Ocean Ridge is one of the Florida Gold Coast’s best kept secrets. Unlike many of the towns located on the Gold Coast, Ocean Ridge is a hidden gem comprised of a small exclusive community that cherishes the quiet solitude, relaxed ambiance, immaculate sunsets, and unspoiled coastal landscape with miles and miles of white-sand beaches and tranquil waters along the Atlantic intracostal.
Founded in the 1930’s, Ocean Ridge still, to this day, carefully maintains a low-key, low-density profile. Ocean Ridge is a small coastal community along US Hwy A1A. With Florida's sub-tropical climate, Ocean Ridge has sunshine all year round and of course sugary white sand beaches littered with pastel colored seashells. Unlike many coastal towns on Florida’s Gold Coast, Ocean Ridge has remained a small town through its self proclaimed seclusion and solitude. The seas surrounding the quaint town are still clean and pristine. Even after so many years since being incorporated, people still refer to Ocean Ridge as a part of Boynton Beach. Residents from neighboring towns often cannot direct visitors to Ocean Ridge, as they do not know where Ocean Ridge is even located, which is precisely why Ocean Ridge Florida is the hidden emerald of the Gold Coast—the residents of this quaint, hidden town would have it no other way.
While Ocean Ridge’s secluded tropical paradise boasts peace, tranquility and stunning beauty—it’s also close to a number of attractions. Ocean Ridge’s central location between Palm Beach and Boca Raton, this serene property enjoys close proximity to all of the finest world-class shops, restaurants, sporting clubs, and cultural organizations the region has to offer. Palm Beach International Airport is reached in a short 15-minute drive from Ocean Ridge. The best of both worlds come together in Ocean Ridge for a lifestyle that is totally unique on South Florida’s fabled Gold Coast.
If you’re worried that Ocean Ridge may not include close proximity to recreation—think again. Ocean Ridge’s exclusive country-club lifestyle comprises world-class golfing. Not to mention, the fishing and boating are unequaled. With pristine Atlantic waters, bone and deep sea fishing are some of Ocean Ridge’s best kept secrets. Whether you’re looking for a quaint night on the town or a more vibrant exciting evening jaunt—Ocean Ridge offers endless possibilities. For you dining pleasure there are restaurants offering “Floribian” cuisine and from casual, funky fun to fine dining. Choose from a number of quaint ocean front restaurants for a romantic evening with delectable seafood. Plus Delray Beach and the island of Palm Beach are only just a short drive away among A1A that runs along the beach. (source Premier Estate Properties)
Fabulous Delray Beach and it's famous Atlantic Avenue is set in a quaint 'village by the sea'. Reminiscent of old Florida where the beaches don't have any buildings on them and the beautiful sea turtles come to nest their eggs. A two-time, All American City winner, Delray Beach is known for its' many art festivals, crazy and fun St. Patricks Day Parade, eclectic and amusing store fronts, mom and pop gourmet and foodie fare, live music at several venues like Bostons on the beach, our cultural affairs, and our pristine beaches. It's a haven for the artsy type, the savior fare and the sun worshipers. It's mystic, soothing, exciting, easy going and yet very chic all at the same time. This town is just a 10 minute car ride away and is simply one of Florida's best spots to visit.
PALM BEACH ISLAND
"The island" as its known and not to be confused with the city of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Island is Florida's best kept secret. It's secret because its residents and visitors want it that way. Palm Beach Island has a concentrated amount of the world's top 10% of monied individuals. We are talking the likes of past and present residents, Marjorie Merriweather Post of Post Cereal Corporation, builder Donald Trump, singers Rod Stewart, Jimmy Buffet and John Lennon, writer James Patterson, clothing designer, Vera Wang, bankers Smith Barney, John Kluge of Metromedia, radio show host Rush Limbaugh, the Kennedy family, Chairman of Revlon Ronald Perleman just to name a few. In the height of the season, all of Hampton is in Palm Beach where social gatherings, charity balls and the who's who come together with plastic looking faces and the age difference between a man and his mistress are easily 40 years apart. Think I'm exaggerating? Check it out for yourself!
The richest of the rich get things done their way. They own their police department is such away as the residents dictate the law. This is not the place to drive your beaten down VW, it will most definitely be towed off the island in a matter of minutes. It is a place to bike ride leisurely as the island is extremely beautiful and is reminiscent of the island of Capri in its architecture, with beautiful flowers cascading across entry ways, adorning walled property lines. A town only a few blocks wide is perfectly manicured at every angle your vision perceives. Worth Avenue is the very well known street lined with designer shops who's sister street is Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills. And there are even wonderful second hand consignment shops if you are interested in wearing something a celebrity once wore. There is a fabulous little authentic french bakery, a Publix grocery store that has valet parking and the infamous Breakers Hotel. If you visit the island, it's imperative that you tour the Hotel. Built to mimic European splendor, its over the top, mostly gaudy, ornamental, but yet simply fascinating to walk through. And the most important highlight is having a cocktail at the Seafood Bar located on the main floor which boast panoramic ocean views and a bar that is literally a fish aquarium and then finish your evening at Taboo ordering their super delicious and highest priced burger!
Thank-you for checking out my listing. I look forward to your stay!.
