CaliforniaPerfect place to stay for DisneyWorld
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We are Diamond Resort owners in Maui and booked the better part of two weeks at Cypress Pointe using our Club points. This resort is in the perfect location to enjoy all of the Disney Parks and Orlando entertainment opportunities. The resort is very easy to find.
Located right outside the Disney property, it was a short drive each day to get to where we needed to go. Right around the corner is the Winn Dixie, where we stocked up on groceries to provide breakfast and snacks. Most days, we packed lunches and brought them into the parks to save money on food. Within a 5-minute drive you can find any restaurant you'd like (including Waffle House!), Walgreens, Winn-Dixie, Dunkin' Donuts, Pirate Mini-Golf, and the freeway entrance. You'd have to drive a bit farther for Starbucks, the outlets stores, and a large mall. Universal Orlando & Islands of adventure (Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and Sea World are all 15-20 minutes away by car and Cape Canaveral cruise ports & Kennedy Space Center are about 45-60 minutes away. You will need a rental car; the resort offers no shuttle. Most rental cars are equipped with the SunPass, so you don't have to worry about the toll roads. Parking at Disney parks are $14 to park and Universal is $15. Parking at Kennedy is free.
Check in was quick and easy, though the front desk staff could take a few lessons about courtesy and customer service (many of the employees are from Europe and do not have that warm sense of hospitality that americans generally exude so naturally). They were not outright rude, we just felt like we were bothering them all the time. The concierge desk staff was very helpful and though they offered incentives for attending a timeshare presentation, they refused to call it that and insisted that they were just trying to enhance our stay. When we opted out, they didn't push, however, so that was nice.
They do not have a business center, even though this was advertised. They had a space for two computers in the gift shop, but I was told that they recently removed them and installed a touch-screen with the ability to print boarding passes, etc. We tried to print our boarding passes, but without a keyboard, were unable to do so. We also found that the "cafe" was just a sandwich counter and offered very little and seemed to always be closed when we wanted something. They do not offer room service. The local pizza places will deliver to this resort.
During our two weeks, we stayed in two rooms (having left the resort to stay at the beach a few days and then returning). The first room was on the 2nd floor and toward the back of the property with views of the greenbelt that borders the property. The second room was on the third floor and had views of the pond with fountains and other hotels and city lights. Guests should be aware that there are no elevators in any of their buildings.
The pool is great and we also had use of the pool and free miniature golf at the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas, across the street. They also have a well-stocked mini mart over there.
The rooms are large, nicely decorated, and well-stocked with extra towels and kitchen utensils. Wireless internet is available for a daily or weekly fee (we used the weekly for $20/week). The beds were adequate, though not super comfortable. They could invest in new comfy matresses.
The rooms are not cleaned or "made up" daily or weekly, unless you are staying for more than two weeks. Cleaning services are available, but quite pricey, and with a washer & dryer, you can wash your own towels. Pool towels are provided in each unit.
They offer a "late check out" but it must be requested by 9am the morning of your check out and they will only give you one hour extra. Your 10am check out is now 11am. You can request more time, but it will cost you. Kind of ridiculous, but I guess you get what you pay for. We didn't pay for our stay, so it wasn't a big deal for us.
All in all, this was a very nice place to stay. If you're not accustomed to staying in a timeshare-like place and expect your bed to be made every day with fresh towels, you will be disappointed. But those of us who enjoy the perks and amenities of timeshare ownership, it was a very nice experience. -

augustaGreat for the most part

The resort was great for the most part. Only a few things we did not like...swimming pool only went to 5 feet deep, water slides only for young kids, and the trees blocked our view from the ponds with water fountains...blocked pretty much our entire view. We were on the 3rd floor...no elevators...however, the place was very clean and nice, rooms very nice and location was great. near all the attractions...I would return but my teenage son would not only because of the pool...the personnel was very friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything...

Easton, PAGreat stay at Cypress Point Grand Villas
Left on 12/06/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My husband and I traded our timeshare week and we also purchased 2 getaways for our friends and family at Cypress Point Grand Villas. We had three 2 bedroom/2bath condos. We all had a refurbished condo and they were absolutely beautiful and spacious. Everyone was very happy with their accomodations and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The resort is so close to Disney and there are many resturants and bars close by. We will definitely stay there again.

West Palm Beach, FloridaFantastic Stay at Grandevillas Phase II
Left on 09/16/2011 for a stay in September 2011
First, the owner of the unit I booked; Tony aramouni was incredible. He gave us a 4th floor unit with a great view overlooking the pool. He also explained everything to the last minute detail and everything was exactly as he had described. The unit itself was fantastic. Everything was like brand new and/or perfectly clean. The rooms were large and there was plenty of room that we felt very relaxed and enjoyed every minute we spent in the unit. We had a great vacation at Cypress Pointe and are planning to return soon.
