-service: super-organized and efficient, very friendly, prompt regarding booking, fees, deposit return
-local caretaker: friendly, handy, conveniently close, internet and power was out in half the cottage when we arrived but Patrick got everything fixed the next day. Arlene had a fresh fruit bowl and beautiful flowers set out for our arrival. Patrick's dining and coffee shop recommendations were bang-on. These people are foodies!
-cottage is cute and cozy; everything you need is provided. We cooked one of our best meals in the tiny kitchen and ate by candlelight in front of the oceanview windows. (Thursday farmers market in town offers fresh veggies, pasta, oils, dressings, soaps, jewelry, etc.) Cottage is vintage but well-looked after and nicely done up. Proximity to the water is perfect--only a walkway and some boulders between you and the ocean so we loved the crash of the waves. A fair bit of walk-by traffic, especially on weekends so with all the windows facing out, it's not the most private but you can draw the shades if you like. If you were located further down The Strand, you'd get a lot more people plus cars going by . . . this cottage location is nice because it's on a dead-end, quieter part of the strip. And the public beach areas are further up or down the coast, not right at your door.
-amenities: nice to have access to washer and dryer. Charcoal BBQ available for use on the shared patio. Folding lawn chairs provided although a bit rickety. We set them on the waterside boulders and read there on our first day.
-parking: we never had any problems finding street parking right by our place but do take care with the parking restrictions. Read the no parking signs on both sides of the street, as they are different for each side. We only read the signs on one side and assumed the restrictions were for the entire street. Wrong! We got a $58 parking ticket!
- Oceanside: is a very quiet, laid-back community. Everything is casual so if you stay here, you won't need dress clothes. It's conveniently located so you can easily get to San Diego, Carlsbad, Encinitas, La Jolla. We took a scenic drive up the coast through Laguna, Newport and Huntington Beach one day; also did some moderate hikes in the area. -

Eric and arlene are fantastic! Professional, polite, and super helpful. The cottage was very clean, well kept, and included everything you need for a great stay. Lots of light funnels thru the front room when the curtains are open and the water is so close you feel like you'll almost get wet if a big wave rolls in! We loved it!

The cottage had the best view/location if you want to be on the beach! It was very clean. The owner, as well as the cartakers were very professional and answered all of our questions we had before and during our vacay! Other than the futon being uncomfortable, everything was exceptional. The actual bed in the bedroom was however comfortable.(we just let our little one have the room so we could watch tv at night) They think of everything!(boogie boards, laundry services, all household supplies). It is Cozy, clean, and awesome beachfront property! Thanks :)

We're delighted that this vacation had a wonderful time at our Beachfront Cottage in Oceanside.
We are surprised that they found the futon uncomfortable. We had a number of comments in the past about the futon. However we then replaced the futon mattress with a new futon mattress that had the highest ratings that we could find - anywhere - for comfort. I guess we will have to research this issue and see if we can find another futon mattress that is rated higher for customer satisfaction, -

This cottage is such a quaint, adorable place and in the most convenient location. We loved hearing, seeing, and smelling the ocean everyday. The cottage was clean, comfortable and better than we expected. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely return to that cottage the next time we come to Oceanside.
In addition to the property being above our expectations, both the owner and caretakers are extremely responsive, professional, and so welcoming. Customer service experts indeed.

This was from a lovely couple from Chicago who came out for a week in our Beachfront Cottage. They wanted to take a break from Chicago
and spend some time at the Ocean, since all that they had in Chicago was a "big lake". They are planning on coming back next year. -

We booked Cottage over Internet from Italy. Owner's Italian not so good, but with Iphone, my English much better. Wonderful Cottage right at the Ocean. We were surprised to get very nice Beachfront for such a good rate. Owner became very good Internet Guide for us and made trip much easier. Owner even had birthday cake and flowers for my girlfriend, very, very, nice. Will gladly rent from Owner when we return to USa next year. Great bargain and romantick Beachfront Cottage. Gratzi, Gratzi, Gratzi.

Lovely couple and their friend from Italy. Edgar wanted to show his girlfriend California and the Southwest. He put 3000 miles on a Bronco over a two week period. I helped set up special passes for them at Universal Studios.

Omg - What a find!! The Ocean is right out our 3 large windows. I don't think that there is any other property on the beach with a better, closer view. I came to Oceanside to spend a month at Pendleton processing legal cases. This Cottagw was such a great find that my wife joined me for the duration of my assignment. The owner was great to work with and very proactive to ensure that all of our needs were met - before we arrived. The recent improvements were on schedule and the place was ready for us. We had a very romantic time and will definitely do this again. It was just like being on our Honeymoon again. Thanks for a wonderful time and location.

I stayed in the owner's cottage from 10/2009 till 3/2010 - during a corporate relocation. What a find!! This unit is right on the ocean. Couldn't get a better location. Small but cozy for my wife and I. Million dollar views from the 3 front windows! Owner goes to great lengths to make sure vacationers are "happy campers". We are dragging out finding a new home, likely in Temecula, as we don't want to lose this Magnificent View and location! We would definitely stay here again and will refer friends and relatives to stay here as well!
