Best of Oaxaca offers 2 furnished apartments for rent that are attractively appointed and include a wide range of conveniences designed to meet the needs of vacationers to Oaxaca.

Rent with confidence knowing that you are located in a secure setting with the owners residing on the same property. With both of our furnished apartments we handle the details, including utilities, furniture, kitchen supplies and more -- so you can keep on track and focus on your priorities. Fluent English spoken and if anything should arise we are on-site 24 hrs to attend to any maintenance need, yet, we are not intrusive thus allowing you to be completely relaxed.

Our new stairs to our rooftop terrace now allows everyone to enjoy the view and take in some sun or the cool evening.

Located on the same grounds where Nora Valencia conducts her cooking classes at Alma de mi Tierra cooking school, is where you will find two, fully furnished smoke free, single story apartment (around 525 sq. ft. ), 1 bedroom, 1 bath, with living and kitchen/dining area. The bedroom can be set up to have either one king size or two single beds. The very quiet ceiling fan (52") in bedroom helps keep you cool. Kitchen is complete with 4 burner gas stove and oven, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker/press, microwave and blender. Common patio area is adorned with potted plants. A newly constructed staircase provides access to our rooftop terrace complete with seating and mountain view. A perfect place to pass the day reading or taking in some sun. Private sitting area located just outside your kitchen door. All utilities included. You only pay for your drinking water, food, and personal items. Perfect for mature couple. TV, basic cable and wireless high speed cable included. Non-smokers only and no pets. No children under 15 years of age. Minimal rental age is 21 years. Located at Aldama 205, in the neighborhood of Jalatlaco. Our apartments accommodate two persons maximum.

Getting around

The best way to get around the historic center is by foot. However, if you do need a taxi for whatever reason please let us know for we can arrange a taxi for you with at least 30 min notice for a local destination or at least 12 hrs before for a day trip. Please use only the NYC type Yellow cabs for they are the most reliable and are the ones sanctioned by the city. Buses are cheap and readily available but they do take longer but is perfect to experience the local scenery and experience.

Interaction with guest

My wife and I reside on premises so at least one of us is on hand at all times. We also have 2 helpers who can assist you if needed or can contact us in the event we are off-site. My wife also conducts cooking classes onsite but those do not interfere with our guest at all. We have made some really good friends with some of our guest but at the same time we are not intrusive of you private life unless you decide to include us by asking us in. We only enter your apartment with notice once a week, if your stay is a long one, to clean and change linens; also when guest are not there too close windows in wind/rain storms. We also have a 3 month old English Bulldog by the name of Bella who is up-to-date with her vaccines. She is not a barker.

House rules

Minimum age to rent its 21 years. No sub-letting. Due to the proximity of the second apartment and us residing on premises quite time is 10 pm to 9 am daily. No burning of open candles or incense is allowed at any time in the apartments.
