Built new in 2006, this architect designed home is majestically located in a private mountain setting adjacent to National Forest with no other homes in sight. The main living level has a huge great room with 26 ft. high cathedral ceiling, large stone fireplace, art glass dining table, contemporary kitchen with stainless steel appliances, 6-burner Thermador range and granite counters and an awesome view of Sawtooth Ridge. There is also a south facing deck with waterfall.

We are so lucky to have found the Dill's lovely home in Tahoe, it really made our Thanksgiving family reunion perfect!
First, the house is stunning. It's clearly meticulously cared for and has soaring ceilings, modern kitchen / appliances, large comfy bedrooms and a huge rec. room (including ping pong, card table, lots of board games, etc). The house was also incredibly well stocked. There were loads of dishes, utensils, pots & pans to suit any cooking need. And the things we usually forget to bring like paper towels, coffee filters, spices, olive oil, etc were waiting for us in the pantry. They had sleds in the basement for the perfect little hill in the back yard and a garage fully stocked with firewood (a real benefit instead of having to pay $10 per bundle locally).
The location also cannot be beat. It feels secluded backing up to the national forest but is just a stone's throw from Squaw Valley. It's also smack dab between Truckee and Tahoe City (about 5 miles to each) providing easy access to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc.
Finally, the Dill's could not have been nicer to work with. The instructions provided for the house were simple to understand, all of their communications were prompt and clear and they were even willing to accommodate a last minute change to our reservation without hesitation.
I really can't say enough about this place, we will absolutely be back! -

This amazing chateau is a favorite destination for my husband and our friends and family. With ample, comfortable sleeping arrangements for over 10 people, we particularly enjoy the open family room adjacent to the kitchen and dining areas, chef quality kitchen appliances, great storage space (including parking), comfortable beds & quality bedding, easy access to the lake and all ski resorts keep us coming back to this lovely retreat.
