IdahoBest Vacation Cabin Ever!
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was the best cabin ever. Very cozy and homey. Our kids loved the tree house and swings, as well as the wetsuits, sand toys, boogie board and skim board. I was amazed at how well stocked the kitchen was and how many amenities were included. Tons of movies, books, toys, games, art supplies and more for the kids. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are vacationing as a family.

I'd never been to Oceanside. It's hidden behind a hill from 101. But once you get in there it's an amazing little community nestled right against the ocean. The Knotty Pine Cabin sets at Oceanside's heart with an great view of the whole town with the backdrop of the pacific. The cabin looks almost too small when you first see it. We had multiple guests and I was concerned we'd fit but the inside was very roomy. The quirky place had everything we wanted from old weird boardgames to a huge selection of wet suits and boogie boards and a treehouse to toast the sunsets in. Try em out! I'll definitely find a chance to return.

This cabin has everything you could possibly need/want for a beach vacation. We only stayed the weekend, but will be planning an extended stay in the near future. Very cozy and comfy. Very well equipped and clean. It doesn't smell "musty" like a lot of coast rentals. Pets are allowed, but there was no odors or pet hair! The tree deck was a great. Very fun with great views of the coast. The cabin's knotty pine interior gave it a rustic feel.
We absolutely love this place! -

Highly recommend this vacation rental. Inside is nice, comfortable and cozy (3 bdrms and 1 bath). The view from the sitting room is amazing. The cabin also comes with a great tree house which we enjoyed very much. Everything was well maintained and comes well-stocked with kitchen and bath stuff along with everything you need in terms of toiletries and towels, even wet-suits and boards. This is a pet-friendly rental so we were able to visit with our 1 yr old lab mix who loved it also.
We will definitely return in the future. I found the owner, Rory, to be extremely nice, helpful and very prompt with requests. -

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Knotty Pine cabin for a long weekend. We lucked out with a sunny weekend and enjoyed watching the sunset from the living room of the cabin. Everynight we made a fire with wood that was provided. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable I had to check the mattress to see what kind it was. The location is a short steep walk to the beach and coffee shop/restaurants. We found the cabin very well equipped. Most rentals usually only have a few scratched up nonstick pots and pans but this place had a good assortment of quality pots and pans. I made a huge pot of soup during our visit. The bedrooms are arranged very close together so I would probably just recommend it for families or couples. We will definitely return to this cabin.

The cabin is comfortable and fully stocked with Dvds, games, firewood and food staples. We spent four days in the winter, watching the storms roll in off the Pacific while we sipped hot toddies. We brought our own food -- steaks, eggs, Dungeness crab, fresh oysters -- so we ate well. The kitchen is well equipped. No cell service, but HD satellite TV and wifi. Even our dog liked it!

A few of my better friends meet here yearly because it feels like home. Great fire, comfy chairs and plenty of sleeping space. Every thing need for cooking is in the kitchen. Had a lovely time, and would have been happy staying longer. I will definitely be back. The cabin is cozy and very nicely located - I loved the interior knotty pine finishes. I was very comfortable there by myself, but would also enjoy bringing my granddaughters and other family members with me next time. The extra supplies was a very generous approach to hospitality - much appreciated (toiletries, kitchen items, laundry detergent, wet suits, firewood). I didn't need the "extras" except the firewood this visit, but it was nice to know it was there if I needed it!
I really enjoyed the fireplace on Sunday when it was stormy out. Quite a change from the weather the day before when I hadn't needed a coat for my walk on the beach and the weather was sunny enough to sit on the deck and read for much of the afternoon. This cabin is a wonderful treasure in the Vrbo choices. -

Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I have a family of six. That's about all this house can handle. Luckily, they're all young (the oldest is nine and the youngest is 17 months). An older family than mine might struggle as there's only one shower and toilet. We had a good time and were relatively comfortable in the house. The view of the ocean was tremendous. The walk to the beach from the house is quaint. The house is old and the design a little odd but it's also solid and quite useable. The best amenities were the wide selection of movies and games and the wetsuits and boogie boards. These were all a hit with the family. The tree house is a nice addition too.
There is no cell reception but a landline is provided and the internet works just fine.
Thanks again Rory!

Vancouver, WARelaxing gettaway for the weekend.
Left on 10/01/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Thank you for letting us use your comfy and well stocked place. Before getting to the house, we stopped at Safeway in Tillamook and stocked up on food we going to cook with since we made plans not to eat out. We ended up using the waffle maker one morning and made Belgian waffles. Having all the kitchen supplies you can think of made it really easy to cook various meals.
The house has an older, maybe antiquish, feel to it when you first arrive, but very quickly you adjust to it's hominess. There was enough bed space to fit 7 girls comfortably and beds were comfortable indeed. There were lots of pillows and blankets for everyone. The couch can also sleep one extra person, but the beds were plenty big enough and sharing space was no big deal. The bathroom was small, but we all managed without any setbacks. It was well stocked with towels, toilet paper, and even shampoo. =)
There is a great collection of board games, books, and videos directed towards various topics of interests. We played several games and stayed up late into the night watching movies.
The deck and the tree house had magnificent views, despite missing the sunset due to cloudy skies. The tree swings were also a nice touch. The beach was close and about a 3 minute walk downhill. After spending time at the beach playing in the sand, walking, and kite flying, we would come back and lounge out on the deck. Overall it was a pleasant, relaxing stay and I would recommend it to families, especially with numerous kids.
The only issue we ran across was finding the front door since we arrived after dark. We didn't realize the entrance was a side door in between the garage and the actual house, but once we figured that part out, it was smooth sailing from there.
Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to stay and experience life by the beach side of the Pacific Ocean. -

We stay at the house for three night while we drove around the Oregon Coast. It was so quiet and peaceful there and we loved the extra that were added in the house. We had such a wonderful stay at the cabin and in the wonderful little town of Oceanside. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking and the kids loved their bedrooms and all of the toys, games and Legos that were provided. They came in handy on those few days we had rain. The cabin is in a perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the coastline and is an easy walk to the beach. Even our 4 year old's little legs managed without complaint. The town is small and friendly and meals at both Rosanna's and Brewin' in the Wind were wonderful. We can hardly wait to make our way back here.

Rory was awesome to work with as we prepared to go on our vacation. Knotty Pine is a cozy and inviting beach house. The kids loved the toys, books, games, and puzzles. The Kapla blocks and pirate ships were extremely popular. My son and husband really enjoyed the wet suits that Rory provides and were able to enjoy boogie boarding despite the cold water. We were amazed at the number of wetsuits and the range of sizes Rory has generously allowed for the use of guests. Rory also has many boogie boards to use, sand toys, and a burley to carry kids to and from the beach. The tree deck offers a fabulous view of the ocean and we enjoyed our view from the front living area as well. The kids also loved the bunk beds, which were doubles or queens, certainly not singles. All four of our kids got to stay in the one bedroom with the bunks and had a blast in there together. It was fantastic because kids always fight about the top bunk and this one can sleep 2! That left 1 bedroom with a queen bed still available. Knotty Pine is well-stocked with spices and other food basics as well as ample pots, pans, dishes, kitchen utensils and tools, etc. Rory has thought of almost everything. There was laundry detergent available, bathroom supplies, and even a first aid kit, and not so common bathroom supplies like diaper rash ointment. Knotty Pine is close to many fun adventures including tidepooling, clamming, crabbing, Cape Meares Lighthouse, Munson Creek Falls, Tillamook Cheese Factory, The 3 capes. We had an incredible time! Knotty Pine Cabin is a great place to stay when you are in Oceanside! Our only complaint was we had to leave too quickly. Thanks for a great 4 days!

My wife and I came in February with our newborn to get some solitude and fresh ocean air during the end of our famlily medical leave. We found the cabin fairly easily and it is indeed very cute and cozy. What really stood out is that it was filled with every amenity you can think of and more. The washer/dryer worked great with all the newborn spit ups on our clothes. The kitchen was quite stocked with every little thing from sugar and flour to cooking oil. The view onto the ocean and rocks was simply gorgeous and mesmerizing. We absolutely loved the wood fireplace and the adjacent shed had plenty of firewood. There was a television and DVD player Plus an extensive library of movies to watch. The internet was speedy and there is a complimentary home phone to use. The town itself is small but with great charm. The only downside is there's no cell phone reception in the town (and the house), but that added to our much needed solitary respite.
There are some nice restaurants in nearby Netarts with very tasty local seafood.
My wife and I will always remember this place fondly. I can still hear the crackling fireplace and ocean waves... -

This was our second time out to the Oregon coast. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was easy to pretend that we lived there for a couple of days. The view was awesome from the treehouse. The 4 year-old with us enjoyed all the toys, the swings, and the treehouse. Rory even called to check on us, which I think was a nice touch. It was so nice to have all the little things you don't think to bring- aluminum foil, can opener, etc. The one disappointment was the house cleaning. The toilet was dirty, as were some of the dishes. Perhaps a thorough deep clean more often?

The Knotty Pine Cabin was a perfect getaway for a week's retreat at my favorite north Oregon coast town, Oceanside. From the warmth of the pine wood to the beautiful fireplace with insert that kicked out the heat on those rainy days, this cabin was fantastic. Yes, and cozy, in that it had everything to make it feel like a well-loved home: overstuffed chairs, couch, great Tv's, movies, puzzles, games, super comfortable master bed (I didn't try out the others), lots of blankets, towels, and the kitchen was fully stocked including good knives! While there was no bathtub, the shower was fine with plenty of hot water, and the bathroom was nice and clean. Oceanside is a hill town and the cabin sits up a couple blocks from the beach. This allows ample views out the many windows. The deck would be a great place to hang out on sunny, warm days. And, of course, whatever age, the treehouse must be climbed into! Oceanside is a quiet town, with one good restaurant and cafe. This is the place for lots of beachwalking, reading, and watching the sea and sky. Rory was a pleasure to work with in arranging my stay. I will definitely be back.

Knotty Pine Ocean View cabin was a delightful, cozy place for our month long vacation. It is well furnished with all the comforts of home and the addition of a lovely view along the coastline to the south. For one week we were 5 adults and 2 preschoolers and all fit comfortably. The living area is charming although the furniture required lots of pillows and "helps" to be luxuriously comfortable. The beds were wonderful! Rory was a delight to work with; so helpful and accommodating. The area retains the "remote" feel of the coast of 50 years ago (tourists are not swarming over everything) yet has a first class restaurant in Roseanna's. We were more than satisfied with our time at Knotty Pine and left reluctantly.

We recently spent several delightful days at the Knotty Pine Cabin. It turned out to be my idea of the perfect beach cabin in one of my favorite non-touristy towns on the Oregon Coast. The cabin is charming, well-maintained, and has a beautiful view from the spacious living room windows and from the deck. We appreciated a well stocked kitchen and grilled fish fresh off the dock on the barbecue. The owner responded promptly to my inquiry, provided detailed and accurate information about the cabin and its amenities, and even e-mailed me on my check-in date to let me know the cabin would be available earlier than the usual time. This was a terrific rental experience and dog friendly as well!

Yes, there's internet. There's unlimited local and long distance phone (no cell phone reception). There's cable TV. But who needs it? With the front porch, the view from the living room, a "tree house" view, a wonderfully comfortable bed in a quiet area with a wonderful beach (make sure you walk through the rock, especially at low tide), three restaurants, and no traffic lights ... it was an ideal get-a-way. The house has a well-stocked kitchen, firewood for the fireplace, wetsuites, etc. For two of us, it was perfect. The two extra bedrooms are small, but who needs bedroom space with all this? The owners were great to work with ... very helpful and accomodating. Another pro: delicious water. Con: light switches: Find them in the daylight, and you'll be fine lol.

If your brave enough to put on one of the 20 some wet suits available including a dozen boggie boards, your all setup to try your hand at riding a wave.
The corner lot offers some privacy other locations do not provide. The two adult beds are very comfortable and the built-in bunk style beds would be perfect if I was willing to bring the kids and ruin a perfectly quiet & relaxing visit for the two of us. (-;
The kitchen is more then adequate for cooking meals and provided all the utensils necessary.

This was a perfect location for a family get away. Teenagers are difficult to please when away from home. Knotty Pines eliminated any home separation anxiety. It truly was home away from home. Nothing was lacking. An open invitation was extended by Rory to make use of what you needed to be happy. The location was ideal for travel up and down the coast or deep within the surrounding forests. The short walk down to the ocean was looked forward to by all. Awaiting low-tide to tide pools and search out treasures of the sea stacks...and tunnels...truly amazing. Invitations to use wet suits...not just talk...Rory has the equipment. There was something for each of us to be entertained.
Bonfires at night...eagles and peregrines, as well as, the other sea birds...too much fun. We were loathe to leave but felt blessed to have found this ocean side jewel. Thankyou from all of us. -

As it happened we were treated to rare coastal sunshine and warmth!

PortlandA Great Find on the Oregon Coast
Left on 04/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
In the quest of making an onerous chore a little more pleasurable, I boxed up all my receipts and tax forms and headed to Oceanside and the Knotty Cabin. Seated in my chair, the fireplace roaring, cookies in the oven and a wonderful view of the ocean in front of me, I don't think I could have found a more tranquil setting to wrestle with the tax demons. I have spent many happy times at this cabin, and each time I stay there I fall more in love with it. This is the quintessential Oregon cabin experience and a prescription for a happy face.

What a great get away for Spring Break the Knotty Pine Cabin at Oceanside, or was. Suitable (child proof) for a one year old and a 7 year old. Enough comfortable beds for all. What a fully stocked kitchen, I packed more than we needed. Great views even when it was raining. We will definitely be back.

The Knotty Pine was the perfect place for a cozy winter beach weekend. We really enjoyed the fireplace and all of the wood that Rory provided. The house had absolutely everything we needed and we were able to cook two great meals in the fully stocked kitchen. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon! No complaints from us!

We had a fantastic visit to the Knotty Pine cabin in Oceanside. Not only was this home comfy (the bed was heavenly, down comforter and all) it was well stocked and had a great selection of games and movies. we loved the fireplace, the great wall of windows facing the ocean and the tree house. The town of Oceanside was nice and quiet, and there was a great little coffee shop a few blocks down the hill. The beach was great, and the tunnel to the short beach was really fun. All in all we loved our stay here and had no complaints. Our doggy loved it too, she though the beaches were great! Thanks Rory & co. for making my bday trip lovely!

Thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful little place! The view was fabulous and the boys got a huge kick out of the wetsuits and wake boards! The fact that staples were provided in the kitchen was a wonderful surprise, as were the toilet paper, soap and washer and dryer. We enjoyed the deck and the treehouse and especially the fireplace.

Moraga, CAA great weekend on the Oregon coast!
Left on 10/25/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Thanks for sharing your cozy cottage with us! We had a great time and especially appreciated the orientation book that you provided with suggestions of places to go, things to do, and good restaurants. You also provided a terrific selection of films, toys, games, etc. to keep every age happy. It stormed most of the weekend so we were inside a lot, but it didn't matter...we loved being there in spite of the weather.

Portland, ORA perfect retreat
Left on 10/05/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I found this to be a perfect retreat for me. The house was lovely, fully stocked and very clean. The wonderful plank paneling on the walls and ceilings, in addition to the fireplace and ocean views made it feel very homey. It was just a short walk to the beach, where you can explore the coast for miles. I even tried some boogie boarding (fun!) while the more adventurous surfed. Unlike many coastal towns, Oceanside isn't overrun by traffic because there's no through highway. That makes it nice and slow-paced and quiet. Even so, there's an excellent restaurant ("Roseanna's") plus a handy coffee shop (which also makes a fine chowder) and a bar. Everything I needed, and the tree house in the side yard turned out to be a perfect place to just sit and watch the sea.

Fantastic Get away Experience, A very cozy, warm, inviting cabin. Reading by the fireplace was totally relaxing when mixed in with walks on the beach. Incredibly well equipped; like never leaving home. Watching the sunset over the ocean from the treehouse was ultra cool! We'll certainly come back. Perfect town and place, if you just really want to unwind & relax.

Portland ORA Wonderful Vacation
Left on 02/25/2010 for a stay in October 2009
We really enjoyed our stay. We wished it was
longer. We loved the fireplace with wood provided,
the great movie selection and the cozy kitchen
being fully stocked. My mom slept in the master
room and commented they were the best nights of
sleep she'd had in ages. The cabin is perfect for an intimate time with people you love. It felt like home. (My mom used to live in a cabin about that size on the water on Bainbridge Island). I wish I could live there for three months! I will definitely recommend the knotty pine to friends and don't be surprised if we rent it again! Thanks for sharing your space.
