Why do you go to hawaii? Location! That is why we stayed in cottage # 9 from beachfront rentals for the fourth time. The cottage is right on the sand! No cars! No roads between you and the beach. Imagine opening up your french doors to see the ocean right in front of you, the ocean breeze massaging your senses! Reserve cottage # 9. Like us I am sure you will go back again.

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We woke up early every day to see the waves rolling into the Oceanside pier from our private porch. After our breakfast smoothies, we walked the dog down the strand, nodding to all the friendly morning hikers for a brisk 45 minutes until we reached the Harbor. Surfers were enjoying the waves the entire way. After surfing a variety of breaks from Cardiff to San Onofre, we relaxed on the sunny, community deck to read before heading out again right in front of the bungalow for a sunset surf session. Our friends joined us for wine and appetizers around the warm gas fire pit as we discussed where and what to eat for dinner. Every night we slept like babies with the soft sound of waves. We met some lovely people staying at other units and our dog was as happy as ever to spend the entire vacation with us. Next fall, we plan to stay for the third time. I recommend trying the units at every season, as we've discovered each has a special aspect to treasure and so far, always offers great waves.

We stayed in unit #9 with the fenced sand yard facing the water. From what we had read from the managers we expected more. No paved path to door. Had to drag all items through the sand. We stayed for a week and had quite a lot of stuff with us. Parking was iffy. Wifi was off more than on. Front window leaked badly when it rained. The only way to use the over was with our extension cord otherwise it kept blowing the fuse. Bedroom window couldn't be opened for fear it would fall out of the casing. Kitchen extremely cramped. No heat in bedroom or bathroom. No fan in bathroom. These units should have been torn down years ago. If you don't mind camping, this is the place for you. We really don't have a good thing to say about these accommodations.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here. Regarding some of the mentioned items, the oven has been fixed, and the windows have been replaced. The wall heater in the main living area is meant to heat the entire place, being that it is a smaller unit. For the extra cold and warm nights, our operations department is always just a call away and can provide extra fans and space heaters. The kitchen is small, but we feel the size is accurately portrayed in the photographs. This is probably by far our most popular property, for its location on the beach, private deck space, and value. We do have 50+ other luxury rentals that perhaps next time you may be interested in. Thank you for your review ~ The Team at Beachfront Only.

Peoria, AZWe had a nice relaxing time staying right on the beach.
Left on 12/18/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We had unit#9 which had a fenced in patio. It was wonderful being able to sit outside and enjoy the waves. The fenced area was great for our dog. At night, we really enjoyed sitting out by the firepit.
Our only gripe was that there was no storage-cabinets or shelves- in the kitchen to put any items that we brought with us. Every nook and cranny was full of items. Also, if someone was taking a shower and the toilet was flushed, the water pressure in the shower ceased to exist and the water became cold. After that, if the toilet needed to be flushed, a warning had to be sent!
Overall, a great time was had by all and the price for this small unit was very reasonable. I really appreciated being able to bring my dog along on the vacation. Since we came in November, we pretty much had the place to ourselves! -

Trying all the rooms. Each has a benifit. But a wedding next door sort of ruined the first day. They took/used all our tables and we had to eat standing up. Then they left their trash so it was a wasted day, our first day only. We will go back as soon as possible. I also wish they had 2 tv's as dad and the kids had to trade off football and spongebob?Really need 2 tv's if you have kids.

Left on 10/05/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed for 3 weeks so I brought my own plastic shelving to make to put food on and clothes. I was happy to see shelving in the bathroom it helped so you were able to put thing on. I would recommend having some hanging hooks by the door or bathroom to hang beach towels or sweatshirts or jackets. Other than that we had everything we needed. Yes I have recommended it to friends. The property was clean I would say a 5, the location a 5 the managers were a 5. They brought us over a cofee pot right away when ours broke. Very caring. We loved the fire pit. I hope that they don't tear the cottages down, as we plan to come again next year. Thanks, Sheila

The condo location is nice, just steps from the sands. However, the condo is old and not very clean. The bed, the furniture, towels are not clean. The management is not really acessible when you really need their help. On our 1st night there, we could not start the stove, we did not know what to do to fix our dinner. I called the number that provided for the guest to call until 8PM, I did not have any answer until the next morning around 11 AM. Luckily, on that night my husband found out that the gas line to the stove was turned off but it was not mentioned in the information that they e-mailed me prior to my arrival. I is below our expectation for the price that we paid.

Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our family had a great time, we even were able to bring our dog. Best part was the close proximity to the beach, and most of the other vacationers we met were very nice. I did not like the smoking on the terrace - I know there is not much you can do, but it was not good to have the kids around it. Our patio umbrella was broken, and the staff replaced it right away, very efficient. Wish there was towel service though - it was so humid the towels were always moist and mildewy. We would definitely visit again - do you have any properties on the sand in Carlsbad or Encinitas?

This place is right on the sand. It was wonderful to have the doors open and hear the ocean all day long. It was clean, very cute, and cozy. A perfect place for a a family with small children. The common area next door was great for kids to run around, making smores, and just hanging out. The price was great for being right on the beach. The only negative I can list was that we stayed over the weekend and there was a bit of foot traffic at night on the path outside the patio. Overall, great quaint place to stay.

Plano, TexasBasic Cottage
Left on 06/15/2010 for a stay in June 2010
This cottage was basic, small and not very functional since there was no place to set things like toiletry items in the bathroom and no counter space in the kitchen. The location right next to the ocean is great but that also includes crowds walking in front of the cottage all day. Oceanside is not as nice as some of the other surrounding towns. We brought 2 dogs with us so our choices were limited in places to rent but I will try harder next time to find a better place! The cottage was dog friendly since there was a space right next door to walk them which was a plus.

We are sorry that you found the space small and dysfunctional. We have added shelves/storage to our bungalows to help with this issue. Because the location is right on the beach, there will be foot traffic infront of the units. For a one bedroom beachfront rental, there really isn't anything more private in terms of beach. ~ The team at Beachfront Only

Left on 11/12/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This was the first time we ever rented something on the beach. It was truly a great experience, and the place we rented was very comfortable with a full kitchen. The kitchen is a great feature, because you could have breakfast at your own convenience, not having to rush in the morning to step out to grab something, before it is too late. The private patio was also a nice feature, where we dried all our wet suits and other gears. The bed room was comfortable for two while the additional sofa bed came in handy for the third person. We are a family of three ands it is just perfect for a family of our size. The staff were very courteous and helpful. They also have somebody who attends to emergencies 24/7, which is also comforting. Listening to the sound of waves hiting the shore, which was pretty much our entrance to the cottage, was extremely relaxing. Overall a great experience and we had a comfortable stay, and would return back.

Left on 10/04/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Will visit again for sure. Customer Service was unbelievably superb. When I needed something, it was delivered IMMEDIATELY. The bathtub didn't have I stopper - I HAVE to take bath's - a stopper was delivered in about 30 seconds. There was a power failure my first night (not the fault of Beachfront) and we all got dry ice delivered to us which was appreciated because I had $81. worth of rib eye steaks in the freezer. The only thing is that there is hardly any water pressure if somebody in another unit is bathing the same time you are. Also, carpet is not a good idea for a beach rental. You are either wet from washing off sand before entering the unit or someone is always tracking in sand. Again, in times when customer service is almost non-existent, These people exist for your every whim. Thanks for the best vacation I've had in a long time.

This little rental is perfect for a couple or people like us with a toddler. It is cozy so older children or more people would be tight. The view from the livingroom is AWESOME! We opened the French doors and it was heaven. It feels very private because in addition to the shared patio you have your own little patio and picnic table. It was so close to the beach access we could run up and down when we needed to. Great with a small child! The rental was small but clean and well stocked. The bed was comfortable which is always important. The water pressure was typical of the beach. If no one in the other units was using a lot it was ok....otherwise low. There is no A/C and no ceiling fans. They do provide a small portable fan, but larger ones would have helped when it was late afternoon. I would suggest that they leave the windows open so that your 4pm check in isn't like walking into an oven. Honestly, we were a little unsure about the unit when we first got there simply because it was ridiculously hot and stuffy when we got in. We almost left. It did cool with the evening and the windows open and the next morning as we had breakfast with the great view we were sold. The site says they DO NOT allow early check in but the day after we checked in the unit beside us had people checking in about 2 pm. We would have loved that since you cannot check in until 4pm and check out is 10 am.....kinda get ripped on that costwise. You are paying for the view and close beach access. They do have a really nice common patio are with nice tables, chairs, gas grill, and a sand play area with toys. We saw the crew every morning cleaning and doing the general maintance, and they were very nice and respectful that you were on vacation. Our last night someone checked into another unit that stayed out in the common area till 4 am partying and that was BAD(having to have the windows open for air.)There needs to be a contact person for those problems.

The property was fantastic - we enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing . . . the unit could really really use some ceiling fans. Although there is a nice ocean breeze when you leave the french doors open, you cannot leave those doors open at night when you sleep (as there is no locked screen) and it seemed excessively stuffy when those doors were closed. Otherwise, perfect.

We stayed here for a surprise engagement dinner and things could not have been more perfect. The location is fantastic with the beach being just below the rocks. This little bungalow was surrounded by much bigger, much nicer properties. I imagined that all of the surrounding properties would be old and run down, but I was wrong. We chose it first for it's size since there were only two of us, and second for it's price. Unit #9 was facing the water. There were large rocks that the water came up to during high tide, but at low tide you could walk on the beach. It was a nice walk to the pier. The kitchen and bath had been updated. The bath needed some hooks, another towel bar and a shelf (pedestal sinks are pretty but need storage)! The chair bottomed out and should be replaced. I would stay here again in a minute, though. Loved the Hill Street Cafe.

My husband and I just learned about this particular property in November last year. Since then, we have already stayed there twice and are scheduled to stay another weekend. We have told several of our friends and they too have stayed there. We LOVE this property and are very saddened to hear of them taking them down to put up larger units. We love to get away at least 3 times a year and this is the perfect getaway for a couple. The other units are for bigger parties and this isn't for us. Please say there will be more units available to rent from BEACH FRONT ONLY for the couples like us!! The property management staff are the most amazing individuals I have dealt with in a long time. They are always friendly and help with anything and everything. Thank you BFO for a wonderful weekend in Oceanside.

Our week in the #9 bungalow in Oceanside was wonderful! Although the bungalow is small, it has all the comforts we could have asked for, including a picnic table and Weber BBQ in your private patio area, just steps away from the surf. We enjoyed our coffee each morning sitting at the picnic table watching the dolphins, seals, whales and surfers - incredible! Inside we found everything we needed to feel at home; the kitchen is well stocked, the bathroom good sized and the king size bed very comfortable. With weather in the 80's we did not need the heater, but heat and fans were available. We had a few concerns the first morning, called the rental office, and found the staff to be very nice and willing to go "the extra mile" to ensure our comfort and happiness. The only downside to the bungalow was the construction happening right next door which starts every morning at 7am. That disturbance was far outweighed by the positives of having a front door on the ocean complete with beautiful sights and sunsets. We could not have been happier, fully intend to go back again and to recommend this spot to our friends and relatives.

Company was very professional to deal with. Unfortunately, Condo is not up to same standards. Screen door off track on arrival, TV not working, heater not working, light bulbs burned out. Called company that evening, no one showed up. Called again next day, person said they were not aware of the problems. Construction crew working right next door started at 7 am each morning except Christmas. Looks as though these units are slated for demolition next to make room for more expensive units. Company should have advised us of these conditions so we could have made alternate arrangements.

This was a great place to get away and relax. We had a few problems. There was a smell of gas and it made it hard to sleep andgave us headaches and with heater being out the portable did not keepthe back part of house warm. There were a few roaches. Thought they would offer discount on next trip due to problems but no response

GeorgiaGreat location/terrible accomodations
Left on 11/19/2008 for a stay in June 2008
The interior furnishings were decent but the building structure was terrible! Sliding screen door kept falling off, the stove was constantly hot and heated up the living area to an uncomfortable degree. Windows did not lock without a pole being placed in the track, plastic verticle blinds kept crumbling and falling off the track. I had to hang a towel over the sliding glass door for privacy (patio faced a public walk way). Holes in bathroom wall & tub. Roach droppings were all over the tub upon check in. Roaches were terrible. We did not feel comfortable at all.

We had a wonderfull time right on the beach in an affordable rental. This was very relaxing. The building is older but well kept. You should bring additional towels if your staying more than a day.

Left on 11/05/2008 for a stay in September 2008
The beach was nice but it was hot and all they had was a couple of fans, They were so old, noisey, and dirty. The sink was so old and dingy and had no place to put your toothpast, pills, glass, and etc.The main chair was broke down. And I know people have a right to smoke but it kept us from spending time on the padio because it kept drifting over. But the beach was wonderful.

Los AngelesFirst family vacation!
Left on 11/05/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We went to Oceanside, CA with our 2 year old daughter for our first official vacation. We stayed at 835 #9, which is a one bedroom, one bath with a full kitchen. It was one of the best vacations I have ever been on. In the morning my daughter and I would go out on our huge patio and cheer on the surfers. I cooked most meals in the kitchen. Our family went to the San Diego Zoo and basically hung out on the beach for 7 days. Off of the house/ bungalow was the beach; so it was great if we needed any food or drink, especially when you have a 2 year old. At night my husband and I would relax with a glass of wine, listening to the surf crash on the sand. The bungalow was clean, fully stocked, and very homey. For a week we felt we were in a home away from home. My daughter loved the ocean and learned about Dolphins, fish and surfers! We will definitely come back and only go through Beachfront Only Rentals. Everyone was so accommodating and nice. It has been 3 months since we came back and I think about the week in Oceanside everyday. I will show my daughter video one day of her playing in the surf, and talking about the many animals we say on our first family vacation. Thank you for helping to create an unforgettable experience and GO SURFERS!

This property really needs to be torn down. I had to constantly sweep up the patio due to the termites eating up the fence. Holes in interior walls and ceilings allow bugs full access. Windows and doors are not secure at all! One window would not lock so a piece of pipe was placed in the track. My husband hardly got any sleep because he was worried someone would try to break in. View and location to the beach was wonderful. Just not a very relaxing experience due to the age and condition of the building. Clean up crew showed up at 9am (an hour before we were to check out) and we felt rushed out.

We really loved staying here, but since you ask...The living room chair was impossible to sit in - so worn out we sunk into it. there was very little storage room for our stuff! For more storage, there is room in the bathroom. we suggest shelving for personal items and flat surfaces to put toothbrushes, makeup & shaving items on. The bed was great!
