Just a convenient mile from the ferry landing, this dramatic contemporary home offers wonderful end-of-the-road privacy. Almost every room of this wonderful vacation home on Orcas Island offers spectacular views across West Sound, Shaw Island, and Wasp Passage. The sunsets will take your breath away. This is a spacious, high bank waterfront home, with a fabulous patio and deck stretching across the western (water) side - a great space for watching summer boat traffic travel up West Sound to the marina.

A windowed foyer highlights the entry, as does a grand piano. There's a large living/dining room with an open hearth rock fireplace a...nd floor to ceiling windows that bring the outside in. High ceilings and clerestory windows add wonderful volume to the dramatic architecture of the rooms.

There's plenty of space for entertaining. The large kitchen has a great layout with high end appliances and cookware. The kitchen adjoins a family room with another rock fireplace and a breakfast/game table. There's also a back entrance mudroom/laundry and convenience bath.

You'll go up a half flight of stairs to the master bedroom with a king bed and luxurious chocolate marble bath (and a tub with a view.) There's also an exit to a private balcony with spiral staircase down to the hot tub on the deck below! Down another half flight of stairs from the main level is a guest bedroom with queen bed as well as a third bedroom that offers twin beds. Both lower level bedrooms also have doors to the deck and hot tub. (Sorry, the hot tub is available only during the Peak Summer Season.) Two small twin roll up beds are also available; please note that there is a $50 charge per night per guest when 7 or 8 guests are accepted.

The ferry dock is located at Orcas Landing (just a mile away) where you will find a small grocery, post office, and restaurants plus shops. Venture further up the road about 10 minutes, toward West Sound, to find public beach access near the Orcas Island Yacht Club. Or continue on up Crow Valley to the village of Eastsound, about 15 minutes, for fine dining, theater, and shopping.Read more

  The house is even better than the pictures. It is an enormous amount of space, perfect for groups of 4-8; and you will still have room to spare. You have panoramic views from each room and having the hot tub with those views after a long walk or hike was sublime. Plenty of room on the deck for cocktails and dinner. While I have no complaints, it would be great if the house has more materials specific to the Island - such as trail info and maps, recommended kayak/horseback riding companies, recommended things to do (off the regular tourist path) home service masseuses. Ofcourse we were able to figure it out on-line and with the local COC but it would be nice to have the "insiders view" info there as well.

  Our extended stay at Isle of Skye exceeded our expectations, and afforded a a delightful escape from the south Texas summer heat. The house is impeccably furnished and maintained, and its owners and management team were gracious and accommodating.

  This is a beautiful house located on the west facinf slope about 1/4 mile from Orcas Village. The evening views from the outside balcony were breath taking. We enjoyed watching the fireworks over Deer Harbor visible from the balcony. My complaints are that the internet or modem seemed to go down quite often, the clothes dryer makes a terrible racket when operating, and the house has a musty wood smell (likely from all of the beautiful custom wood panelling). Other than these minor issues, the stay was memorable!
