255372A magic place
Left on 04/21/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I spent a night at the Catlins Mohua Park in the Catlins and found it first class, a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The hosts, Fergus and Mary, are excellent. The cottage is set in a lovely bush setting that is wonderfully peaceful. The owners extensive knowledge of the environment adds an extra dimension to the stay. My visit to the Catlins, although brief, was well worthwhile. There is some stunning coastal and bush scenery and wildlife. I was also impressed by the level of interactive display in the Owaka and Riverton Museums. Unexpected from a small community museum and very well done. The Niagara Falls Cafe is also first class.

houtenJust in the middle of Nature
Left on 04/03/2012 for a stay in March 2012
These cottages are situated in the Mohua Park, a very beautiful place. It is quiet, peaceful and you can enjoy the lovely view, sitting on your terrace. The cottages are very comfortable, very private and we had a good time there. You can visit several waterfalls in the area and it is not too far from the beaches too..
If you don't want to do the cooking yourself, there is a possibility to have dinner at the Main House, but ask before you arrive. Otherwise buy food before you go to the accommodation.Response from Fergus and Mary Sutherland - 04/08/2012

255060Beautiful relaxing retreat
Left on 02/09/2012 for a stay in January 2012
I stayed her with my partner in the Karearea cottage for 2 nights. This was a beautiful cottage, with a lovely private deck to sit on in the sun and watch the sheep in the neighboring farm. The eco features of the cottage made me feel good about staying there without diminishing the luxury of staying here. It is wonderful to go for a walk in the paths in the forest on the property. The owners, Fergus and Mary I believe, are wonderful, pointing out things about the property. Even better than I expected.

This is a must do for everyone! Need to relax and enjoy the quiet? This is the place! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Very comfortable (the bed is great!) and a view to die for. Left all curtains open at night, were able to enjoy a full moon over the hills filled with sheep. Walks on the premises were lovely too. Would love to go back!

We were given a voucher by friends to stay for two nights at Mohua Park and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was comfortable and cozy and made for a very relaxing break.Fergus made us feel very welcome and shared the history of the property and his vision for it with us.We loved the rural outlook and enjoyed wandering through the bush trails. We also took the opportunity to see all the scenic highlights of the Catlins during our stay.
