A very relaxing week
My wife, daughter and myself spent a most enjoyable week at the Loughleven Seafood Cottage. the weather was poor but the accomodation compensated splendidly. The cottage was excellently equipped and appointed and (save for an initial hiccough with the boiler--which was sorted out quickly) in excellent shape for our arrival, including a welcoming wood-burning fire. We were cordially received and instructed to get in touch with the manager if we had any needs or problems. The accomodation met our needs perfectly, spacious, modern and bright and enabled us to offer hospitality to two of our daughter's friends without inconveniencing us in any way. The location is quiet and scenic, overlooking Loughleven and the adjacent seafood resturant added much to the enjoyment of the break.
Our stay at Lochleven was wonderful. I went with my family and friends and we spent a great week. The house is very confortable, nice and clean. We really liked the layout of the house, with two separate floors. The beds are very comfortable, all the furniture is new and the kitchen is great. It also has a TV with DVD. If you are cold, you can put the heating. Another detail is that children have toys and books for an afternoon of games. A good thing is that you can go to the restaurant next to the house or just buy directly the food. Is fantastic, The surroundings are beautiful and the house is well situated for access to all the beautiful places in Scotland.
Brilliant accommodation in a wonderful location
Fiona was friendly, welcoming and very helpful over local information. The cottage was spotlessly clean, modern and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and great patio area for relaxing and enjoying the lovely view.
We climbed 'The Ben', did cycling, kyaking and boating, had two amazing meals in the Seafood Cafe next door and also cooked fresh fish and langoustines we bought in the shop on other days.
The location is superb but you do need to plan ahead when self-catering as the nearest shop for basics is over four miles away. Not a problem if you factor in a supermarket on your way home.
We had a brilliant holiday and could not have asked for anything more from this accomodation - apart from one minor detail - a hairdryer would have been a welcome addition (all that walking gear takes up a lot of room in the suitcases!) We would most definitely stay again.
Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings!
We had a great family holiday here, plenty of space for nine adults, with an amazingly equipped kitchen ready for us to cook up fresh seafood from next door. The location was ideal for hanging out, exploring, swimming in the loch, and easy to get to from Glasgow! Thanks so much for being accommodating with our short holiday!
My whole family stayed in the guest house for my wedding in May. They had a brilliant time in the guest house. Thanks for all your help Fiona.
Riera Family Road Trip
The service is professional and discrete. The house was spotlessly clean, fresh and with homely details, including a thoughtful welcome pack in the fridge. The location is an ideal base for Lochaber and has the benefit of a seafood restaurant next door! The views are beautiful. We had two Spanish friends in our party, visiting Scotland for the first time, and they were enchanted! I am almost reluctant to review here because I'd rather like to keep this holiday house as a secret hideaway!
Exceptional cottage in a scenic location; Warm & friendly host;
The cottage is very well appointed & clean. The hosts even left us some basic provisions as we were arriving fairly late after a long drive. I've recommended the cottage to a few colleagues at work...and last but not the least, don't miss the food right next door at the Seafood Restaurant. Great staff (Kate & her friends) & exceptional fare.
My stay at Lochleven was just amazing. I went with my partner and we spent a week in the middle of august.
The house was very confortable and we were very well attended both at arrival and departure. You have everything you need and it's very well distributed.
One of the best things is the fact that you can go to the restaurant next to the house or just buy directly the food and cook it yourself. Seafood is just delicious. I've never eaten so fresh in my life.
If you like to walk and nature it's also great as you have Ben Nevis near and also the last part of the West Highland Way. For cities to visit you can go to Fort William or Oban.
The house is well prepared to lodge from one person to a family. The good thing if a group comes is that you have independence, and there are two full equiped bathrooms. It is fit to do what you want to do.
The best thing is the kitchen and sitting room as you can cook and relax watching the lake.
Highly recommended if you want to relax.
We will try to come back in Winter! :)
We booked this for 8 people on a winter walking weekend.
When we arrived there was a power cut but the log burning stove soon warmed the place up. The power came back on at 8pm on the first night.
The accommodation was superb, clean, warm and extremely comfortable with everything you need for a great stay.
We arranged, prior to our arrival, to purchase seafood from the supplier next door to the cottage and were more than pleased with the quality and value of the langoustines, fish and scallops we were given.
I could not recommend this cottage highly enough. The booking process and entry on our arrival was handled brilliantly by Fiona.
