This cottage may not be much to look at from the curb, but its interior is very tastefully and well appointed with all the modern comforts. The owners have even left items for guest use like trash bags, cleaning supplies, a hairdryer, etc. Nice touches! Kids will appreciate the board games and the additional flat screens in the bedrooms. Adults will love the impeccably clean hot tub. And everyone will love the beautiful views of the lake from the living room and deck. Property has a great location and we were so glad to have our dog with us (he loved the lake)! Now if there was just a working canoe or kayak for guests...:)

This was the most wonderful vacation we've ever taken from beginning to end. Starting with the first phone call to Railey where the people were very friendly and helpful. I have a disabled son that needs a wheelchair and the person I spoke to was very upfront and honest about certain houses that would make it hard for him to get around. I appreciate that she didn't just try to rent us anything and when we got there we'd be surprised to see that we couldn't get him in the house. She was very informative as she decsribed this house perfectly on the phone. This was the easiest check in procedure I have ever handled. Even thought there were many people checking in at the same time I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for assistance and everything was ready. When we arrived at the house we very excited about the location of it. We purposely asked for a Lakefront house with flat ground so that our disabled son could watch the lake "traffic" as there is little else he can do. The girl I spoke to told me that we'd be better off choosing this location over the southern end and that was great advise. This house was perfect for sitting on the deck and watching all the lake fun as it had a perfect view of the lake. The inside of the house was very, very clean...not a thing out of place and I also appreciated that the sheets for the sofa beds were place in easy view of the sofas so I didn't have to search for them. The cleaning staff must be top notch. Everything was perfect. This house had more amenities than we even expected. It has every kitchen appliance that you could think of. We even had an outside firepit which made our evenings even more special. I can't think of a singe thing that I didn't like about this place. The house was beautiful and well kept and in a great location. In fact, if we could ever afford a house in Deep Creek it would be this exact house. It was absolutely the best vacation that we ever took. Thank you so much for your service.

We liked the old stile cottage with the updated interior everything that was remodeled was done first class, plus the fact the waterfront location was perfect.

Stayed at Sunny Escape for a girls weekend get away. Home was cozy, yet roomy. Bedrooms were comfortable. But the most wonderful part was the front deck and the views of Wisp Mountain and the lake. A wonderful experience.

We all loved the house, location, yard, etc. One huge flaw that we all really wanted was some sort of fire pit in the backyard. We had friends who were about 5 houses down on the same street, also rented with Railey, and their home had a fire pit in the yard. This is a wonderful place to roast marshmallows and enjoy the evening outside. Next year we probably won't rent the same place due to the lack of this one item. Overall though, we really enjoyed the property.

very roomy, great for teenagers, easy access. My mother uses a walker and the property is great access for her, only a few steps and the walk to the dock was easily accessible to her. my dog loved the water and was fun for the kids swimming, very, nice!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sunny Escape! The accomodations were very nice and the house was in a great location. There were a lot of flies in the kitchen when we arrived - we fought them for most of the week, and by the end of our stay they were mostly gone. We recommend ensuring that the cleaning staff and house guests keep doors closed at all times.

Yes, i was the one who fell and broke her leg! I have been a guest of Railey for almost twenty years and have always thought a lot of your service. But your staff went above and beyond when I fell, alone in the house, and broke my leg. Melody came over right away, opened the house and called the ambulance, by that evening I was back "home" at Sunny Escape comfortable on the couch where I spent the rest of my vacation. I would not recommend the broken leg to anyone, but you all were great. I will be calling in the next week or so to book for the fall-preferably a house with no steps!!!

We truely enjoyed Sunny Escape and all its amenities. I am sure in the summer this rental has a beautiful view of the lake as well. Our view was beautiful what you could see over the heaping mounds of snow!! Other than the leaking water (torture) in the bedroom windows (king and queen) while trying to sleep(which we did everything in our power to try and correct), our trip was truely everything we had hoped for and more! Thanks to Railey Realty and the property owners.

My family and I enjoyed the house, but one of the bathrooms (the one right off of the main room) had some sort of a sewage pipe issue which gave off a terrible smell, leaving that bathroom completely unusable the entire weekend. We called to have a plumber look at it but it didn't help. We had to keep that door closed but could still smell it in the next bedroom. We chose the house because we had 6 people and needed at least 2 bathrooms...but beacuse of this problem we all had to share 1.

We liked the home very much. It was ideal size for four adults, 1 2-year old and a Beagle dog. Since we were there to ski, we found the location to be very good.
The weather was very snowy, windy and cold while we were there through New Year's but we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunny Retreat.
Thought the house was well equipped and well laid out. The flatware in the kitchen should probably be upgraded.
We will probably consider staying there again, perhaps in the summer the next time.

My husband and I decided to go to Deep Creek for our 5 year anniversary. This time we wanted to take our dog with us, but the cabin we had stayed in for our 1 year anniversary, and enjoyed, didn't allow dogs.
We were a little confused when we first pulled up to the cabin, as the neighbors are kind of close and the side of the cabin that you pull up to from the road isn't stone, but siding. However, once we got into the cabin, we were VERY pleased. The place is a great size! Much bigger than we needed for just the two of us, with 3 bedrooms and 2 sleeper sofas.
The kitchen was clean and equipped well, although if you are a big cook, it might be cook to bring some of your own utensils because there were some essentials, like a whisk, that were missing. However, I was able to cook breakfast, dinners, and bake desserts just fine with what was available. The dish washer could probably be updated too.
The bedrooms were all nice, with cathedral ceilings, flat screen tv's (two of which had built in DVD players), and adequate linens. The main bathroom did have a funny smell to it, though. The living room is very large, with a good size tv and dvd player, plus a few movies and games to enjoy. The decor was "cabin-ie." And, our dog made herself comfy by the fire, all though since its been converted to gas, it doesn't really put out heat, but it looks nice!
The hot tub and deck were really nice! We couldn't get the outside lights working, but we preferred the privacy at night anyway. Despite the houses being close together, the lot is still fairly private, although we do recommend a privacy fence on the side that the hot tub is on. And, the view was great! We were lucky that our last night there was a clear night so we could enjoy the stars.
The cabin is also in a GREAT location! Some say it's off a main road, but it was quiet while still be very close to the restaurants, shops, and movie theater.
I would definitely recommend this for a couples OR families. -

Sunny Escape is a beautiful home to rent. It is everything a person would want for home away from home. The furnishings were in good taste and we liked King size beds, but I thought the tilt back chair was akward to keep in a tilted back position and I don't think the TV, DVD Cable Box controls were user friendly. I enjoyed our stay. The location is good, the driveway is on the steep side but it didn't present a problem. I would not hesitate to rent Sunny Escape again.

we enjoyed the house (although the layout was a bit odd -- would rather the kitchen be part of the living area! BUT we had a wonderful time, the books were great, we enjoyed the hot tub and just had a quiet long weekend walking, reading and watching movies in front of the fireplace, playing cards and using the hot tub

The service was commendable. The refrigerator was leaking on arrival and was fixed quickly. The TV didn't work and was also fixed quickly. Nice house nice amenities and decor-the yard was very sloped and was not the best for throwing ball with the dog. The road the house is on is not suited for taking walks-not a wide road and a busy road but if outside walks aren't an issue .

WE very much enjoyed our stay at Sunny Escape. It was very clean and private. Having our own private dock was great. There was plenty of parking.It was close enough to everything, yet far enough away. It was really nice to sit in the yard and watch the boaters on the lake. My husband really enjoyed being able to get in his boat and go fishing or even fish off of the dock. Our friends and family that were with us also really enjoyed our time.
