The home was beautiful and well appointed. However, the exterior was not very clean. We had to call maintenance to clean the deck and hot tub.

We really had a lovely time. The view of the lake was spectacular, the house was wonderful, check in was easy and quick, the kitchen was big enough to accommodate 16 people trying to eat in the morning. The location on the mountain really facilitated a wonderful weekend, about which I am already nostalgic.
Good Times, Good Food, Great Friends!!

This house is amazing!! For my group of 14 friends/family, there was more than enough room. The layout of the house was just perfect. We spent most of our time on the main floor in the kitchen and let me tell you, it was great! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need! This is house that we will definitely rent again, we loved it!!!

The house is well situated and has a great view of the lake. My friends and I have rented this house 4 times now. The house keeping is usually okay. The kitchen is well equiped for anything you would want to do. Railey Mountain Lake Vacations does promptly take care of issues that need immediate attention.

This is our 4th year in this house and we had a great time once again. Nothing like great friends in a beautiful house for an awesome weekend (no kids helps too!). The kitchen/great room combination works so well for us. We'll be staying there again next year!!!

The house has a great view of the lake. It is starting to look a little run down but with a little work and some updates it could be a very nice place to stay.
Beautiful location and house / slow customer service
Left on 07/03/2010 for a stay in June 2010 | Wes Schultz
We enjoyed our stay at Scenic Overlook at Deep Creek Lake. The house had beautiful views, was spacious, clean and was well layed out for our three families that shared the space. Our only real complaint was the slow response we got from customer service in response to several issues with the house: grill and oven broke, Direct TV was out of service until the last day. We had to make over 5 trips to office in person and were on the phone with someone there nearly every day of our visit. While your staff was always pleasant when we talked with them, we felt they were slow to respond and left us having to check back on the progress of repairs. In the case of the satellite TV, your office even asked us to be on the phone with Direct TV customer service and let them into the house etc... These maintenance details should not be put in the hands of your guests. In my mind, after we notified your office of these problems they should have sent someone up to the house and dealt with Direct TV themselves, until the issue was resolved. The compensation we revieved for these issues was appreciated but didn't change the fact that we ended up dealing with home maintenance and slow customer service on our vacation.
Beautiful house, beautiful location

This house is in a perfect place for view. Very comfortable, well decorated, clean. Plenty of dinnerware and glasses, etc. All we needed was a salt and pepper shaker! This was our third stay in this house, and we are never disappointed. We just wish the fireplaces would work. We've tried numerous times to follow the directions to no avail.

This is our second year at Scenic Overlook and we love it. The house is meticulous and beautiful, with a incredible view. We love the open kitchen and the family room combination. Don't forget to bring extra batteries for all of the remotes (the remote batteries were either dead or there were none. And there are quite a few remotes!)
Will stay at Scenic Overlook again next year!!!
Spectacular View - Nice House

1. Check In - Called ahead and got approved for early check-in but when we arrived were told they were making repairs and we could not check in early. The weather was bad so we had no where to go. After a short wait we were allowed to check in.
2. Many TV's in house but only one of them worked.
3. Head rests in hot tub had mildew on them. We had to take them off because we did not want our heads resting on mildew.
4. The house was very nice. It was an added bonus having garages especially since it was pouring down rain when we arrived so we could unload our cars in the garage and did not have to get wet from the rain. The view was spectacular and the multi layer decks were a very nice touch.
5. The road down to the house was very steep and it was a "tight" turn into the driveway, but otherwise the location of the house was great.
We really liked the property and especially the view. We were there for a girls' weekend and the layout of the kitchen and dining area was very nice because you could be in on the conversations in the living and dining areas even while you were cooking in the kitchen. We liked the garage access also.
Least liked was the fact the only one TV worked and the mildewed head rests in the hot tub were gross!
I have rented from Railey before and will probably rent from them again.

We stayed at Scenic Overlook over Superbowl wknd in 2008. It was snowing most of the time we were there, and loved it. The only issue for us was that the house is basically on the side of the cliff. Even with our 4 wheel drive vehicle, the roads were very narrow and had a very close call down the cliff.
We were afraid come/go, so we stayed at the property most of the weekend. The home was wonderful. The view from the great room was beautiful, one of the BEST ones on the lake. I like the way the bedrooms were on different levels. We had the master bedroom. It was spacious, with lots of light/windows and desk/computer. The hot tub view was perfect, overlooking the the lake, but a little bit of a walk out the back door. The gameroom was on the lower level, which was perfect because we had kids sleeping on the upper levels. Large garage and mudroom, which was great for boots, skiis, snow gear etc.
Overall, we enjoyed the house. The view was outstanding, but it was at a price on a very narrow, steep property.

Railey Mountain Vacations' staff was friendly and knowledgeable. our vacation this past summer was one of the best vacations i have ever taken. The view from scenic overlook was breataking. We were able to sit and see all of the wonder our God has created. We were able to enjoy watching other vacationers as they had fun on the lake. The home was spaciuos and filled with many amenties for our familt to enjoy. We also enjoyed the community, and all of the acticities available. My children especially enjoyed swimming at Swallow Falls. my husband and I enjoyed taking in a game of tennis and relaxing on the deck. We absolutley loved our time spent in Deep Creek.

The place had a spectacular view - the home was clean. the only problem was the hot tub did not work - this was one of the amenities that my group looked forward too - we were disappointed that even though a service person was sent the next day it could not be fixed. The staff at the realty company knocked money off the price of the home, but considering it is difficult to get everyone together because of work schedules we were a little disappointed.
