Scotch on the Rocks (affectionately referred to as "Scotchie" is located on the lush and spectacular coast overlooking Sandy Bay in Ocho Rios. Set on a small rise, this oceanfront home is located between the Afterglow villa and the Sandals Royal Plantation near the fabulous Jamaica Inn Resort.<br /><br />Scotch on the Rocks is a short walk to the Royal Plantation where guests may use the resort's beach for US $20/per person/per day and tennis for US $10/per hour (racquets and balls are provided). Additionally, for fees guests may use the resort's gym, sauna, steam room and spa. <br /><br />Originally built by a Scottis...h Lord, the Earl of Mansfield, in the early 1950's, it has recently undergone a complete renovation ('2004) and enlarged and restored to its original beauty.<br /><br />Scotch on the Rocks or "Scotchie" as the villa is affectionately known, has a caring, capable and pleasant staff of four, composed of cook, maid, and gardener. They will prepare wonderful meals of your own choice, introduce you to Jamaican cooking and delicacies and generally look after your every need.<br /><br />Built on two levels, the interiors feature new travertine flooring through the first floor and original, highly polished mahogany floors on the upstairs level. Crisp white walls and neutral toned, tasteful furnishings define the interiors. Colorful artwork accentuates the crisp white walls. The villa features natural toned and tasteful furnishings throughout.<br /><br />The living room opens onto a spacious (24 x 12) outdoor covered verandah furnished with comfortable cushioned wicker seating and beautiful hardwood lounge chairs. The verandah is the perfect spot for savoring an evening sunset.<br /><br />Indoor dining room seats eight and the outdoor dining area that overlooks the pool and ocean can accommodate larger parties comfortably.<br /><br />The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with Jamaican mahogany furniture, antiques and original art. Four of the bedrooms are located in the main house and the fifth bedroom is located in an adjoining cottage/annex. All of the bedrooms have air-conditioning, private baths. Additionally, the four bedrooms located in the main house boast private balconies.<br /> <br />The master bedroom has a king sized bed, indoor seating area, antique writing desk, flat screen TV and outdoor porch with table and chair. The master bath features travertine stone floors and natural stone countertops. Two of the other bedrooms each feature queen sized beds, en-suite baths complete with walk in showers and private balconies with sea views. The fourth bedroom has optional king sized beds or twins, plasma DVD, en-suite bathroom with walk in shower and opens to a verandah. The fifth bedroom is located in an adjoining building connected to the Main House via a stairway to kitchen and doorway to the garden. This fifth bedroom has optional king size or twin beds as well as a twin sofabed. It, also, boasts an en-suite bathroom, TV, DVD and games. <br /> <br />Outside, the villa is surrounded by several terraces. The upper terrace is covered for wonderful alfresco dining and outdoor seating. The lower terrace features the private freshwater swimming pool and comfortable chairs. Both the pool area and verandah have hidden speakers for the enjoyment of outdoor music. Lighted steps lead down to a large dock complete with gazebo and ladder into the sea that provides access to a fabulous sandy swimming area in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea. The ocean offers wonderful swimming, snorkeling and kayaking on the complementary kayaks provided. The gardener will place chaise lounge chairs on this seaside deck for guest's enjoyment. <br /> <br />Scotch on the Rocks is a special retreat and sure to please!</p>

  We had a magnificent trip to Scotch on the Rocks and have raved to all our friends about how wonderful a villa vacation is. We all found our staff to be exceptional and the meals that they prepared and served were superb. Another highlight was our delightful driver. - he had great advice on which sights to see in Jamaica and was polite and jovial at all times. The best part about the kindly staff was the way it allowed us to truly relax and have a real vacation for the first time in what seemed like years! We would certainly enjoy another \"round\" of Scotch on the Rocks!
