Comfortable modern cottage in traditional style. Secluded woodland setting with resident red squirrels and frequent visits from barn owls, woodpeckers and roe deer. Only three miles from Oban – ‘Gateway to the Isles’ – and departure point of ferries to Mull, Iona and the Hebrides. Sleeps four in two en-suite rooms. VisitScotland 4-star. Dogs welcome.

Susana was very easy to deal with answering every e-mail promptly. She was waiting at the Cottage to greet us and show us around. Bracken Cottage is well equipped and suitable for two couples traveling together. It is set in a beautiful garden. You do need a car as it is in the country. Being in the country means there is no internet or cell/mobile phone reception. Some of our party found the squeaky floors very annoying. It is well situated for touring the Oban area.

Although only five minutes drive from Oban with it`s restaurants and shops this delightful cottage is in a private woodland setting full of bird life & red squirrels where even a roe deer may be seen. Immaculate,well equipped,light and modern but also warm and welcoming,as is the owner,it is well equipped with lots of books,cd`s,dvd`s and current magazines. After the delight of the fresh fruit and chocolates on arival the pot of homemade marmalade was the icing on the cake! All in all an excellent holiday.

This beautiful, private, fully fenced, well equipped cottage, set in a woodland garden, complete with red squirrels, woodpeckers and many other species of bird, is both warm and welcoming, as was the owner.
Lots of good books, games, Dvds, CDs and up-to-date magazines, not to mention fresh fruit, chocolates and a pot of home made marmalade!
We brought our dog, who was treated to biscuits and how own towels.
Oban, "Gateway to the Isles" is only a five minute drive away - lots of good seafood restaurants and shops.
We caught a ferry to Mull and visited Iona and Staffa (Fingal's Cave), not to be missed.
Many thanks for a memorable holiday, we are planning our next visit.
