Western New YorkThis was the perfect place to stay at OOB
Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in May 2012
When I began search for accommodations along the Maine coast for my husband & I with our 2 (M & F) college aged children, I was first looking for 2 rooms. I soon found many other options and White Lamb Cottages turned out to be the perfect choice. We were very impressed with how clean and comfortable the cottage was. It was spacious enough for the 4 of us and cozy enough to make us feel at home. The ocean is a few short steps down the road and OOB is a great location to visit all the sights. We had a bedroom with double bed and 2nd bedroom with 2 bunks. Every morning a basket of baked goods & coffee urn was delivered to our doorstep. We didn't expect to do any cooking but one night we picked up groceries and cooked steaks on the BBQ grill outside. I would highly recommend staying here and if we get back up to Maine again, would love to come back!

methuen, maBest relaxing mini-vacation at the beach on Memorial Day weekend
Left on 02/24/2012 for a stay in May 2011
This was our second year staying for long holiday weekend, which also included old fashioned New England clam bake, which was awesome. Everything is homemade, including dessert, yum!! Lori and family make you feel so at home, its as though you are part of the extended family. The beach is right there, and you are within walking distance to OOB center. There are also many dining options, and many day trip options in all directions. This is the best way to spend Memorial Day weekend, & we are looking forward to 2012!

We wanted a huge house. We definitely found it. We are grand parents of two young childrend and have two children with their conjoint. We stay in the yellow Victorian house. 5 bedrooms on two steps. 2 living rooms, a big kitchen with 2 sofa and a place where children can play during you make the lunch. You want to be alone? No problem, another dining room, another living room, two balcony are there. Some of us played social game, some read book or magazine. The beach is right there, 100 feet. A wonderful Victorian house, clean, comfortable. You don't have to take the car to go to the Pier and the Pirate's golf (around 10 min.). We have a place on a lake but we surely go back again with all our family at this place.

We had a fantastic week in the house. It was spacious enough for all of us and the kitchen is a dream. We found everything we needed to cook. The location is also fantastic and the view on the ocean from the second story balcony is delightfull. It's close enough to the Pear but in the mean time far enough so you don't get the noise, very peacefull.

Returning to the White Lamb Main House every year is like stepping back into an era gone by. The nostalgia of the beautifully restored property has been the back drop for our family reunion the past three years. Whether we are sitting on the sprawling veranda sipping coffee in the early morning dew of the ocean spray, or relaxing beside the fire after a long day of fun in the sun, our large family has never looked forward to a gathering more. Upon arrival we are already looking forward to booking next year's gathering. With the close proximity to the beautiful sands of Old Orchard Beach, local shopping and even historic seaside city of Portsmouth, this getaway has a little of everything for people of all ages. It seems as our family grows, the main house grows in space, function, and grandeur due to the diligence of Lori Basnett and her family. We happened upon this rental three years ago, but we are here to stay for years to come.

Cottage was adorable-very comfortable. Would have liked to meet the owners/manager but no one seemed to be around. Breakfast donuts (not homade like advertised ) were left in a.M. and the empty basket stayed on the steps all night-no one ever picked it up. Nice cozy place but seemed kinda impersonal. Workman was out too early working right outside bedroom window-rather spooky.Nice location- closer to beach than we thought.

NYC AREAA real gem!
Left on 07/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The 1 bedroom cottage we stayed in was perfect! This was an immaculate cottage with all the Ncessities needed for a vacation. Only thing lacking was a lobster pot in the kitchen. We were about 100 steps from the ocean and there are tables & chairs right outside of the cottages so if you want to eat outside you can. Morning pastries & coffee came every morning at 7:30 am and were yummy. Will be returning in the fall when high season Rtaes go down.

Overall it was a wonderful experience and we would go back in a heartbeat! We have told and recommended to several friends. The owners were so lovely! Only issue we personally ran into was we were traveling with a 1 year old and had to buy a pack n play cause the cottage was not set-up to accomodate a young child who was into everything! But we left the pack n play behind for other families to use! but value, cleanliness and staff were great!
