Pittsburgh, PARelaxing winter getaway to get us thru to spring.
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Break away Chalet was a great place to get away with our family and friends to relax, play games, eat, drink and enjoy the quiet in the hottub. It is very spacious and comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy a much needed break. We went in February so the kids could ski. This chalet is located close enough to hop in the car and get everywhere quickly but far enough away to enjoy the quiet. We have been escaping to Deep Creek at least once or twice a year since 2000. It is my decompression vacation.

Service was impeccable, the house was in a great location and easy to get to. The cleaning service must not have been on par that week because we found pieces of broken glass under the dining table. Other than that it was a great place to stay and the staff at Railey was super great to work with.

The house was great. We took our teenagers there with some friends for the weekend and they had a great time. There was plenty of room, the amenities were wonderful. The kids especially liked the fire pit and making smores.

Annapolis, MDGreat family weekend at Break away Chalet!
Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Had a great long weekend with my family (wife, 2 teenage sons, 2 dogs). Well appointed and good value with a great location for skiing and state park visits. Plenty of room and privacy for all when needed, but a comfortable space for our whole group as well. Will plan to revisit hopefully in the summer season!

We love the Deep Creek Lake area during the winter /Christmas season, it is so peaceful, beautiful this time of the year. My teenagers love snowboarding at the Wisp Resort that is only minutes away..The home was amazing, so comfortable with everything we needed, plenty of warm blankets, and the kitchen provided us with all we needed for preparing nice hot meals after a day on the slopes...Railey Realty provided us with everything we needed even bringing a brand new coffee pot out to our rental home so that we could have the two kinds of coffees our family enjoys made at the same time...thank you Railey Vacation Home Rentals for an amazing family christmas vacation!!!

The house was very cute and comfy. However, the bedroom upstairs has no door, it's like a loft. The pictures really don't do the house much justice. It was nicer than expected. :) I would definitely stay here again if we come with a small group again, but we will probably have a bigger group in the future.

Pittsburgh, PAFun!!!
Left on 10/27/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I've rented from Railey many times over the years, would never rent from anyone else! The service is always outstanding. The new feature of free Dvd's at check-in makes it even better! This house, Break-Away Chalet, is a gorgeous home and the location suited us perfectly. We brought along 6 teenagers and with this house located several hundred feet away from the basketball and tennis courts, I can't recall how many times they walked down there to play. Loved the hot tub, loved all the rooms. Extremely comfortable beds. If I had to complain about something, it might be the open loft bedroom and only because with so many teenagers, it was hard to block out the noise when I wanted to sleep. But that was only because they were so much fun, playing games at the dining room table, watching movies, eating late at night. They also spent countless hours playing pool. We didn't, however, see a foosball table which I thought was supposed to be there and also, there were no nets at the tennis court and one basketball hoop was broken, but they still were able to play. Even my dog enjoyed it. With so many nice places to walk with her, it took her 3 days to recuperate after we got home because she was so tired

The house was great, so clean and so nice. It had everything. The hot tub was great and so is the kitchen. We will vacation in Deep Creek again and we will be sure to check the Break away Chalet for availability.

Pittsburgh, PAA nice house.
Left on 02/16/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Break Away Chalet was a good house. We went down at the wrong time so we really got experience the house. When we were there we got the snow storm of about 39'. The house is cute, cozy. The only thing I really did not like was the upstairs bedroom is wide open and there is no door. So when the sun starts coming out, your up. The light shines right in from the living room. It also bugged me because I went to bed early one of the nights, while the rest of the party stayed in the livingroom...you can hear everything and all the lights are on. Besides the bedroom upstairs, the only other problem we had was the pool table. A piece of the pooltable was maybe broke so the balls would not come back out we had to keep shuving our hands in to get them out. It is a gorgeous house and has a lot of potential. And of course Railey was wonderful. Anything we needed they were there right away. We got snowed in, I called they had a plow truck there in not even 10 minutes. It was an all around amazing trip.

MarylandGreat Winter Break!
Left on 10/14/2009 for a stay in February 2008
This is a great place to say for a winter getaway. The house was perfect for our group of 4 adults and three kids. the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but I recommend that you do not go there in the winter without AWD or 4WD. We witnessed several vehicles get stuck or slide off the road trying to get through the neighborhood that were not adequate for winters in Western Maryland. The street was really quiet, and there was a lot of snow so the kids enjoyed sledding on the streets. they are the perfect grade for sledding!

Thanks for letting us know your vacation experience at Break Away Chalet was enjoyable. Western Maryland winters can indeed be rough, and we recommend bringing a weather appropriate vehicle and equipment. Glad you enjoyed the sledding and we hope to see you stay with us again soon!
