Just back from our stay in D11. Enjoyed our stay, unit is as pictured. Fully stocked kitchen, very clean, great location, super comfortable bed. Yes, bathroom is small, but really no issues. Felt very secure and loved that we are in the center of town, so could walk to most outings. The owner was a delight to work with and made the booking process super easy. Face towels and towels in general were in short supply and the internet isn't wireless, so plan accordingly.

My husband, 4 month old daughter and I just returned from a week long stay in studio D11. The studio is just as in the pictures. The bed is nice and comfy and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need if you want to cook. The location is great! We loved being right in the town and so close to the beach. The bathroom is like other reviews said- small and a bit dated(or just refinished poorly). I would say that's the only part of the studio that could be better, but hey it's a bathroom and it wouldn't stop us from staying there again. Sandcastles has lots of security which made us feel safe. The grounds were ok but there is a lot of work to be done to the exterior of the buildings to make them look their best. you cannot compare this place to the riu or you will dissappointed. We didn't spend anytime by the pool...it also needs some work. The beach is right there so that was our preference. Overall for the value and our expectations I would rate this place a 5/5.

I am writing this review on the room, not the resort. The resort leaves a lot to be desired. It's slow and seems to have had its day several years ago. It is right downtown so getting somewhere is a snap. The room D11 is well maintained with everything that you would need. WiFi would be nice instead of having a cord to plug in since most people bring portable devices now and not laptops. Bedside lamps should have a switch. The rest of the room was great. The shower is very small and probably would benefit from a curtain instead of shower doors. Communication with the owners was fast and courteous and Miss Jean and her daughter were excellent. I had them make me a couple of meals while I was there. They are the ones that maintain the place and take the deposit. I would recommend this place.

Studio D11 is perfect for the price. I've stayed at Sunset Jamaca Grande which is up the street from Studio D11. I actually prefer staying at the Studio buying a bottle of rum and mixers and eating right in town so I can have seafood and the food I enjoy. Local cuisine just has way more flavor.
The studio is very clean and I love the color and decor. It wasn't a problem for me or my friend but the shower is small and aside from that everything else is fine. Desrine was very helpful and responded quickly to emails. Miss Jean was very sweet as well. She was there to greet us give us the key and show us around the property as well as how things worked. Cable internet is available right in the room if you need to plug up your laptop. I didn't see the cord right away because I didn't look good enough. But Desrine responded quickly to my email so I was able to get online easily. I'm sure Miss Jean would have been able to assist as well, but I was having issues with reception on my cell phone at the time I was trying to get online.
Studio D11 is already located next to everything on the main strip. There are several restaurants on the strip in different price ranges. There was a spot right next door which was very cheap and opened early for breakfast. They had things like dumpling and callaloo which were delicious as well as the basic scrambled eggs for only $3. It rained a little on and off so we also ate across the street at John Crows which was good as well. They also had free wifi so you could catch up with the rest of the world as you waited for dinner. Several restaurants on the strip offer free wifi. The Studio is walking distance from Margaritaville, Devon House Ice Cream, Juci Patties, grocery store, souvenir shops and a bunch of restaurants. I'd look up restaurants on Main Street on tripadvisor and just give the ones you think you may like a try.
The only thing that was a little annoying was we had to walk around to the beach. We had to wait for the employees at Sand Castle to open the back gate close to the beach. We were told that they would see us on the security camera and open the gate. But they would never come back down to open the gate so we just walked and didn't bother with them. Walking around actually brings right to the beach entrance anyway.
My friend had never done any excursions while in Jamaica and while on the beach they had several excursions available which were cheaper than going with the bigger companies and still just as fun. We did horseback riding on the beach, which wasn't with the larger company so we were a little skeptical at first but ended up having an amazing time and saving about $40 each. On the beach they will negotiate prices with you. -

Just returned for a five night stay and had a blast...it is exactly as seen in the photos. This is an owner maintained complex in Sandcastles resort and from what I understand it is a jewel. The owner of this apartment is very considerate and does ensure her guest are taken cared of during their stay.
I had a blast...The apartment was great...The other facilities in the resort itself is ok...decent enough pool that is clean...But face it your in Ohio Rios your not going to be in the apartment...Your going to be out..
Please not i can only vouch for this apartment. Not sure about the others in the complex.
Had a blass great location with shops and food all in walking distance.. Worth the money. Will return... -

We loved our stay at studio D11. The owner, Desrine, is great to deal with. Miss Jean, the housekeeper, is so great in accommodating us when we arrived early and when we departed even earlier at an ungodly hour of 6 am. The condo is clean and tastefully decorated. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. I slept better there than I did at home. The location is perfect. We were within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and the beach. We also found the staff at the resort very friendly and helpful. The grounds are so beautiful. We really miss our daily walks and favourite restaurants on Main Street, Ocho Rios. Just lovely.

Really nice place to stay, I didn't have any problems, clubs, grocery stores, places to eat and drink were all in walking distance..it's quite a few cats on the resort...they used the restroom by my room and for a 1/2 night I smelled it...But other than that..Perfect!!!

I am so happy I found this property on Trip advisor. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, and couldn't have been more accommodating.
I went to Jamaica to meet a friend, and get some R & R. This was the perfect place for us.
The resort itself is in need of some TLC, but Studio D11 is very well maintained and had all the amenities I needed. You can prepare some meals if on a budget, and save money for shopping or going out. Everything needed is there, and ready for use. It's clean and nicely decorated. They have a housekeeper you can use. I didn't use her, but she was available with a phone call.
For me, the only downfall was the small shower...but it's just a shower!!! It worked great, so I got over it fast.
Can I say location, location, location. Everything you need is within walking distance. The beach, shopping, dining, and some great places to party.
I will definitely stay here again. I couldn't have been happier staying in Studio D11.

I stayed at this gorgeous spot at xmas time,i had a fabulous time.The condo had everything you will need for your stay.The room is very clean and the king bed is most comfortable,i rest very well.For a solo or a romantic get away ,this is the ideal spot.management is helpful and can be reach at anytime.No problem man.
I would be delighted to stay there again.Location is in the heart of Ocho Rios you can walk to almost anywhere and find what you want,shopping,dining,parting,bars. beach you name it,its in reach. -

For a beautiful suite in the center of Ocho Rios, this is the place to stay. The bachelor apartment is exquisitely decorated and provides all the comforts of home. The ideal place to stay in Ocho Rios, as it is within walking distance to all amenities in town as well as only a short walk to the beach. The owners are more than accomodating when making your arrangements and the caretaker "cares", he called to check up on me several times during my stay. I would highly recommend this suite to anyone who wants to stay in Ocho Rios.

Studio D11 is the perfect location for anyone who wishes to stay in Ocho Rios and not feel confined to a huge resort. The location of the room makes all of Ochi accessible and within walking distance. The studio apartment is beautiful to say the least with all the amenities that you would want. I have stayed in several hotels in Ocho Rios and none could compare to this one. Studio D11 is definately my lodging of choice for all of my return visits to Jamaica.

You will love this unit!! Clean,nicely decorated and equipped with everything you required for your stay. The pool and bar on the resort are both very nice. Beach is steps away and security is always visible. Your in the heart of the town, everything you need is only steps away! This unit is perfect for a romantic getaway, book with confidence!!
