This was the first summer in our lives without access to a family-owned cottage. We were wary about staying in a privately held property without having met the owners and seeing only pictures online. However, we took a leap of faith and were pleasantly surprised. We spoke to the owner by telephone and exchanged emails. We were met by the owners upon arrival, given a tour of the rental unit and were given detailed typed information/instructions about the property and Orillia's attractions.
Private internet access was a necessity during our stay and we were not disappointed. The bathroom is new, clean and fully equipped. The kitchen is well equipped and again is very clean. The BBQ is a good size and sitting near the shore is very enjoyable. The neighbours are quiet, yet knowing they are there gives a sense of security.
Although there is no beach, there is a sandlot for young children and the backyard sloping to the lake is fenced off in two places ensuring children can play safely, yet enjoy the lovely yard. Just a short drive away is Orillia Harbour with walking trail/boardwalk along Lake Simcoe/Lake Couchiching, a busy harbour, many places to sit and boat/people watch and a sandy beach with lifeguards, and shallow water cordoned off for young children.
It was a pleasure to stay at this property and we would not
hesitate to do so again. -

This is very good cottage and very reasonable priced.
The owners keep it very clean, brand new grill. The property is perfectly maintended
