With wheelchair access these lodges are the ideal base from which to explore Oban and the surrounding area. Oban is a year round holiday destination and the hills and glens inland can easily be explored or try your hand at diving or kayaking or simply relax by the beach.
Oban is less than 3 miles from Lerags and known locally as the gateway to the Isles and seafood capital of Scotland. Oban boasts a year round vibrancy with superb diving, kayaking and yachting and several regattas are held in the bay each summer, which add to its charm. With an ever growing reputation for superb fresh seafood and shellfish, Oban’s restaurants are... definitely worth a visit, there is everything on offer from organic Japanese to family-friendly pizza and pasta. A water taxi runs to Kerrera, the nearest island to Oban and the larger ferries operate regular services to the Inner and Outer Hebridean islands, an island visit is a ‘must do’ experience and most are accessible as part of a day trip and organised tour.
Inland from Oban the west coast scenery mellows and the rolling hills and glens provide plenty of space and freedom to roam. You are never far from the water and sea lochs, rivers and burns dominate the countryside offering first class fishing. Within an hour’s drive you have the highland town of Fort William and Ben Nevis, and closer still you have the glorious gardens of Argyll, numerous historic castles (Dunollie House in Oban is worth a visit) museums and ancient standing stones in the birthplace of Scotland at Dunadd.
Lerags location is less than 3 miles from Oban town centre making it an ideal base for a holiday in Scotland. There is plenty to keep the family occupied on site too including a forestry commission trail which leads from the car park outside The Barn Bar, where excellent meals are served using locally sauced produce, to Loch Glean a Bhearraidh, here guests can enjoy free fishing for wild brown trout. The Barn Bar has live music on Sunday afternoons and is open all year (weekends only over the winter months), there is a beer garden and a wooden play area and fully fenced duck pond to keep the children amused. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area, most from the site.

The lodge is in a nice quiet spot, convenient for Oban- we went to visit the Winter Festival, which was lovely.
The weather was very cold and the wind howled through the gap around the lodge front door. We didn't use the spare duvet in the cupboard because it was so dirty- we put the heater on all night instead. The beds were OK but ours seemed to be lower on one side. Kitchen and bathroom were nice and clean but the bathroom was freezing. Good TV. No mobile phone signal.
Check in at the bar was easy and friendly but later, when we went for a drink, we found two members of staff extremely rude, bordering on hostile; one rudely pointed at my partner right in his face when another member of staff asked who was next. We sat quietly with our drinks and five minutes later were grumpily told to leave the table because it was needed straight away to serve a meal. (no smile or apology) There was no reserved sign and the table remained empty while we stood (I have arthritis)for the 15 minutes it took us to finish our drinks and leave. We had planned to have a meal there the following night but we felt far from welcome and didn't go to the bar again during our stay.
A great location, quiet, secluded yet 5mins from Oban

Lodge was modern & immaculate, equipped with everything that you needed for comfortable holiday. The site is very peacefull, but with great access to the fishing port of Oban and ferries to the islands which i would recommend taken to see some great views. There is so much to do for all ages in surronding area, whale watching, walking, caatles, gardens. The Barn bar was a great welcome after the activities of the day to relax with a drink & meal from the excellent menu with food sourced locally which was served by friendly staff. I only wished my holiday was longer.
Clean, had all we needed for a lovely week

Cottage clean and ready when we arrived. Had everything we needed. Area quiet, but easy to get to Oban for all required amenities. Biggest drawback was the poor quality road leading to the cottages - lots of potholes!!!
Excellent value for money

We found this property comfortable. It has all the kit you need for a short break. We found some of the furnishings a bit dated and that it could have done with a DVD player. It's in a great position though, just a few miles south of Oban. Having the Barn (pub/ restaurant) on your doorstep is a great bonus (great food, good selection of local ales and whiskies & a very friendly atmosphere). Access to loch is a short walk away, the proprietors kindly lent us their boat and fishing tackle. Will definately return again.
Outdated, poor quality accommodation

In need of complete refurbishment. Cold and depressing with uncomfortable furniture and out dated decor. The only nice thing was the mural of Muck on the living room wall which was bright and bold. Did not enjoy our stay and will not be back.

Thoroughly enjoyable mid week break at Cologin lodges. A warm welcome awaited us and check in was hassle free. Lodge was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Our weather was warm and sunny so after walks through the forests ETC it was nice to sit outside at the patio table and enjoy a BBQ. If you didn't fancy cooking then the bar/restaurant on site did fabulous food and the staff were great, really helpful and friendly. Oban is a couple of miles away so topping up supplies was no Probs with a large Tesco ETC. Will definitely return to Cologin lodges we had a FaB time, the Downside was our break wasn't long enough we enjoyed it so much.
