Description from the manager
5BR/6BA Sea Star Villa is directly oceanfront in Old Man Bay on the north coast. This very large luxury villa offers excellent snorkeling directly behind the oceanfront pool and just 10 steps to the beach, which is both sandy and pebbly. Pool shoes/fins required for swimming or snorkeling on the coral reef.
Oceanfront screened porch, windows and glass doors to the sea flood the villa with Caribbean sunshine year round. Full width patio and pool deck provide a very large entertaining space. We loved the home. Views are amazing and amenities were great! House was very well stocked. The location was nice - off of the beaten track but still within driving distance. The only negative comment I have is that the air conditioning was limited to 73 degrees which was too warm - especially for sleeping.

From the moment we entered this gorgeous home, we were in awe of its beauty and spaciousness. The online pictures do not do it justice. We celebrated Easter and a family reunion of 10 in the Cayman Islands, and every one of us experienced both privacy (because there are so many lovely bedrooms/bathrooms) and community time (because the kitchen and common areas are so large). We prepared and ate every meal in the magnificent kitchen with its well stocked cupboards and superb counter space (I pine for a double sink kitchen now.) We barbecued. We splashed in the pool. We played multiple board games. We took turns with a baby who was well cared for with the thoughtfully provided high chair, playpen and cars eat. We taste-tested local rum. We had a fabulous time.
And the view. What delight it was to savor that perfect Caribbean from the kitchen and refreshing screened front room.
We spent many hours outside: around the pool, at the beach collecting shells, in the water snorkeling.
Four of our six days in Grand Cayman were cloudy and windy. Of course we were disappointed in the weather - we came for sun. But because of the size and layout of this home we experienced everything that a family vacation offers: relaxation, togetherness, joy and recreation. Sea Star made our vacation what it was.Response from Grand Cayman Villas & Condos - 04/11/2013

Let me first tell you that we are a group of friends that met on a cruise. Five couples that had so much in common that we try to get together several times a year. This being said we live in all areas of the us, so planning trips is a challenge! This was our first villa rental, and we weren't too sure how to go about it. Jim and Didi made it so easy . The hardest part was picking a house that would have enough bedrooms and private bathrooms, and Sea Star Villa met all our expectations! This villa is beautiful and spacious. The gourmet kitchen has every gadget you will need and even has a lot of spices, cooking oils etc. We used Mclurry car rental and they picked all of us up at the airport and even stopped at the grocery store so we could buy some basics. The rental cars were waiting for us at the villa! Very nice sevice, affordable, and our driver told us all about the island on the way. Now the villa...Gorgeous, and the view breathtaking! The pictures do not do this place justice! We spent a lot of time snorkeling , kayaking (3 provided) and lounging around the beautiful pool! There is even a small sandy area for children to play...I say this because there is no beach to walk. It is a very rocky entrance into the ocean, water shoes a must, but unbelievable snorkeling especially at the reef! If you want a beach go to Rum Point its not far(10 min drive). A must for dinner is a place called Tukkas, fabulous food, and they will pick you up and take you back to the villa! Go early in your stay...you will want to go back! The botanical gardens were beautiful and we even saw the endangered Blue Iguanas. We were very impressed with Sea Star Villa and feel it will be tough to find something that even comes close. We loved the fact that there were a lot of places to Be on the property either in our group, or private couple nooks like the hammock. Plenty of space to be together every day and still remain great friends!!! We will definitely go back!!!

This was our second stay at this property. This time we brought our 7 month old granddaughter as we knew we would have no problems with our accommodations. Property location could not be better if you understand what the Northside is. Easy access to launch kayaks(3 are available with the rental) or snorkel. Property has the perfect kitchen, plenty of privacy or great room to gather. Outdoor pool area has everything a vacation would want--view, great seating, sun or shade with ample umbrellas. Not sure what else to praise as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Only complaint was lousy wireless reception in most areas other than the kitchen and main gathering area. Since this was a vacation, we were able to deal with that small complaint. House has three bedrooms in the main area. Two other bedrooms above garage, separate from the main house by a breezeway. Makes it nice for an extended family with children. Don't hesitate to rent this home as long as you understand it's location, you will love it!

It was more than we could have hoped for. We snorkelled with the kids ages 5-14 right out front and saw sea urchins, lobster, barracuda and many other fish. We had a truly wonderful week. The house is beautiful and Rick was waiting for us when we arrived to show us around. The house was immaculate. When we wanted beach time for the kids we went to Rum Point which was only about 15mins down the road. We were very sad to leave and can hardly wait to return.

I have stayed at several locations on Grand Caymen and this by far was my favorite. First, I would never stay on the 7 mill beach side of the island again, way too busy, this villa location is spectacular, private and wonderful. The decor was breath taking and the kitchen could not have been better stocked. At times we all assisted in cooking and never bumped into one another because it is huge.
The pool and view from this villa had us all mezmorized. We fished right from the back of the house and kayaked. I would recommend this home to a small family and a large family and you will have plenty of room. Thanks -

Came home and rented immediately for next year! I have stayed in homes all over the U.S., Caribbean and some in Europe and this is the best I've had. Lots of room for 7 people with plenty of seating areas that are not only quiet and private, but comfortable. This is not a "vacation rental" it is a home with all the amenities you could possibly dream of needing and then some! All 7 of us could work in the kitchen, preparing dinner with no bumping or excusing! Casual and formal dining areas, the patio is large with lots of seating and the whole place is completely private- no views of neighbors or the road.
Bedrooms are lovely, very comfortable and even have plenty of hangers which is unheard of! Tv's, stereo with iPod connection, water toys, and a lovely welcome basket. Our host was most gracious and was there if we needed anything. The beach is wonderful with snorkeling out by the
reef which is an easy swim. Very little water traffic and cannot hear cars.
It is a ways from the town center, but who cares? We dove on the south side and the diving was much better there than in town and there are several good little restaurants in the area- but to tell the truth, we enjoyed the house so much, we didn't go out much! I recommend the botanical gardens which are couple of minutes away, and hire Geddes Hilsop for an island tour, birding and anything nature oriented.
Many thanks for making this gem available. We plan on returning yearly. -

Our group of 7 found the Sea Star to be extremely comfortable with everything you would want or need for a caribbean vacation. All of the water toys, water shoes, snorkeling masks and fins and sea kayaks. What more would you need. Very comfortable living areas, alot of space, great pool area. We could not think of anything more we would have wanted or needed. Hats off to Rick. (By the way, thanks for the hats). We'll be back.

Spent one week with hubby, son and daughter and their spouses and our nephew to totally decompress. Pure relaxation. Property is beautiful and well maintained, pool area is almost like a mini-resort, master bedroom has the perfect view to wake to every morning. Property manager/owner met us upon arrival so operating anything was well explained and handled. Only drawback is beach area is very rocky so walking along the shore is mostly not an option. That being said, entry to water was easy, kayaks were a nice touch, reasonable snorkeling and a hammock to curl up in to read or snooze. Two acres are nicely maintained--Cuban parrots, land crabs, other birds. Kitchen is well stocked, computer and printer made it easy to print boarding passes when returning home. Second refrigerator was a nice touch enabling fewer grocery trips. Propane BBQ made meal prep easy. Only complaint from the group was one queen bed was much too firm and they prefer firm, but this one could use a nice topper. This property leaves you feeling like you are on your own island with total privacy unless chosing to mingle, or at least eat at some of the good Northside or nearby restaurants. Hated to leave!
