Kitchen Needs Help but indoor pool and hot tub were brilliant
If you are renting a large place such as this one, the idea is lots of family time and family meals. This home is very poorly equipped for cooking. There's a lack of kitchen utensils such as a scissors, potato masher, serving forks and spoons, salad bowls, serving bowls, etc. The pots and pans are a disgrace :( we had to throw away our food because the bottom of one (the only) large pot was losing the non-stick black material from the inside. In the kids bedroom downstairs, there's a pile of pretzels under the bed that have been there for quite sometime that need to be cleaned up! Also, 3 of our guests left the home with bites (they have now subsided) but we figured it was either spider bites or bed bugs (Eek).
Due to the lack of snow in Tahoe we made good use of the indoor facilities. Hot tub and pool (small) were an absolute blast for the kids. The steam shower unfortunately worked only once and then broke down. The controls for the outdoor hot tub are in the garage. There was no indication of that anywhere in the paperwork. I did mark the folder with this information, it should be updated b the owners.
If you like TV, this home is not for you. They have Tv's from the 70's or maybe 80's and yes, they are analog so the stop and go will drive you crazy. Get some flat screens!!!
Aside from the lack of utensils in the kitchen and the no Tv's, we did like this home a lot and would rent it again but I would make sure that the food had been removed from under the bunks, the kitchen was better equipped and Tv's were updated. Personally, I'm not a huge TV fan but for this kind of money, the home should have at least 1 working TV.
The surrounding area is beautiful and although there was no snow we still had a good time hiking the surrounding area.

Thank you for your review! Please read response from the Caretaker of this home:
1) The kitchen is generally well equipped for cooking and includes all necessary utensils and salad/serving bowls. A potato masher was purchased recently as were three new cooking pots of various sizes.
2) The caretaker always checks under the bunk beds for items left by kids and he did not see any pile of pretzels prior to this guest's arrival.
3) Subsequent to this guest's stay, an international family enjoyed the house for three weeks and did not report any similar bites as previous guests. The interior of the house gets sprayed regularly for insects.
4) The steam shower works just fine. An electrical breaker was flipped during their stay, possibly because the guests had too many space heaters on in one area. A simple phone call to the rental office would have solved this issue.
5) The TV's work fine and have digital converters. While they are not the modern flat screens (purchased in 92/93) they work unless there is a storm in which case even the newer TV's would not function correctly. We are in the mountains and the TV reception is a function of cable provider's signal strength which can be weaker at times.
From the Pullen Team: We encourage guests to contact our office while they are in the home with their concerns rather than waiting until their vacation is over and they are back home. Thanks again for your review.

it was a great "home away from home"
The home was comfortable...that is the greatest of compliments. we had two issues...the beds(other than the master) were too small. the skinniest of the couples took the regular size beds but at this price, i would think that all would have queen size, at least. the other issue is that we brought an extra table, but would have loved to have had folding chairs in the garage for all to sit at the same table.
minor, but, stronger lights are needed in the bathrooms...putting on makeup was a challenge.
pretty minor issues, but you already know all the wonderful things that have been thought through...games, puzzles, etc was perfect.

Location, Luxury, Large -- Great House in Squaw
Better than the pictures show. The house is huge, well constructed, and well appointed, 4 large bedrooms + the basement bunk room makes it great for a group of couples and some singles...or a few families with kids. The house is well equipped with dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, and appliances. Stereo plays i-pod throughout the house when connected. Only one complaint: for a 4500 sq ft house, there is only one 25 inch tube television in the basement. For what they're charging, its time for the owners to make a Costco run and pick up a new 50 inch flat screen for at least the basement - take out one shelf to the left of the tv and it will fit right in. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great Tahoe Entertaining Home
3 families (3 kids) had a great stay at this wonderful home. We loved the wide open entertaining upper area with its soaring ceilings, the great fireplace, the lack of a TV upstairs, the indoor pool and spa, the outdoor in ground spa that is the deepest spa we have ever experienced. The steam shower downstairs was well used and the location couldn't be any better (just wished we had some snow!).
the only 2 things that in our opinions would have made the home even better are the replacement of the old 20" tube TV downstairs with a modern LCD/led flat screen along with a DVD player (they only had VHS)and we thought sacrificing some of the workout equipment for a nice pool table would be awesome.

Great place for a large group, we loved it!
The house was very spacious with lots of comfort. We loved it, our kids loved it.
