Amazing house on the water.

Our new favorite place to stay near truckee. We were a little disappointed I was unable to secure a cabin with a hot tub, but in every other respect, the Kudrna River House was the perfect ski cabin. It exceeded all of our expectations.

Very pleasant holidays

We have recently spent our Christmas Holidays as a larghe family group of 12 at the Kudrna River House. We have spent very good and pleasant time there. The house is very well located close to both Squaw Valley and alpine Meadows skiing areas and at the same time is sourounded by forest that gives very silent and clam environment.

The property is clearly used by its ownners regularly, which makes it feel very cosy and warm. It has abosolutely all what you need and even more!!! All kitchen equipment is in good state and very generously assorted.

Pullens responded very efficiently to 2 minor requests we had.

So all in all a very pleasant stay in a wonderful house for a big group.

Great spot near the Truckee River

I stayed in the Kurdna River house for 4 nights over New Year's 2011. We had 5 couples (so 10 adults) and 3 infants - so definitely a full house! Despite all the people, we were all able to sleep and eat comfortably. The house is beautiful and quite well made (walls were insulated well, which was important given the early wakeup times of our little ones). The location next to the river was quite special. We didn't happen to have any snow during our stay, but if we had, the close proximity to Squaw would have been wonderful.

The only downsides to the house were:
- lack of living room sitting space (only 1 3-person couch and 2 chairs)
- no shades on any of the windows (not really a problem if you get up early)
- limited kitchen counter space (but otherwise a nice kitchen)
- no hot tub

That said, I would definitely recommend staying here - especially for the location.

Spacious River Front House

Great for a large group

Spending the weekend at the River house was a blast and very relaxing. This was a great experience for a group that is active and enjoys outdoor activities. The Squaw Valley bike trail and Truckee River bike trail were both easily accessible and well maintained. We had a great time floating down the river from 4 miles toward the lake all the way down right to the back door. Our weekend was perfect and staying in such a wonderful house in such a wonderful setting made it that much better. Lots of space within. Plenty of bathrooms. A great deck out back. And, of course, the river that you can literally jump into right in the back yard.

Perfect getaway

I highly recommend staying at the Kudrna River house. The house was very
clean, charming and conveniently located to Squaw and Alpine . The layout of
the house worked out great, as there was room for the younger kids, teens
and moms.

I was also pleased with the concierge service at Pullen. They were extremely
helpful and kind on the phone.

The view from the house was gorgeous!

The Kudrna River House Experience

The Kudrna cabin was a pleasant surprise. The cabin sits on the Truckee River and is extraordinarily convenient for skiers...especially those that ski Squaw (who doesn't?). The very large mudroom, with the many cubies, was great for storing everyone's gear. The kitchen was amply supplied, beds cozy and the welcome basket was so sweet.

We'd go back in a heart beat! Thanks!

Our Dream Home!

It was perfect! Our whole family met at the house for a reunion and it was a perfect spot for such an occasion. The house was beautiful, spacious and everyone could find their own space when needed. The environment and surroundings were surreal in their beauty, absolutely dreamy. And the energy from the river helped to push any tension downstream so we felt a constant renewal of good times. Service was impeccable, staff was at the ready to help answer questions. We'll be back many times, we hope!

Riverfront Beauty, Great for Kids!

We had a family reunion / vacation in the house. My brother's family (three kids ages 3, 5, and 8), my family (three kids ages 1, 3, and 5), and my parents. Everything was amazing!

Couple thoughts about the kids' setup:
There were no child gates for the stairway. If you have little ones who can't navigate stairways, bring your own gate.

The river was pretty fast-moving. My two littler ones couldn't handle it by themselves. My older one wore a life-vest while playing in the river, just in case. Although the deck was a great spot for hanging out, there was no "beach" area to be close to the kidlets while they were in the river. Basically that means that there was always an adult in the river with the kids when they were playing in it.

Everything else was 5 stars for us!
