Guests of La Plage will love the location in Orient Village! Mere steps from the beach with restaurants right outside of your door. And there are more places only a short walk away on the beach. La Plage is also only steps from the Tap 5 Market where we would get fresh croissants, French bread and pastries. Two well known beach bars of Orient Beach are also mere footsteps away: the "Bikini Beach Bar" and the "Kakao Beach".
Orient Beach on the Northern coast of French St. Martin is the best serviced and most popular beach on the island. It is a 2+ mile long white sand beach.This beautiful beach also offers lots of fun and entertainment for families with children and for a romantic getaway, with many beach bars and good restaurants and a variety of water sports.
If you are happy with what Orient Bay and the Village have to offer in terms of shops and restaurants, you will not need a car when you vacation at La Plage. If you are up to exploring other areas of the island, a car rental is the best way to get around. Close to Orient Bay and Orient Village is the ferry boat in French Cul-de-Sac that takes you to the tropical dream beach of Pinel Island. The ferry station is a mere 10 minutes drive away. The Butterfly farm at Le Galion is about the same distance, opposite direction. As to dining, many of the finest restaurants of St. Martin are in Grand Case. This quaint, laid-back Caribbean village is also within a 10 minutes drive from the Apartment La Plage. Add more 10 minutes, and you are in the French capital of Marigot for shopping, the waterfront street market or sightseeing.

This well-appointed loft style apartment is perfectly located for anyone who wants to take in all that Orient Beach has to offer. It is very convenient for access to everything from the many good restaurants across the street to grocery shopping or a pizza from Tap Five directly below the apartment. We loved sitting at the balcony table and watching the village go through the early morning wake up.
The kitchen it completely set up to prepare a wide range of meals and it also contains a full size refrigerator that is so essential for long stays.
In spite of being in the central area of Orient Village, it is very quiet at night. Even when there is entertainment in the square across the street it is done by 10 PM.
Just as stated in other reviews, Marion is really helpful and committed to making your stay as good as it can be. -

We had a wonderful time at both of Marion's apartments. Both clean and comfortable. One apt.was a little further away from the beach than the other, but everything still in convenient distance to everything.
Marion was very accommodating for any of our needs and was there in a moments notice.
She provided a cell phone during our stay and just had to purchase minutes. That was very helpful for us. -

We loved it and have booked for next year again already. The location is great with the bakery and groceries right downstairs, several restuarants across the street and a 2 minute walk to the beach. This Condo had everything we needed. Would highly recommend working with Marion, she was a complete pleasure and so accomodating with us.

If you are looking for prime location, around the corner one of the coolest beaches in St. Martin, small town ambiance and everything you need around 5 minutes drive, you found the place!
The apartment has everything you need and more, Marion was available for questions, suggestions, etc! You walk around the corner and you are at Orient Bay Beach, fun and very active beach, any water sports you can think of are offered there. The best part is, if you don't travel during rush hour you can see amazing beaches everywhere after a 15 to 30 minutes drive! St. martin and the location rocks! -

We loved the location of the apartment. It has an open floor plan (which made it so much more spacious), clean, up to date and well equiped. Eventhough it was in the heart of everything we felt very safe. We didn't feel like we had to go out of the community to find the fun. Many great restaurants--wish we had more time to try it all. Marion was wonderfully attentive and responsive to our needs. We were able to contact her easily throughout our stay. Ask her to help with the car rental, it was so convenient and hassel free. There was a pool but we never got to use it because the beach was so wonderful. The grocery/pizza place below was so convenient for our family, not to mention the bakery (where my son looked forward to fetching a fresh warm baguette and chocolate croissants every morning), ice creamery, and shops... Everyone was so friendly, kind and helpful. Only thing we didn't care for much was the urine smell of the cats and dogs surrounding the area...made it hard to hang out in the balcony at times. Overall, we would definitely stay there again. We really didn't need to leave the community!

The neighbors had no right to have animals.
They were forced to leave the residence.

My wife and I spent a week at La Plage, and the nicely appointed condo had everything we needed. It's walking distance from the beach,grocery a bunch or restaurants and bars, and it's only a short drive from a supermarket and all he restaurants of Grand Case. The space was great for just the two of us.

I would like to start by saying Marion was awesome - she was there when I arrived and had everything ready and even had a pre-paid cell phone that I could borrow. The apartment is really cute and a two minute walk to the beach. There is a grocery store downstairs and if you have a car you can drive to an american supermarket down the road. I plan on returning next holiday.

My husband and I stayed at La Plage during July which is their low season. The weather was good, minus some rain showers in the am. The condo is clean (despite the sand that we constantly dragged in) and very convienent to the beach, 2 minute walk.
Most kitchen necessities were there to cook, and if not the grocery store was a short drive away. The condo is very spacious for 2 people and updated throughout. Overall great stay an would definitley stay again. The island was very safe and the people there are very friendly and willing to help in any way. Orient Beach is nice with all of the chairs and beach bars. Also check out Pinel Island (ferry in city of Cul-de Sac-5 min drive and $7.00 ferry)
I would recommend to bring a collaspable cooler to bring with you to beach to bring food/ beverages to save money, really helped us cut back. Also there are some beaches without any bars/ food/ chairs, and this helped!
Renting a car on the island is a must, and do some research before you go about activities and beaches because you are not staying at a resort, the info given out is limited.
We loved our time here and we are anxious to return! -

Marion Dufaur and he husband rent three condos in Orient Bay, La Plage being one of them. My wife and I stayed at La Plage for 4 nights in May 2011. The condo was located directly above a small grocery store / bakery. Fresh croissants and French bread were available every morning which made for the perfect breakfast. The condo itself was located 100yards from the beach with easy access to the water.(no beach view) Additionally several great restaurants and bars are located across the street which makes for easy meals. The condo was very comfortable and perfect for two people; any more may have been a bit crowded. If you are looking for a luxurious resort experience or to be pampered this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a relaxing trip with amazing water, sand and spectacular French cuisine, then I highly recommend Orient Bay and La Plage.
Marion and her husband were a delight to deal with, meeting us both upon arrival and before we departed to ensure our stay was perfect. She provided restaurant and sightseeing tips as well as leaving a phone for us in the condo in case we had any problems. It was an amazing weekend!

Stayed here for 7 nights and it was wonderful. Perfect for two people. Marion, the owner, is great and very helpful - she also provided us with great local recommendations. The unit has a loaner cell phone which you can buy minutes if needed. The place is extremely clean, kitchen is well stocked with utensils/cookware. Orient Beach has a great vibe, even in low season. Highly recommend La Plage for anyone looking for condo type accommodations - you won't be disappointed!

We stayed at La Plage, 2nd floor, over a small grocery store. It was convenient for small items, fresh baked goods, great-tasting rotisserie chickens. A short walk to Orient beach. Apartment was clean and plenty of kitchen items; TV w/English channels. Stairs to 3rd floor bedroom were steep & hard to navigate, but we only needed to use them once each day as we stored our clothing downstairs. Owner was very helpful by lending her spare cellphone which we could purchase minutes for to call home, as we'd just had a death in the family & needed to be in touch. Hope to rent an apartment at La Plage area again.

Marion welcomed us to La Plage a little late as she was stuck in traffic. She showed us the condo and was very helpful answering all our questions and made sure we had our internet connection set up before she left. The condo was clean, and close to the beach and many restaurants and stores. The biggest complaint was that the stairs to the bedroom were extremely steep. I feel the condo could have had a few more amenities in it such as dish soap, bath soap and a clean kitchen sponge, etc. We really liked the convenience of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We rarely used our rental car! The smell of the baguette's baking in the morning at the Tap Five was enough to lure us back again. Thanks Marion!!

We had a fantastic time. The La Playa condo was very clean and easy to get to. I liked the fact that it was in the center of all of the local shops and close to the restaurants and beaches. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to from where we were staying. Marion (owner) is wonderful and very responsive and close if you need her. My only suggestion would be to provide some sort of shelving in the shower for soap and shampoo. Other than that the place is great and I would go back again in a heartbeat.

We spent two wonderful weeks at "La Plage", the apartment was tastefully decorated, it was very clean and very pleasant .. The owner was lovely. We were next to the beach and shops. When we go back to St. Martin, we plan to stay in this rental! It was a perfect place for us; it was modern, fun, very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. In our opinion, it was the best location we could have selected on the island. We could walk to the beach; walk downstairs to any of stores and eating establishments. There are great restaurants across the street in the main square. The gocery store in the square was also very convenient on multiple occasions. We had a great experience and would recommend it!

This was our second trip to St. Martin and we chose to stay in Orient Bay instead of Grand Case because we anticipated spending most of our time lying on the beach. We contacted Marion via email and she was very helpful in making the arrangements to stay at La Plage. When we arrived, she met us at the apartment/condo and showed us the place, but not before the shop owners downstairs caught us admiring a large basil plant that they had in front of their store. They cut off a large stalk for us to use during the week - thus is life on the friendly island.
La Plage was very clean, comfortable, and in a great location with a short walk right out to the beach. The apartment has an open kitchen and living room with a balcony and stairway leading up to a loft-style bedroom. The large flat screen TV with cable and internet access was an unexpected surprise. Marion also made clear that we could call or email her at any time should we need help with anything, which was very nice.
The only warning or caution that I would give is that this is not the most quiet or secluded place to stay. The balcony faces a street that runs down to the beach and La Plage is so close to the beach that on a couple of nights we could hear the music and bass coming from the beach parties (perhaps if we were not so lame, we would have been down there).
Overall, we had a great time at La Plage. It was nice and convenient to be able to buy fresh bread, fruit, pastries, and pizza at the shop below the apartment. It was a short and easy walk down to the beach so we could either choose to eat lunch at a restaurant on the beach or walk back to the apartment for lunch. It is also a short drive to Grand Case for dinner, to the larger supermarket between Orient and Grand Case, and to the ferry that goes over to Pinel. -

This was an excellent vacation residence. the apartment had excellent litchen appliances-no dishwasher but that was not an issue for us. A washer but no dryer, again not a problem for us. Orient beach was a 2 minute walk. Marian and her husband were very accessible although we needed nothing during our stay. Good TV coverage. Plenty of storage space. we would recdommend this site to any one looking for a quiet, low stress place to stay, and we plan to stay there again soon.

We have been in St Martin before, but this time decided to stay at Orient Beach. The location is in the small shopping area with some good restaurants and only a short walk to the beach. The apartment, on the second floor, is nicely decorated, well appointed, and ideal for two people. We plan to stay here again.

La Plage was the perfect location for our first time experiencing St. Martin. We were located above a small grocery store and within a few feet of a marvelous little french bakery. This was in addition to being about fifty steps from Orient Beach. Marion and her husband were wonderful hosts and did everything they could to insure a great stay. The apt. was spotless and we had a view from our balcony of the goings on in the town square. A great place to kick back and enjoy life. We recently stayed at La Plage in June and it was amazing! Marion greeted us with a friendly smile and made us feel at home. She recommended places to visit and she was always there if we needed assistance. The condo is very clean, spacious, and cozy. The decor is very modern. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony every morning. Orient bay is just steps away - only a 2 minute walk! There are also very nice restaurants across the street with excellent food. We highly recommend La Plage and we would definitely visit again!
