No real access to the beach, though they boast a trail which you would need ropes and crampons to descend and then ascend. Poor lighting and poor heat. The view, though, is great. The dryer didn't work. We wouldn't stay there again.

The neighborhood tire trail is a trail,as noted in our adveritisement that is enjoyed and loved by many, our children included. We are sorry to hear you found this home not inviting. We have had the dryer serviced and it is in good working condition, thank you for letting us know it was not working. We do send a welcome letter a week before you arrive with instructions to the home (via map quest) and instructions if arriving after dark to be sure to bring a flashlight ..... We always try to match home and guest as each is individual and we are only able to do so by what is submitted at request time, we do have many return guests who enjoy their stay. Thank you for trying this home.

We found this to be a wonderful hide-away. The bed in the second bedroom sleeps great now according to our 26 year old son who joined us. The previous reviewer is right about the steps up to the unit, but the reward is the great view of the arch Rocks. The walk way down to the beach is not a short way and is very steep, crosses the highway and then down quite a ways again. The drive and great parking in town are a much better choice. The layout of the unit is very nice. Our only minus would be that the bathroom is on the main level and the bedrooms upstairs, but that is a minor thing. Large picture windows give you views in a couple directions. We were able to find the house in the dark. The cell service (which was providing our map) cut out just before the last turn. There is no cell service in the unit or in Oceanside that we could pick-up. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is located at the end of a secluded lane and is totally quiet. You can hear the surf on the beach below and that is it. The view and especially the sunsets are amazing. The cottage is well laid out and nicely furnished. It is very private and there is a trail from across the road that goes directly down to the beach.
There were two issues with this property. The first was that the bed in the smaller bedroom has seen its day. It would be okay for kids, but any medium to large sized adult would find it pretty lumpy. The second is the stairs between the parking and the front door. I think the vertical distance is between 30-40 feet. No problem for us, but anyone with joint or heart issues would find this pretty daunting.
Other than those issues, we thought the place was great and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Response from Murlene Sprenkel - 08/16/2012
