      Great for large groups!

Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in August 2012

We had a family reunion here and had a great time! 10 adults and 9 kids stayed. Each couple had their own room, and the ground floor had 3 separate rooms for kids (or anyone else) to stay in. I found the descriptions for the ground floor inaccurate/confusing so here's what it really looks like: Beautiful entry way with plenty of space for boogie boards, beach umbrellas, towels, and 19 pairs of flip flops. To the right is the doorway to the first bunk bed room. This room had 2 sets of bunk beds plus a futon so it sleeps 6. There's also dressers and a tv. (watch out for kids launching themselves off the top bunk onto the very hard tile floor below or you'll get spend a lot of time at the hospital like we did). You go through this room to the next room which seems to double as a storage/bedroom. There's a futon (sleeps 2) plus lots of room to store any umbrellas or suitcases that aren't in use. It does have a door that opens to the outside, near the side of the house where the 4 other parking spaces are. Through this room you go into the last downstairs room which has 2 sets of bunk bed, so it sleeps 4. We put 2 pack n' plays for our 1 year old twins in here, too, so if you have kids sleeping in pack yards they would fit in this room or the futon room (which is quite large). That last bunk bed room also has a door that opens to the outside, into the 'back yard' area that's fenced in. This is where the 2 outdoor showers are, the outdoor stairs to the back decks, and the boat/jet ski launch. The house had a bit of wear and tear on it but nothing major. There was plenty of room for everyone to sit and relax, eat together, lots of pots and pans, etc for anything we wanted to make and a big fridge and pantry. We were afraid would carry noise but it was better than expected. We had an issue with a broken toilet the second day and they came and fixed it very quickly. The master bedroom on the top floor is large and has it's own deck/widows walk with ocean and canal views. The bedrooms on the main floor have doors to the deck that wraps 3/4 of the way around the house and has ocean views. The beach access is closer then the maps showed, about 1 1/2 short blocks. The wading area of the ocean itself is very rough, with lots of broken shells so bring water shoes or wade out a bit farther to the sand bar. The best place to eat by far is the Causeway Gourmet. It's just after you cross the bridge on the right. It doesn't look like much, but man it's delicious. Wish we'd found it at the beginning of our trip instead of the end! It was great for families with small kids, we had 9 kids ranging from 2 months to 7 years and it was easy to 'baby proof'. large enough common areas for everyone to congregate but enough bedrooms for people to have their own space too. It's a very quiet area on a corner lot. Loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the covered back deck and watching the other houses on the canal side. Loved it!
