DoverWe had a wonderful vacation.

We have stayed at the Braemar many times in the past. We love the location, the pool and the beach area. This apartment was one of the better apartments we stayed in. The sleeping arrangements in 1714 worked very well for our family. The upgraded kitchen made meal prep very easy and cleanup very quick. The only negative we had all week was one of the pool lifeguards was a little ridiculous making both a 9 year old and 5 year old cry.

We were very pleased with this particular unit and building. The unit was clean and cozy. The 2 balcony views were beautiful, one could see both the ocean and the bay. There were many stores, restaurants, and activities nearby. This is an ideal area for those who would rather not be near the boardwalk area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We hope to return to Ocean City and stay at this very same unit. A special Thank You to andrew who helped me with all the arrangements.

Unit was good size. Nicely furnished. A quiet part of the beach. The only negative was no internet access available. A negative in todays world. The entry lock is a little tricky and we had to get someone to show us how it works. Should have been told this up front and we would have avoided a frustrating 15 min of trying to get the door unlocked.

Just a few minor annoyances.
1. Check-in ... of course due to traffic, we missed the 5 pm cutoff time. The fact that we could have driven direct to the condo for the keys rather than stop at the 86th Street office, I would have taken a different route (coming from the North rather than across Rt. 50).
2. Key to the door ... No mention in the packet that the key to this door is tricky. I called the emergency number and they got back to me fairly quickly to "explain how to open the door." The thing that was annoying was that when I apoligized for calling the operator said "No problem, this happens every weekend." If it happens to all renters, then why not put a note in the rental packet explaining how to use the key or get a new lock & key.
3. Master Bath toilet ... the american Standard water saver toilet needs to be replaced with a better toilet. It was glogged two times and the second time (on the second to last day), maintenance never made it to the condo.
4. Price ... I thought the price was a little steep but we booked with about 2-3 weeks out. If I had more time, I think would have had more options and maybe not have selected this condo due to price. Also, I was happy that they let us stay an extra night but a little annoyed that they didn't give us a break on the cost of the additional night.
Now for the good stuff ...
The condo location and balconies is why I paid as much as I did. The dishes, utensils, pots pans and appliances were top notch as well as the decor and furnishings. It felt like a home ... not just a rental place! All the little extra things were already at the condo (i.e. binoculars, radio, beach chairs & buggie, etc.) And Kim in the Century 21 office was also very pleasant and helpful to deal with. -

We've stayed at the Braemar before. So far, room 1714 (oddly on the 6th floor) is the nicest of those we've stayed in.
The Braemar facility is great. Always seems to be kept clean (grounds and pool). We always prefer north Ocean City and the Braemar.
