Journey's End, overall, was a quality home which has been well kept. Our family all commented positively on the home. However, a couple of items should be addressed.
1. While the home was very clean, the large dust webs looming in ceiling corners seemed an obvious, long-term oversight. The hair and dust accumulation in the main floor master suite's headboard was disturbing.
2. Maintenance of both kitchen ovens. One oven has a control panel that may fall off at any moment. The second oven's door fell apart.
We were most disappointed with Railey Mtn's general attitude. Our family has been a repeat renter over the past 8 years, as much as 2x per year. The inability to wave the $42 fee for early entry into a home which was not occupied 3 weeks prior to our check-in, after paying an additional 15% holiday surcharge, was petty. Apparently, the $4,000 rent for 3 nights wasn't enough.
Lastly, the staff was not concerned that one of our family members was burned from catching the oven glass which fell during use. A result of missing parts to the oven door.
In short, the home itself is well above average; Railey staff & policies are not.
Fort Washing MD.
We enjoyed the home.

We would stay at Journey's End again. This is a nice house.

The house layout was great...space to spread out and in a nice quiet part of the lake. Only downside was that there was not any flat land beyond the driveway for the kids to play outside and the lake is mucky and grassy. We ended up taking the boat out that I had rented and went swimming off the boat. Swimming off the dock would not have been so great. This was a small inconvenience for a well stocked, well laid out, well maintained house on a beautiful part of the lake.

WE have rented a weekend in december for several years running. This is our family Christmas gathering. The stays are always good family fun.
On a few of these we have traction (snow) problems getting out of the driveways. It would be great if the drives of the rented homes were kept navitable.
WE will be back next Dec.
Journey's End Review

This was the 2nd year we have rented Journey's End. Overall, we enjoyed Journey's End. The house is well laid out. The rooms are all very large. The house is plenty large enough for our family to spread out and yet have an enjoyable dinner around the large dining room table. The dock and access from the house is set up well. It is a bit busier area of the lake and therefore a little noisier than when we stayed in a house off Mayhew Inn road (telstar.gon). Our only suggestions would be a more thorough cleaning of the house. We felt that because it was relatively early in the Summer season the house should have had a "deep cleaning" prior to our stay. There were cobwebs as well as dust on head boards, around the window on the upper level, on the top of the kitchen cabinets and really dirty under both fridges. (We had little ones that dropped their magnets under the fridges!) There were bats at night which appeared to be coming out of the attic area.
Thank you for the opportunity to express our opinion.

We decided to rent a house with six other couples to celebrate our 60th birthdays together. The house met our needs perfectly. Each lovely bedroom had its own bathroom. The dining room table was large enough to accommodate all of us. The views from the balconies were gorgeous. Altogether a wonderful weekend.
