Guests of Le Cozi will love the location in Orient Village! Mere steps from the beach with restaurants right outside of your door. And there are more places only a short walk away on the beach. Le Cozi is also only steps from the Tap 5 Market where we would get fresh croissants, French bread and pastries. Two well known beach bars of Orient Beach are also mere footsteps away: the "Bikini Beach Bar" and the "Kakao Beach".
Orient Beach on the Northern coast of French St. Martin is the best serviced and most popular beach on the island. It is a 2+ mile long white sand beach.This beautiful beach also offers lots of fun and entertainment for families with children and for a romantic getaway, with many beach bars and good restaurants and a variety of water sports.
If you are happy with what Orient Bay and the Village have to offer in terms of shops and restaurants, you will not need a car when you vacation at Le Cozi. If you are up to exploring other areas of the island, a car rental is the best way to get around. Close to Orient Bay and Orient Village is the ferry boat in French Cul-de-Sac that takes you to the tropical dream beach of Pinel Island. The ferry station is a mere 10 minutes drive away. The Butterfly farm at Le Galion is about the same distance, opposite direction. As to dining, many of the finest restaurants of St. Martin are in Grand Case. This quaint, laid-back Caribbean village is also within a 10 minutes drive from the Apartment Le Cozi. Add more 10 minutes, and you are in the French capital of Marigot for shopping, the waterfront street market or sightseeing.

Everything was very nice for our 2-week visit. Marion is wonderful, and even offered to take us to the grocery since we didn't rent a car. Could have used another 220-110 volt converter, but found them for sale at the card/tobacco shop for us$5.
Plan to go back to St. Martin when we can, and will definitely consider Le Cozi again. -

We have been on 15 Rccl cruises and stopped at St Martin 8 times. Each time in St Martin, we took the Beach Rendezvous tour with Toni.
When I was looking at Vrbo.com, I tried to find a place that was close to where we were always bought to and enjoyed, Cocao Beach Bar. Needless to say, the patio overlooks the exact spot. So that was personal my preference because Cocao Beach Bar is about the half way point of Orient Bay.
About the rental, first off, Marion is a sweetheart, all phone calls were courteous and willing to work with you on accomodating dates and times of arrival. She will meet you when you arrive and go over everything and hand you the keys. She is available and lives nearby.
The Cozi apartment is just that, Cozy. King bed in the main bedroom. Large shower in the bathroom, kitchenette with a clothes washer (no dryer but a hanging rack on the patio with clothes pins).
You get 4 regular towels and 2 beach towels. We brought beach towels, so during the week, we rotated 2 shower towels and 2 beach towels into the wash every other day.
Previous guests leave esentials such as bug spray (the No-see-ums (sand fleas) are mean - not Marion's fault, just a product of the islands salt pits) I recommend taking military grade repellent with 100% Deet with you.
The living area has a couch (I think pulls out into a sleeper) and a quiet air conditioner like the one in the bedroom.
The apartment was refurbished recently and everything is in perfect condition.
There is a community pool that was maintained daily.
Recommend that they install a digital safe bolted to the floor of the closet if the bedroom. We didn't have any issues, but I don't like walking around with a weeks worth of cash either.
In a nutshell, a couple dollars more than the nearby hotels per night, but well worth it.
We already booked next years trip, instead of 7 days, we made it 10. I am sure the following year it will be 14 or two separate 7 day trips !Response from Marion Dufaur - 11/28/2012

Le Cozi was very clean. We thought it needed more comfortable living room furniture and there weren't any English TV channels. We liked it enough to return.

We spent 8 nights at this amazing location, Marion was a lot of help!One of the best beaches in St. Martin is just around the corner, you can see it from the patio! Walking distance to Orient Bay town with lost of restaurants,bars, music and a small store with everything you can think of!!! It is the perfect place to relax and to drive to other beaches, since everything is so close! We are hoping to come back since everyone was so friendly! Love it!
The apartment had everything we needed and more, if you don't see it just ask Marion! Amazing place and location, the Caribbean cannot get any better than this...away from the crowds! -

Nous avons passer 2 semaines fabuleuses dans cet appartement à 2 pas de la mer. Monsieur s est régalé en kite surf sur la plage d Orient Bay, les enfants ont adoré la piscine privative et Madame à lézardé sur les plus belles plages de l île! Appartement agréable, très bien équipe et climatisé. Le petit plus : le wifi. Pratique pour rester en contact avec la famille et les amis. La propriétaire est très sympathique, aux petits soins, disponible et pas avare de bons conseils (merci pour l adresse du médecin!).
Bref nous reviendrons des que possible, c est certain!

This was our third stay at Cozi and they just keep getting better. Everything you need to feel at home while you escape the cares of the world. The service is prompt, friendly, helpful and always available. The unit is clean, comfortable, well furninshed and has all the things you need for your stay. I can't wait to go back next year...Did I mention really close to the pool or the beach!

First time we used Vrbo and were very happy with the rental. The location is absolutely fabulous!! There are several restaurants around as well as a bakery & small grocery/convenience store so you really don't have to have a car.
There is no american tv on cable & although there is wifi, it's really slow, so load your movies & shows before you arrive. The wifi is fine for email, etc.
The kitchen could use some microwavable bowls & a pitcher, but all in all the kitchen is set up very well. It was nice to have a washing machine too.
The grill is really small & is charcoal, so plan accordingly.
Would definitely recommend this to friends & would stay again.

The proximity to the beach and restaurants couldn't be better. The location is quiet but just a stones throw from Orient Beach which you can see from the patio. Ideally situated to nearby restaurants, places of libation and of course Orient Beach.

This one bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom and livingroom, was one of the best vacation accommodations that we have ever encountered. It was also our 20th wedding anniversary. Talk about just steps to the beach, classy restaurants, and short driving distance to other parts of the island. It certainly lived up to its advertisement; and we will definitely be back in the foreseeable future.

Off season and a quiet time of year (our stay October 1-9)and if that's what you're looking for in a vacation you'll love St Maarten, Orient Baie, and Marion's apartment this time of year. The apartment lives up to it's pictures... it is that good!
You'll be just steps from the beach, the expensive but picture perfect Kakao beach restaurant, and the small Orient Baie village town with shops and four or five restaurants centered around LaPlage. If you're au natural you're also just a short walk (suit up to get there)...even shorter drive to Club Orient...Beach umbrellas and chaise lounges available on all the store/restaurant beach fronts generally about $20 for two. Marion has a couple folding canvas chairs in the bedroom closet (no recline). Beach towels are in the flat. Parking is convenient only a few steps from the front door.
Bring cat food...there are cats galore all friendly but roaming free and hungry. They'll keep you entertained. Tv is all French so an opportunity to brush up or if not bring a fistfull of Dvd's. It was very quiet at night, at least his time of year it was. There's a small market in LaPlage to buy grocerys, a newsstand (sparse English titles...Int'l Herald Trib available) and a delightful pastry and bread shop. There's a much bigger supermarket market, us Market, a short drive away on the main drag and recommended for a major shop. Almost all take us cash but adjusted to the Euro.
Marion as all the other reviews say is a delight. Any help you need she's there for you. Checking in is a snap...she'll meet you at the apartment...same when you leave.
We'll definitely going back and already showed the apartment to folks we met this trip.
Rent it...you'll love it! -

We visited St Maarten in September for our wedding anniversary.
September was off season and quieter than usual but we liked it like that.
What a stunning place!! The beach was a minutes walk from the condo and the sea was like bath water.
We drove around the island and thought that Orient Bay was the nicest place to stay.
The condo was superb, really clean, modern and well equipped. The only thing I would suggest is a mosquito net for the bedroom as the mosquitoes are fierce and you should take mosquito defense.
Marion was really lovely and is on hand 24/7 if you need her.
All in all we had a great holiday and would do it again.
A bit of advice, you only need to take dollars.

We stayed at the apartment for over a week... had an absolutely great time. The apartment is a very spacious, clean 1 bedroom with great looking modern, european decor. Its also close to the village shops... always enjoyed my morning walk to pick up a fresh baguette for breakfast. The whole resort is lovely with a nice selection of restaurants set around the small village "square" giving it a french as much as a carribean feel. Close by was our favourite beach of the entire island... Galion. With quiet, calm, shallow crystal clear waters (ideal for kids and only a few people); we spent a couple of afternoons there relaxing under the palm trees. Totally recommend the apartment and the whole island (on't miss out on Lotterie Farm). Marion is a great host; very friendly and gave us lots of great info.

Marion met us at the condo. Le Cozi is the perfect size for two people. The most convenient location to a beach I have experienced to date. The receptacle in the dining room already had a voltage reducer to accommodate our rechargers for laptop and phones. The WiFi was very nice, but I think it is set to time out on the last day; it would have been nice to have it available on the morning of departure. All together, a fabulous time. Thanks, Marion.

it's a very charming apartments with a big terace and air conditioning. and the beach it's nearby and very beautiful.
cleanliness it's very very good. there all home appliances, a microwave, washing machine, TV, a oven, a fridge, hairdryer, etc... and internet.
the owner is very nice and helpful.

We couldn't have asked for a better location to the Orient Beach and the condo was very clean. Marion was very helpful in answering questions and coming over when we needed her. The only suggestions I have are these things:
shower needed a curtain (water sprays everywhere); kitchen needs more utensils (spatula, tongs, mixing spoons & silverware-spoons, knives etc), Also, there was no lids for the pots & pans. More dishtowels and paper towels needed too.Trash can needs to be larger in kitchen ( I was contantly taking out the trash because of small space).
But, the biggest suggestion I have was not having English speaking t.v.(only French). We ended up renting alot of d.v.d.'s to compensate for that. Overall, Marion couldn't have been nicer or helpful, and the place was very clean and comfortable. The WiFi was a big help to keep in contact with family members. But overall, I wouldn't hesitate to rent Le Cozi again because it was an overall pleasant experience.
We hope to go back again there again soon. -

This condo was the perfect vacation for my wife and I! We have been to alot of beaches around the world and Le Cozi condo is just a few step from what my wife and I now call "Beach Heaven". Anything and everything you wanted to do at the beach can be done at orient beach, one of the best beaches in the world, just steps from the condo. Marion is a sweetheart, and will meet you to make sure you are settled in when you arrive and is a phone call away if there are any problems. We had no reason to call marion due to the fact that the condo was perfect for us, very clean, comfortable, and secure, and had no issues to report. Just paradise right out Marions back door. The first thing we did when we came back home was to plan to go back next year. Vivi la France!

Marion & Emmanuel were awesome. Responded promptly to concerns/questions both before our stay and during. The condo is in an excellent location and suits all your needs. Only draw back for us was the French Satelllite T.V. as we do like to keep up with the world news and do not speak or understand French. Was very quite at night. Would highly recommend staying there. The village square of Orient Beach is just around the corner and has restaurants there that were quite good. Recommend dining at La Piment...very good food.

Stayed there with my girlfriend for a week in December 2010 and had a very pleasant stay. I can't think of any better location in Orient Bay. It's in a quiet spot, overlooking the sea which is literrally 50m away and 2' away from Orient Bay Village shops and restaurants.
The flat is spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable and has a fully equipped kitchen so you can eat in. It's no more expensive that the nice hotels in Orient Bay and actually having a kitchen is quite valuable as restaurant in the area are not the cheapest albeit affordable.
We went to Orient Bay to have a quiet week, as close to the water as possible and near the sailing club which is next door on the beach and can't think of any better place after our stay.
The landlord, Marrion, has also been incredibly helpful throughout the stay, very welcoming and available giving us a few tips on what to do round the island.
We would gladly go again and would recommend to anyone staying in Orient Bay and especially windsurfers/kiters who want to be near the spot and club.Response from Marion Dufaur - 01/05/2011

We stayed at Le Cozi the first week of October - the week of the big rain. We got in late Saturday night and Marion met us at the apartment and explained everything (except how to understand the French TV). Actually a week without TV was pretty nice.
The apartment is great. Very spacious, immaculate, and a great location - just 50 yards from Orient Beach. They have all the regular things you would expect from a fully furnished condo - plus a washer, beach towels, high security doors, a cell phone, other little things I can't think of right now. Marion and Emmanuel were readily available. To top it off, I did not realize what a great area Orient Village is. Several restaurants, grocery stores, just a very nice community.
We plan on another tip to St Martin in two years, and we will definitely be staying at Le Cozi, -

Our recent stay at Le Cozi was magnificent! Marion and her husband are very charming and very attentive and accommodating. Le Cozi is perfectly situated - just steps from the beach. Several restaurants and grocery store are very close as well. We will definitely be back in St. Martin in the future and would stay no where else but Le Cozi!

I had never rented "by owner" before and was worried about all the details. Marion and Le Cozi made it easy. The owner always promptly responded to my questions prior to our stay. She met me at the unit promptly upon arrival and showed us all the little details about the unit. The unit is a short walk to the beach (across a parking area - as most of orient beach is) The unit was very clean, comfortable and incredibly liveable. The pictures on the websites show the unit just as it is. Fresh, new and contemporary. All the little details are available like coffee maker, wine bottle opener, dishes etc. Finally, marion was friendly and felt very close by if we needed anything. We can't wait to stay at Le Cozi again and certainly would highly recommend it.

This is an absolute perfect condo for small family or couple. I do not believe you can get any closer to one of the best beach in the Island.
We have been to St Martin before but wanted to have more freedom and rented this condo which has a full kitchen and a washing machine. You also have Wifi if you need access to the Internet.
The condo is really clean and nicely decorated. The pull out sofa was perfect for my two young childrens to sleep on.
Marion was really helpful and live close by which make it great in the event you need anything.
Renting a car is trully optional has you have many restaurants close by.
We are planning on going back to St Martin often and this is for us the perfect spot to stay at.
You can rent with confidence from Marion. We had no problem what so ever. -

Beautifully decorated and quiet apartment with wifi and ipod station, only 100 m from the beach. The apartment was very clean when we arrived and the owner friendly. There were lots of towels for the bathroom and beach. The bedroom unit and living room have air conditioners that manage to cool down the whole unit. The kitchen is functional and we had only minor issues: the dishwasher did not work during our stay. A few smaller pots, a pair of kitchen scissors and other minor appliances could be added to the apartment for more easy cooking but it has a microwave, a well-working fridge and freezer, and enough plates and glasses. Overall, it's very comfortable.
The terrace and garden offer shade or sun, according to your preference and are a real asset. While the neighbors might be able to take a look at you through the garden, you still have the feeling of isolation from the main road.
The pool is a bit shallow and is mostly used by kids but you can actually do a few laps. The beach is wonderful.
I would advise people to get a car, as the local supermarket is small and expensive. You will find a grocery store about 5min away by car but be aware thatfood is expensive in general. You can find fresh baguette bread, however, close to the apartment.
There's a choice of good restaurants around the apartment, mostly around the village area.

Beautifully decorated, one-bedroom apartment just feet from St. Maarten's most famous and colorful beach, and ten minutes away from Grand Case and a dozen of the best restaurants on the island. This was our 15th year in St. Martin/Maarten, and in addition to a time-share, we have regularly stayed at various private apartments and cottages, but this was so comfortable and convenient that we made our reservation for next year before we had even left. Located in a recently built community of two-story buildings right behind the beach at Orient Baie, you have half a dozen restaurants right in the community, a few stores for emergencies, pool and internet access, and even a view of the ocean from the backyard. I'm not quite sure why we ever left, but we are definitely going back.

We have traveled to St. Martin's nine times and stayed at some great condo's and apartments. This one rates as one of the top places to stay. Some of the things we loved: squeaky clean, spacious, extremely quiet (good solid walls), WiFi, very close and walking distance to our favorite beach, parking in front, very safe & secure, sleek European decor and tastefully done, nice full kitchen with new appliances, large tiled bathroom, comfortable bed, Ipod docking station to play your music and nice beach towels were provided. Marion was a sweet, wonderful host and would respond within 10 to 15 minutes if we had any problems (which were almost none). It only has French television stations but we did not come to this beautiful island to watch television.The terrace has some views of the ocean with a table, chairs, two comfortable lounge chairs and surrounded by a concrete low wall. We could walk to a Tap Five for pizza and a grocery store for some forgotten supplies (expensive) or baguettes/French pasteries.

My husband and I had a great time. The unit we stayed at was very clean and comfy. Just some minor issues. The air conditioner wasn't working properly in the bedroom so we had to dress in the living room because it was much cooler. The bathroom needs something, either a stronger venting system or airconditioning. When using a hairdryer you start sweating and the hair just doesn't cooperate much. Girl thing, I guess. A couple of lounge chairs for the back would be great. Many times did my husband and I sit at the table outside but would have loved to just lie on a chair listening to the waves. Got a little uncomfortable after a while sitting in the chairs. And last but not least, you need more channels on the TV and maybe with subtitles. I enjoy watching the tube in the morning or later in the day, and I couldn't because there were only a handful of channels to watch. I didn't mind that it was in French, but subtitles would be nice as well as movies. Thanks for all you've done. Regardless of my little issues, we did have a great time.

I am agree with you, for the long chairs on the terrasse , it would be more confortable to have some long chair and have a lounge corner after a sunny day to hear the waves, to read a book or to have a drink with some candles. So we bought a couple of long chair.
For the air conditionning in the bedroom, we are very sorry about it but you could tell me during your stay, and it could be repaired immediately. Now it is repaired.

Nous avons loué cet appartement durant les vacances de février. Le studio ne possède qu'une chambre mais nous étions 4 pendant 10 jours et nous n'étions pas à l'étroit. L'appartement est decoré avec gout et est très bien équipé (lave vaisselle, micro-ondes, machine à laver,...). La plage juste en face de l'appartement est tout simplement un vrai luxe, de plus il est tout à fait agréable de pouvoir passer du temps dans la piscine privée de la résidence.
La propriétaire est charmante, elle nous a accueillis avec de nombreux conseils et indications sur St Martin et est disponible pendant tout le long du sèjour.
Nous recommendons vivement cette location et nous sommes prêts à revenir dès que nous le pourrons.

This was our third year in a row vacationing on Orient Bay. With some knowledge of the area we decided it was time to move out of the hotel environment and onto a "space of our own" We did not make a mistake. The Condo was lovely! It was exactly as pictured, with simple, sophisticated beachy furnishings, and larger than expected. The location was perfect, immediately across the drive from the beach.One of the things that makes Orient Beach so beautiful is there are no high rise hotels, or any accommodations for that matter, situated directly on the beach. Just pretty little restaurants tucked into the palms and tropical foliage. While there is no need for a car, we always rent one. It is a close drive to Grand Case for more dining options. The restaurants within walking distance are good, but not all of them are open every night (and this was in peak season) While cooking is not part of what I look forward to for a vacation experience, the kitchen was well equipped if you are so inclined. Do try the Extreme Fly Zone at Loterie Farm. Awesome! As there is really not much in the way of night life on the French side of the island, it would be helpful to know some French if you plan on using the tv, as it is only French tv. One added note is the owner, Marion was totally accessible for any questions that arose, and went above & beyond to help us. We definately plan on returning here next year....hope this review doesn't limit our chances with availability! Maybe we should book a year ahead! ;-)

I stayed in this lovely villa for two weeks over the New Year's holiday, and I can honestly say that I will not stay anywhere else on SXM. It is perfectly situated directly on the beach and just steps from Orient Bay Village. There really is no need even for a car (which is otherwise VERY necessary on the island).
I go to St Martin twice yearly, and have stayed at a dozen places, and this is definitely the best! The only thing that could possibly be improved would be some English-speaking cable tv channels (such as CNN, ESPN, etc.) You better have a working knowledge of French-- or plan on having no news or sports for your stay.
You just can't get a better or more comfortable location than this! -

USASuperb modern condo in a great location on Orient Bay

Our stay at Le Cosi was phenomenal! The condo was recently renovated and very tastefully decorated and furnished in a modern style. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Of note, the condo owner (Marion) was very responsive to any needs we had during our stay.
The location for those interested in a great get-away beach destination is perfect. You can see Orient Bay from the condo's living room and outdoor patio, and it is only about a 1-minute walk to Orient Beach, one of the best, if not the best, beach on the entire island.
Of note, there is a community pool. However, when we were there, there was absolutely no poolside furniture. It was just basically the pool and nothing else. Hence, we did not spend much time there. However, with a beautiful beach just across the road, this was not a major issue for us.
A small grocery store is nearby which we visited when basic food items were needed. However, we often drove back to the Dutch side to shop at a larger market.
This was our first visit to St. Martin/St. Maarten. We would certainly consider staying at Le Cosi again if we visit St. Martin/St. Maarten in the future.
