      Pleasant stay

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We were a group of four adults and three children four and under. The cottage was very clean and spacious. It had everything we could have needed for the kitchen, so very well equipped. The deck off the kitchen was a nice size and not at all crowded. The beach was fantastic for the little ones because it is quite shallow for a fair bit to allow the little ones to gain some courage before it gets too deep. We had a lot of fun down by the water. There is a small deck at the waters edge which is great to relax at but there are two unsteady steps to the sand. The downstairs also has a ton of space.

I would recommend this cottage to families or couples who just want some time away. It is very private with a lot of trees between units. It is only a short 5-7 minute drive to town so if you forget something it isn't far to pick up what you need.

      The worst experience

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We booked in February and we looked at a lot of cottages on this site and thought we found the perfect cottage to fit the needs of two families with small children for the month of july. Two days before our departure we get a call saying that this cottage we rented had a sewage backup and we couldnt go. Rent cottage tried to find us a cottage(so they say) but on short notice, none fit our needs and wants. One cottage they sent had slippery rocks, with small children I thought that was very unprofessional to even suggest. At least we got a full refund and went on a mission to find a cottage in one day. I found another site that helps you rent cottages and the lady worked so hard to find us a cottage. She found one but couldn't get a hold of the owners on such short notice. It was sad as we had everything prepared and ready for our week get away. The cottage we ended up with was so expensive and dirty. Needless to say I will never use rent cottages, because I felt that even though it was out of their control, and these things happen, they didn't work hard to find a replacement cottage. Or even cared that our vacation was ruined. It was too short notice and we also feel the cottage owners should check their septic tank on a regular basis considering people are paying good money to rent their cottage.

      Great experience.

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012

I was very happy with the service during and after booking. RentCottage staff were always nice and helpful. The cottage itself was just as nice as the photos. It's a pretty busy bay so I wouldn't recommend bringing a canoe for on the bay but maybe taking it to some of the other lakes around.
There is a boat rental company in the marina five minutes or less down the road. The prices and service are good. The dock isn't as great as it could be so we were very warily about tying the boat up to it.

beautiful view from a lovely spotless home.

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in May 2010

enjoyed two weeks in Penetang. View was lovely and the home (not a cottage) was well equipped, tastefully decorated and spotless. Weather was poor so we could not use the water craft, but that was no reflection on the stay. The only downside (and it was minor and we found a solution) was no TV reception...all in all very very good value for the money and a most pleasant experience.

      Great cottage, Will return

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in June 2010

My family and I were only here for one night because of a function in the area and were sad that we couldn't stay longer. This is a lovely cottage (cozy, modern, clean) and the layout worked perfectly for us. It was well stocked with some supplies and lots of board games for the kids. We also enjoyed the beautiful dock and canoe. The waterfront was nice for a drink and we didn't notice that many boats in the area.

The location was close to Toronto (our drive back was only 1 hour). We hope to return again next year.

      One big window!

Left on 11/20/2009 for a stay in September 2009

Two families stayed in this house consisting of 4 adults, 2 toddlers and an infant. The windows off the living room make staying there worth it. Since we stayed there in the beginning of the fall, the trees were starting to turn, which was beautiful but seeing the boats constantly going by on the water was so relaxing.

This cottage had been recently updated and it shows well. The only thing that I found is the kitchen wasn't as stocked as I would have liked. If you will need any spices to cook with, bring your own because there's nothing.

The toddlers and husbands had a blast down at the water and watching the plane that lives next door take off and land on the water.

      okay but

Left on 09/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009

-when we arrived the floors in this cottage had been cleaned so well that they were slippery which created a problem for my disabled husband and 2 year old grandson.....they both fell!

-the cottage itself was lovely however the walk to shore and and the shoreline were very disappointing due to climb down to the shore and lack of good swimming.
-the bay was interesting but to truly enjoy this cottage you would need a motor boat
