      Very Enjoyable

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Being a first time renter, we were not sure what to expect. The whole process was very easy. We were looking for something that our whole family could enjoy and we were not disappointed. The cottage itself was large enough for everyone and we were quite pleased with the layout. The privacy was another thing we liked as well. We used the hot tub almost every day.

We made quite a few day trips to different areas, including the Blue Mountain Resort and Tobermory. We also did the waterfall tour which was great and did a little shopping in the nearby towns. The point is there was much to see and do.

We got to see a young bald eagle (I think) during the week and a couple of times a great blue heron passed by.

All in all, a very enjoyable experience and we would not hesitate to recommend the cottage or the service.

Large, well-equipped cottage in beautful, natural setting

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This cottage was as advertised. Large, private property with a very well maintained, well equipped cottage. Plus the Saugeen river just a few steps away. We had a great time cooling down in the river, warming up in the hot tub, playing pool in the recreation room over the garage and lounging on the deck with the sound of the river below. Great location with a very nice golf course nearby, challenging hills to cycle into Markdale and close to other Durham area activities. We walked the trails on the property and walked across and through the river. In the cottage/house, there's lots of room for people with five bedrooms but we stuck to the six adult limit and only used four rooms. It was a great, restful vacation and was great to have such a nice property and cottage to enjoy.
Not inexpensive and it would be nice for the cost to have cleaning included but all in all a pretty good value.

Place was neat and clean,up to expectations.
When we arrived things were in order.Very relaxing vacation for us but might be a problem for people who are hooked to their internet beacuse there is no internet connection in the cottage.Acres and acres of lush green trees.Nice pathway to the river bank.A lot of stuff for kids in game room.

      Wonderful Holiday Site

Left on 02/06/2009 for a stay in October 2008

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Glenelg Landing last fall.

As we followed the map to it we were wondering if we were on the right track - the road is very rural. We drove past the driveway before spying the numbers and turning back. But once there, the secluded setting was beautiful as the leaves turned colour in the early fall. The cottage itself had a warm, homey atmosphere and was completely fitted out with everything we needed - from the piano for musical evenings to the jigsaw puzzles for a grey, drizzly day. The kitchen, too, I found to be fully equipped.

The owners left complete, easy to follow instructions for using the TV/VCR, fireplace, and kitchen appliances, also how to handle the garbage, use the barbecue, and the games room above the garage. They have taken great care to make the cottage an easy, happy place to be.

There is a simply beautiful golf course just down the road, and another smaller course a short drive away.

Its a bit of a drive to the closest town for supplies, but we found it fun to explore different sideroads each time we went out.

All in all, Glenelg Landing is a lovely home
in a quiet, restful, natural setting.

      Our first cottage rental

Left on 01/23/2009 for a stay in July 2007

This was the first cottage we stayed at after moving to Canada from
the UK. We thought it was brilliant, and a marvelous introduction to
this style of vacation. In fact my wife's sister and her family came on
the holiday with us and were so impressed with the whole experience
that they are now in the process of immigrating here, hows that for a
      reference
The cottage itself is really well equipped and has loads of character.
The location is tranquil and relaxing, a true escape from the big city.
I loved driving down the back roads to get to it, I felt as though I was
in an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard (showing my age there.)
      We'd highly recommend it.
