was made. Also one bedroom was practically useless because water had seeped in from a rain gutter that was iced up. However, your maintenance crew worked hard to fix it and it probably would be O.K. for next tenant. This is the second time we have stayed in this house and we liked it overall. It is spacious, has a beautiful view and is comfortabe generally. However, it needs more chairs. We had to drag in chairs from other rooms to seat the whole family in the living room. Also, you need more than one chair in each bedroom. In addition the parking area is pretty limited.

Left on 12/01/2010 for a stay in November 2010
This beautiful home has been our "holiday house" for the past five Thanksgivings. Three generations enjoy it's amenities. We even managed to use it one summer. The lake was put to good use with all the water crafts.

The entire stay was an incredible experience! I would recommend your establishment to everyone! The only recommendation is that the sleeper sofas be repaired.

Heat was not working the first night we stayed and the temp was chilly that eve. If cold weather is moving in, you need to make sure heat is working in your rentals. My elderly parents were quite chilly that eve. The furnace was fixed the next morning (sep 17).
The rest of the stay was nice. Hot tub was nice. Dock was good, but disappointed in the low water. -

New JerseyPerfect Cousins Reunion Retreat
Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We traveled with a group of 11 of our cousins. This house fit our needs perfectly. The cleanliness of the house was fantastic. We had an issue with the hot tub cleanliness and we called the realty company and they had the hot tub tech out within an hour. Although many of us had to travel far to come to Deep Creek Lake, it was gorgeous and we definitely will return here in the future. Dealing with Railey Mountain Lake Vacations was great! They were very accommodating to our needs and check in & out was very easy.

Lower Burrell, PA16 years in Deep Creek with friends
Left on 09/27/2010 for a stay in September 2010
During the 16 years we've been coming to Deep Creek this house is by far the best we've stayed in. We enjoy renting from Railey because they are friendly and accommodating. We love the early check and they work with us to see that we are able to get in early. I don't think there was a thing we didn't like about this house! It was well equipped with everything you could possibly want/need. There was nothing the owner spared expenses on and it absolutely showed. A special thank you for going thru the hoops to get the fire pit reinstated/certified. That is a must for our group and had you not done that we would've never found this gem of a house!! I don't think they'd care if we slept on the floor as long as there was a fire pit. The location was perfect! A wonderful view of the lake and accessible. What we liked best, everything! So much so that even though we don't need this big of a house for 2011 we reserved it again. There was enough parking for everyone, the floor plan was open and inviting, the 2 refrigerators and dishwashers were helpful. Just an amazing place. As for something we didn't like, if I have to say something, add a desk lamp by the computer, it was kinda dark in that area, unless there was a switch we missed. Other than that, nothing, not a darn thing! One suggestion for the owner, purchase a 1 step stepstool w/o a back (we did see the 2 step stool in the closet). We did have a handicapped person in the group. It was nice to see that there were some provisions for that (seat for shower). Just one thought, if you had a handicapped person in your group, how did they ever get into that bed? Lol We had to buy a step stool at Wal-Mart so that they could get into bed. Guess being short and handicapped aren't a good combo. Not a problem for us next year, it's already packed with our Deep Creek stuff. We are all excited and looking forward to next year's trip (346 more days).Thank you for opening up your home and allowing us to enjoy it's beauty.

Baltimore, MarylandWe love lakefront at Deep Creek Lake
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in July 2010
GrandView is a stunning house on a beautiful lakefront lot on Deep Creek Lake. The pool table and foosball table were used extensively by everyone. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped and we took full advantage of it (we do lots of cooking on vacation). The large dining room table easily accomodated the 15 people we had one night for dinner, and it also worked well for all the games we played. The outdoor fireplace pit on the way to the private dock was a great finishing touch for those frequent late-night fires for smores. All-in-all, one of our favorite houses that we've stayed in over 18 summers on DCL.

WisconsinLove Deep Creek!
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The house was wonderful but there were a couple of things that could be improved on. The outside decks and windows could be hosed down. There were so many dead bug and dirt it was a bit uncomfortable and not conducive to spending time out there. The biggest problem was the drive in and parking. It is so difficult to turn around and having to back out is not a great option. I am not sure what can be done about that but it is enough of a problem that we may consider another house which is too bad since the house was a perfect size for us and we loved the location on the lake.

A Grand Vacation!
Harrisburg, PAA most wonderful vacation in the Grand View
Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We had a ball! The house was beautiful and the location on the cove was great. We rented a pontoon boat and tubes and kayaks and spent part of every day on the water or in the water. We were there 4 years ago with the same group and we had a great time then too. The younger crowd is 4 years older and they were quite content with the accomodations and the things to do. (I hope someone read our notes about the loose dock and a couple of minor thiongs that needed attention)

Beautiful home right on the lake. Very clean and spacious. Fantastic hot tub and beautiful decks! The only problem is parking in front of the house - it is sparse, but there is a lot not far from the house.

Left on 10/14/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Seven families stayed here for a long weekend in October. It was beautiful and perfect in every way. The closed in proches allowed the toddlers to enjoy the outside without having to worry about them running into the lake while the older children could play in the sand or fish off the dock. The kitchen was beauitfully equipped and space was not a problem! Highly recommended!
