Modern 3 room apartment with all necessary equipment for a nice easy holiday. The apartment is situated in Oberammergau, a small village 800 meter high in the mountains close to ski slopes in the winter and all kinds of hikes in the summer. Mountain biking, swimmimg, climbing, paragliding etc is all possible. The NATO School is situated in this small village and a bus pick up point is 100 meters away from the apartment. Shops are all very close. Parking spot in front of the house. Restaurants are all very nearby. One word: Worth it! Ok, two words. The advertisment of this property is too modest! Mr. Jansen and his wonderful spouse are humble, but this top notch rental speaks for itself though. The terase out the kitchen is great; solid teak table, bench and a mobile umbrella. This is a private place, you are surrounded by the mountains, and feel like at home because you find most of the things I find in my home. Everything worked as it should (I do not take this for granted). We used lots of kitchen stuff, and th edishwsher is great too, to include te stove, microwave, and water heater. If you like organization you will like this kitchen and efficiency of space; everything is "idiot" proof (labels,color codeded,etc) the quality of furnishings, travel references offered, and of course front door parking). Must mention the goodies for kids (stroller, crib, safety proffing, sound proffing) this defenitely saves space in your trunk for the holidays. Loved the large, walk in shower as well. There is plenty of storage, comfy couches, separation of bedrooms - (think, "do not want ot be wall to wall with "challenged breathing" travelling companions). What makes all of these best are the most accomodating and most flexible hosts. If you want privacy , you got it, Gerard and Nellie, are like ghosts that show up exactly when and if you need them. I was realy worried about kids making noise and stuff but the smile, the attitude and "we make more noise that you (never heard them)" comments won me over and felt comfortable feeling like I was at home indeed. Hm, location and proximity to stuff to do...are you kidding? Let me put it this way, even if you really hate walking, you will get to restaurants, modes of transportation and kids play-ground in most 15 min - dragging your feet, that is. Train is 5 min away; bus even closer. My standard for finding apartment type lodging, has gone up. I often use the Jansen Holiday apartment as a reference. Best cost/benefits by far! Thank you!

We stayed here for three nights in august 2012 after traveling around Europe for the previous month. Of all the places we stayed in Europe this one (and another in Dresden) were by far the best value.
The owner, who lives in the same building, met us and showed us through the apartment and how to use all the appliances. There were some nice cold drinks in the fridge waiting for us. My children enjoyed playing on the swing set and playing ping-pong in the yard.
The apartment has sleeping for 5 and is very comfortable. There is even a small balcony where you can have breakfast.
There is a large Tesco grocery store about 200-300m up the street. The main Oberammergau shopping/dining area is about 50m the other way. -

For us it was the second time we stayed at the Jansen Family apartment. Also this time we enjoyed our stay very much. The warm welcome by the very sympathetic owners Nelly and Gerard was very well appreciated. The recent enlargement of the kitchen with a nice balcony is really a very good idea . How wonderful to stay in a different country, but to find your cupboards packed with stuff to get you started...
Gerrad and Nellie were supreme hosts, providing the best appartment we have ever stayed in and more bits and bobs to keep up sailing along happily. Thanks for lending us the bikes!!!
If you want to stop in the lovely town of Oberammergau, Gerrad and Nellie will provide you with a wonderful appartment, with lovely views and close to the town centre.
There is plenty of advice on good places to go and a lot of humor too, jump in, you will love it!!! -

we just got back from a long weekend with our 2 daughters age 10 and 5. we were more than happy with the location, space, ammenities, and property owner. we are planning to return again in the summer!! highly recommend this rental.

Die Ferienwohnung ist super schön. Sie liegt direkt im Zentrum von Oberammergau. Alles ist sehr familienfreundlich, sogar ein Kinderwagen und ein Reisebett für unsere Kleine gab es zur freien Nutzung. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet und man hat ein großes Wohnzimmer mit Essbereich. In jedem Zimmer gibt es einen Fernseher und Wlan.

Unfortunately we stayed only one night at Gerard and Nels vacation rental apartment. This apartment has all the amenities of home. Two nice large bedrooms, Living room, bathroom and kitchen. Comfortable beds, couches and the hosts are there for every need.
In addition Oberammergau is a wonderful little village and we are currently planning to go back there and this apartment in 2012!! -

We had originally planned to stay in a hotel but there was no availability, and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The Jansen apartment was so comfortable and well equipped that we felt completely at home. Oberammergau was a beautiful town and a great central point to enjoy the areas attractions. Thank you Jansens for the amazing hospitality! We hope to be back soon!

We stayed in the Holiday apartment for 4 nights in July. We found the apartment to be completely equipped, very clean and lots of room for the two of us; 4 people would not be crowded. It also included a laptop and desktop PC which we have never seen before in previous accommodations. There is parking right outside but the apartment is a short 5 minute walk to the centre of the village and close to all that Oberammergau offers. The Jansens were very gracious hosts, offering suggestions and directions whenever asked. We highly recommend this accommodation for anyone staying in the area; it was so much nicer than a single hotel room. The Chinese-Thai restaurant on the main floor of the building was quite good - we ate there twice during our stay.

All ameneties provided. The apartment comfortably housed my five-member family and two dogs. We were able to cook for five easily and the apartment was within walking distance of multiple shops for groceries, while within walking distance also of multiple parks and skiing areas. Highly recommend it.

Gerard and Nellie Jansen made us feel like we were welcome guests in their home from the moment we arrived. The apartment had everything we needed and the location was excellent for getting around town or taking day trips to other sites in Bavaria and austria. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this apartment for other travelling families.

Moving from Oberammergau wasn't easy but staying at Gerard and Nelly Janssen's apartment with my family sure helped. The appartment is comfortable and cozy and has everything (!!!) from papertowls to laundry detergent which is great. It's also large enough for a family of four with tons of luguage. It felt like coming home after a long day of packing up furniture. Thank you Gerard & Nelly!!!

The apartment was in perfect conditions, very well equipment and everything a family need to stay, relax, eat, and do the work.
Upon my return I recommended the apartment to my colleagues. If, in the future, I travel to O'gau for any purpose, the first thing to do I will ask the Jansen's apartment for renting.

Zeer relax, super modern, comfortabel appartement. Van alle gemakken voorzien...heerlijke bedden en een extreem super de luxe badkamer met een lekkere douche! Keuken volledig, computers aanwezig...wat wil een mens nog meer! Aanrader voor jong en oud.

Een geweldig appartement met alle voorzieningen die je nodig hebt. Het centrum en supermarkten liggen om de hoek. Bij aankomst zijn we goed ontvangen en de nodige boodschappen voor het eerste ontbijt en kop koffie/ thee waren aanwezig. We hebben hier een super tijd gehad!

On arrival on Sunday evening, a few drinks and also bread/cheese/marmelade for next morning's breakfast were available. So, a great welcome.
The apartment is in perfect shape, fully equipped and very clean. Free internet acces by available desktop computer and TV is available in every bedroom. apartment is located close to the railway station and close to the city centre also. Grocery stores are within walking distance.
A great place to be!
