Frankfort is one of Jamaica's most famous 17th Century fortress which has been resorted with over half a million dollars in refurbishments. This is now one of Jamaica's more remarkable four bedrooms homes on one of Ocho Rio's largest stretch of private white sandy beaches. New renovations has given this historical significant building brand new Italian Travertine floors, with stunning Euro-style modern bbedrooms and all new en-suite bath...rooms with glass-wall showers. The bedrooms are chic with comfortable sitting areas in crisp white fabrics, new carpeting and interiors which have been professionally designed. All the furniture and fabrics were imported from the UK and Europe, many were designed exclusively for Frankfort. Originally a fortified residence dating back to the 17th century, Frankfort is possibly the most desirable property in Jamaica. The private secluded white sand beach is an attraction that has been enjoyed by some of the greatest luminaries of the 20th century including:

Frankfort Villa and Cottage have sole access to a beautiful secluded beach which nestles in a protected cove. The beach is private and there is a gardener who will place your beach chais in the sun or under the umbrellas for your comfort. You may snorkel in your own back yard or on request, your butler is able to hire jet skis, sunset cruis, deep sea fishing etc. There is an onsite Prospect Plantation office for further assistance while you are on vacation.

The main house has a living, dining and powder room downstairs and 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms upstairs. The upstairs bedrooms all open out to a recently added full-length balcony, which covers the downstairs patio as well. All newly renovated bedrooms now have their own flat screen television, wireless internet connection. They all open out through double doors to a large 80' balcony and everyone has ocean views. Each bathroom has been designed with up to date and chik Euro -design Grohe fixtures, double basin vanity and glass-wall shower. Brand new blacko9ut curtains, new carpeting and remote control air conditioning for each room.

The dining area comfortably seats 8-10, whilst a further dining table outside on the verandah has seating for another 8. The large living/dining room extends the full length of the villa and provides all modern comforts: Cable TV, video/DVD (latest films available from the local store), internet access, library and board games.

The verandah contains seating and dining areas and leads out to the tropical gardens and the Caribbean sea just 20 meters away.

The upstairs balcony has views over the gardens to the white sandy beach and the sea. Situated on the beach a few yards away from the main house is a cottage with an additional sitting room downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

This is a wonderful property with absolute beach front, own sandy white sand beach and very private.

Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom: Kingsize bed - ensuite bathroom with brand new Tavertine tiles and glass-wall shower and separate bathtub. Bedroom 2: Twin beds or Kingsize bed, plus a double sofa bed, glass and tile walk-in shower Bedroom 3: Optional kingsize or twin beds plus queensize sofa bed, glass and tile walk-in shower.

4th Bedroom: Accommodation in the "Schoolhouse": Bedroom has optional kingsize bed or twin beds, ensuite bathroom, double basin marble vanity and walk in shower. Waterfront bedroom. Downstairs, there is a large living room with Television and mini-gym - double sofa bed and mini-fridge.

New 5th and 6th bedroom - located in the "Schoolhouse" This is a lovely private schoolhouse which was built in 1953 for the owner's only daughter, Mary Jean. Mary Jean's care and education were looked after by her nanny and tutor. This lovely seaside building was later transformed and a second story was added and the school house was then converted to an air-conditioned cottage, becoming Frankfort's forth bedroom and also houses a wonderful mini-gym for guests.   Frankfort at prospect plantation was a perfect holiday. We visited with two other families over Easter break. For those on the continuous quest for a place that ticks all the grown up and child-friendly boxes, this worked seamlessly. The villa was easy to get to- just an hour and a half drive from Montego Bay or Kingston airports.The villa is set against the backdrop of a beautiful, private, sandy beach. Heaven for adults looking for relaxation and safe for kids to have their own fun. Whenever anybody felt restless, there was plenty to do including a magnificent dolphin cove, funfilled plantation tour, visits to the historic Great House to name a few options. Each were simple to arrange. The interiors of both the villa and school house are immaculate, comfortable and spacious. Each room is decorated with a lovely modern but local feeling of calm. The sevice and staff were delightful and accomodating in every way- from providing delicious local cuisine to specific requests and always smiling and happy to help with the children's needs. There is no question as to whether or not we would return to this property.

  We stumbled upon Frankfort after some friends shared their wonderful vacation experience - and thank goodness we did as now we plan to go back every year and make our Frankfort stay an annual event. We have traveled around the world and stayed at all the 5star resorts and Frankfort is at the top of our list as far as service (impeccable), food (delicious local cuisine), accommodation (comfortable beautiful interiors), history (rich in history and story), proximity to activities (Frankfort is 10 minutes away from fun activities for friends and families including a tour of a historical plantation, swimming with dolphins, etc.), and has the most beautiful private beach I've ever seen. The layout of the property allows for privacy for couples who want to have quiet time but also has great living spaces so that friends and families can holiday together. Frankfort is really one of the most special places our family has been to and we are so looking forward to booking another week next Spring.
