Description from the manager

Hermosa Cove is a series of artfully-designed, relaxed, and comfortable Caribbean-style boutique villas opening December 2010 in Ocho Rios. Bathed in natural light, each villa is nestled in an intimate garden setting for ultimate privacy. Together, the nine suites create a seaside village atmosphere. There are a total of 15 rooms—three 3-bedroom villas and six 1-bedroom villas. Two villas offer a spectacular ocean view, but all nine villas are less than a 100-step stroll to the beach.

Hermosa Cove gave us a genuine experience of Jamaica in a luxury

Left on 09/11/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The nine villas are appointed with the most interesting examples of antiques an,d art and craft, much of it made on the island in the Ocho Rios area. Our Villa, with its plunge pool, outdoor dining area, and private balcony off the master bedroom, was artfully separated by courtyard walls and spectacular native landscaping, including a large cotton silk tree with its impressive buttress roots. We felt like we were in a secluded neighborhood and not a commercial resort. Everything was immaculately maintained by knowledgeable staff who shared information on the nearby reef, local plants and cuisine. It was so convenient to kayak, swim, and snorkel in the shallow, quiet waters offshore with staff to assist in fitting gear and a beachside shower. The onsite restaurant showcased delicious Jamaican cuisine in all its variety, serving fresh local produce at each meal. We ate each meal on the restaurant veranda with a wonderful view of the water, and in the evenings, spectacular sunsets. Hermosa Cove staff recommended several sidetrips which were amazing: a raft ride down the Rio Grande, a visit to Port antonio with its jerk pits, a ride through the scenic Blue Mountains, a swim in the Blue Lagoon, and an aTV ride through the rain forest and along the rugged shoreline at Robin's Bay. They also pointed out local attractions such as art galleries and craft markets, and the exotic Fern Gully Drive (much of which was closed off for road improvements at the time). We felt as if we had seen so many facets of the real Jamaica.

      New...and worth every dime!

Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Our family had the pleasure of staying in the "Pimento" villa (check out their website for full description) and overall was happy with the size of the bedrooms, but common area such as the living room and kitchen might be a little small for 5 adults and 1 child (we're not complaining). Everything was provided from pots, plates, umbrellas, mosquito repellant (there was no need for it), beach towels etc. you name it...they provided it. We loved the "al fresco" dining, but could see where not everyone would be a fan of dining outdoors. The plunge pool was adequate in size and was devoid of leaves every morning; the housekeeoper did an amazing job of keeping the area clean and tidy. The towels we soft and fluffy, even the shampoo, shower gel etc. were larger that the standard hotel size.

As for the on site restaurant, we utilized it only in the mornings and breakfast was always good and fresh (price $7 - $10 but Continental was complimentary). Even though the menu is limited they offered to cook whatever our little hearts desired.

The beach was quite small, but they had kayaks and other non-motorized beach equipment for use. There are other larger beaches within 5-10 minute drive from the property if this is not adequate. The great thing is that even though this property is situated off the main road it was still in walking distance of the town of Ocho Rios (15-20 min.) and nearby restaurants.

The staff was outstanding and exceeded our expectation at every turn. We thank kathryn, David Lawrence, Missian and all the others that made our stay one to remember. On another note, they recommend that a 10% gratuity be added to your final bill which we did not know(so plan for this), but we left a little something for the housekeeper as we normally do on our trips. We will be back though and do it the right way.

Hermosa Cove truly fits its name, beautiful!

Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in August 2011

My husband and I recently visited Hermosa Cove for our honeymoon, and had a wonderful, relaxing experience. Hermosa Cove surely made our honeymoon a special experience. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to provide us with all our needs. The secluded atmosphere is everything we wanted for a getaway. The private villas are one of a kind, and created a feeling of a home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our own private dip pool as well. It also had a great location, close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Not to mention, a top notch restaurant with a beach view. We loved it so much, we will definitely be returning to Hermosa Cove.
