Columbus, ohWonderful
Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010
The house was great. Very clean, except for mouse droppings in a couple draws. Kitchen stocked with all utensils, winter view was beautiful. Difficult to get home at comfortable temp, too warm upstairs and downstairs too cold.

Lancaster PAGreat get together for family
Left on 10/20/2010 for a stay in October 2010
The house was great - we need to know when to come in time to hire a boat. When is the last weekend of boating - we would like to rent a boat.
We cannot believe that you do not give at least hotel soaps, toliet paper etc. Otherwise it was very nice. -

PittsburghBelow expectations
Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in September 2010
My husband and I spent over $3,000 on renting this house for a nice Labor Day weekend with our family. This house was below our expectations due to the following:
- Terrible bedding and mattresses
- Tv's were out of date
- Hardly any cable channels!!! Couldn't even watch the tennis open! Need to get digital boxes for Tv's.
- Couldn't use the hot tub much due to the uncleanliness of the surroundings. The decking above the hot tub had tons of spiderwebs, very disturbing when you sit in the hot tub. Very dirty all around the hot tub area.
- Porch furniture was poor. The picnic table is in poor condition and not enough patio furniture to accomodate all the people in the house. Had to bring chairs up from the lower level. Great deck and view but was very disappointed not having enough chairs for all our guests.
- Dirty laundry was not picked up promptly - sat on our porch overnight!! -

Ashburn, VADisappointing house, Disapointing Railey service!
Left on 09/08/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed in this house approximately 3 years ago and remember a quality home, great location and great support through Railey, whom we have rented different homes through directly and indirectly at least 12 times. This year, we expected the same. But that wasn't the case this visit. Check-in staff was friendly and courteous as usual (the same for the reservations staff!). Upon arrival to the house, we notice the upkeep of the exterior landscape was a little 'worse for wear' - a worn and broken wooden bird carving was laying in the front flower bed as one example. Once inside, most things looked good until we started to unpack. Two main kitchen light bulbs were burnt out and in the lower master bedroom shower, the light fixture was hanging from the ceiling and the bulb out there too. So I contacted the Railey maintenance line and the female said "I was just there and I didn't see anything (like that)" inferring what I was reporting couldn't have existed, so I reiterated that we just checked in and indeed the problems existed. She said someone would come to fix the items that night. No one showed up! I called again the next morning, and finally a nice young man arrived, who was very courteous, and repaired both problems, including screen doors that had screens hanging from the frames.

Crownsville, MDWe were very disappointed in the condition of the house.
Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in July 2010
While we were very happy with the location of the house and its access to Deep Creek Lake we were very disappointed with the condition of Tamaqua Lodge. When we arrived the house had not been cleaned, dirty sheets, dirty towels, dirty floor, etc. Mattresses in several of the beds were extremely uncomfortable and pillows were obviously very old. The shower heads in three of the bathrooms were horrible, squirting water everywhere but where you would expect it. There was an old, rusting, unusable grill on the deck and several broken chairs under the deck. The pilot on the working grill had to be ignited. When it was it sent out a burst of flames that burned the hair off my son's arm. The television channel guide was outdated. We had to put new batteries in the fan remote for it to work. Windows were very dirty, not something one would expect so early in the season. For the amount of money we spent, we expected clean and comfortable.

Frederick, MDGoing downhill
Left on 06/30/2010 for a stay in June 2010
My family had previously stayed at this house for a week in the summer of 2007. We were quite impressed during that visit and decided to come for another week in 2010. The place seems to be going downhill. Two very dirty and broken grilles were sitting on the deck. Several broken chairs were under the deck. The landscaping is overgrown with weeds. the gutters have weeds growing in them. The stove needs replaced. The walkway to the dock was off -set 3 feet from the stairs going down to it. I am pretty certain we will look for another place nest time we return to Deep Creek.

SNOWED IN
Washington, DCNOT GOOD AT ALL!!
Left on 02/24/2010 for a stay in February 2010
I have stayed at several properties in Deep Creek, but this property I was not pleased with at all. The ceiling leaked for the entire 3 days of our stay we had to line the floor with towels and had pots on the floor so that water would drip into the pots. The dirty laundry from the formal guest was left at the front door our entire stay. The front of the property was full of snow and ice as well as the driveway with several shovel placed outside as if it was for us as the guest to shovel our way into the propery.

This was a very clean and spacious house. My friends and family had a great time using all of the amenities. It was close to skiing but still had a quiet atmosphere. I would stay in this house again and again.
