Description from the owner
This private oceanfront villa nestles in a half acre of tropical gardens and enjoys panoramic views of the turquoise water of the Caicos Banks. From the large decks, you can relax by the 48 foot free-form freshwater swimming pool and enjoy an unobstructed vista of turquoise waters, azure skies and the distant harbor.
Laze to the sound of the sea lapping at the shoreline below, or walk down the steps to the large sea-level deck, and take the steps into the water for swimming and snorkeling.

Beautiful location right between two gorgeous beaches. Perfect dock that looks out onto the water where you can have your morning coffee or a nightcap. Unexpected but very appreciated amenities such as iPod docks throughout and ensuite bathrooms for every bedroom. Amazing pool and overall a really well maintained property. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!

The house and view are beautiful, just like the pictures. We vacationed with two other couples and this house was perfect with each bedroom having its own bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped. They even had binoculars. The iPod docking stations were perfect for listening to the Reggae music I had downloaded prior to the trip. There are books to borrow and movies in the built in cabinet but we spent most of our time outside on the wonderful deck.
The beach chairs and towels made for perfect outings to the beach. The beach is a couple minute walk out the front door. The beautiful white sand beach is shallow for a long distance so perfect for children. We visited Smith's reef for snorkeling, beautiful fish and even saw a couple sharks but they didn't bother us. The better snorkeling is right by the inlet for Turtle Cove, there is a nicer beach area down the road to the right which also has a small reef for snorkeling.
We did rent a car so we could enjoy the whole island. We quickly adapted to driving on the left side of the road, traffic wasn't too bad. We saw the Hole and The Conch Shack was interesting and had beautiful conch shells for sale. We also went horseback riding with annie. We tried Provo Ponies but they were booked solid for two weeks so reserve early if you want to use them. We hiked up the trail on the mountain to the left of the house for the scenic view.
We visited three restaurants, Shark Bite, Mango Reef and the restaurant right down the road from the house Las Brisas, food was great at all three. We used the grill at the house couple nights, surf and turf. The fishermen pull right up to the dock around 5 pm selling their catch of the day, we enjoyed lobster and snapper from them.
Linda was great to work with, loved that she greeted us at the airport and showed us the way to the house. She always promptly responded to my email questions prior to the trip. We would loved to come back here again sometime soon!
Ps: The trip home was not smooth. We flew Usair which had an extremely long line (other airlines were not as bad). Allow for at least 3 hrs to get tickets and through customs. Our flight was delayed 90 mins., we ended up missing our connecting flight in Philly and had to rent a van to get home. So please allow for at least a two to three hour lay over on your way home so you can get through customs.Response from Coldwell Banker - 04/25/2012

Thanks Linda, we look forward to your return trip. :-) We are also all looking forward to the new airport and shorter lines! Linda

Our family of five spent Thanksgiving week here. The villa was just perfect. Ocean Point is away from the crowds, yet only a fifteen minute drive to restaurants and activities. While houses are close together here, the mature and beautiful tropical landscaping gives a sense of privacy. The villa sets above the ocean, with a private dock and lovely pool. Sitting on the deck, looking out over the pool to the sea, is just magical. It is a two-minute walk to beautiful, quiet, Taylor Bay Beach. There is some snorkeling off the dock, although you don't see much as the main snorkeling on the island is off of Grace Bay Beach, or a short boat trip out to the reef on the other side of the island. The villa has been equipped with every amenity you can imagine - full kitchen, TV, laundry facilities, and even Ipod docking if you are into that. A nice little library of books left by former guests. The rooms are simple, and very comfortable, with cool tile floors, high ceilings, and furnishings which are very comfortable. Really, it feels like the perfect beach house, and we felt at home right away. Linda from Colwell Banker meets you at the airport and leads you to the house (you need a car), explains everything, and then relaxation begins! One warning - the mosquitos and no-see-ums are there, and you will need citronella candles (get them at IGa) and insect repellant in the evenings. Finally, I was in TCI 23 years ago. Provo has been developed greatly since then, but the development has been thoughtful, and the tourist areas are quite beautiful. The island residents are very welcoming and friendly. You will not be accosted by people trying to sell you cheap jewelry every time you go to the beach. The food is amazingly good, if expensive. Highlights of our trip were horseback riding on the beach, learning to paddleboard in the mangroves, and eating at Las Brisas (near the house) and da Conch Shack. We highly recommend Villa Mariposa, and would love to return someday.

Boston, MassachusettsA perfect place to relax.

My husband, two young daughters (ages 6 & 8) and my sister and brother-in-law spent a week at Mariposa and we were all thrilled with the villa. The villa was very tastefully decorated and well maintained. We appreciated the covered deck beside the pool, a perfect setting for enjoying a cocktail, taking a nap or just watching the boats go by. We were pleasantly surprised by the great snorkeling that was right in front of the home. We also really liked the location. We were a two-minute walk to Taylor Bay beach which was nearly empty everyday.

Excellent stay. Location is perfect. Property and amenities a++.
One negative, interior of house is very hot. Air conditioning is only in the bedrooms. The house needs a roof ventilator so that the heat is vented outside. -

Toronto, Ontario, CanadaA secluded, peaceful retreat.
Left on 02/26/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This is a perfect retreat for a couple looking for a quiet getaway. The location was ideal tucked between two beaches and also accessible to the water from the deck. The villa was nicely equipped with everything needed in the kitchen as well as internet access, and a collection of books and Cd's. A great island house.
