With a 96 year old father at home it's very hard to get any respite. A house in the woods was a great place to be. My only hopes would have been that it was closer to the lake.

Bunbury Cottage is a cozy little place nestled amid the trees in heart of
Deep Creek. 8 of us stayed for 2 days, and it was just big enough for this
many people. The place was clean and tidy, nice lounge area with big coffee
table to sit around and play games, fireplace was great too - lots of wood
provided so no need to go out and forage in the woods.
A couple of suggested improvements:
1) We arrived a week or so after the HUGE snowstorm of February 2010, and
while roads were pretty clear, the driveway was extremely icy. It's a steep
uphill, too - we managed to get our 4WD pickup halfway up, but friends
without 4WD had to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up, which
was also pretty treacherous! Some sand/salt on the driveway would have
been very welcomed.
2) Internet did not work at all for the duration of the stay, nor did cable TV.
This was maybe related to the snowstorm, but we wanted to watch the
winter olympics and couldn't :(
3) Hot tub did NOT look clean. Water was an unpleasant yellow-ish color.
Maybe this was the chemicals? Either way, I've not seen hot tub water quite
this color before. It was a little off-putting.
Aside from these relatively minor grievances, we had a great time.

We found this house "last minute" to stay in during a skiing/snowboarding trip to Wisp. We thought the was house really nice and home-like. Not so fancy that we were nervous about messing it up, but really comfortable, clean, and decorated nicely. It accomodated two adults, two teens and two young boys very nicely, the two bathrooms and the three bedrooms "fit" us just fine. The hot tub was great and the kids and teens thought it was the best part of the trip. It was hard to find late Friday night with the huge piles of snow everywhere (and my headlight out!)but we perservered.
